"It feels like just a shoe..." 🤣 (This is a shoe I have ALOT to say on...but I'm waiting to get a pair to test before I unleash). BTW, the foam in this shoe is the older LSP, found in the AP3 and B12. Not the new version of the foam in the AP4.
Chris you are going to LOVE this shoe, in my opinion. It was pointed out that it’s the AP3 formulation and that makes sense 100%. So, however you got on with those shoes should be a similar experience as far as the responsiveness goes. I think this shoe will come to life after some break in like the AP3 was for me and I’ll love it
Got a pair I’m waiting to break out. Thanks for the great review - confirming a lot of what I’m looking to get out of it. I had such a love hate relationship with the Boston 12.
This one has the LightStrike Pro from the Adios Pro 3, rather than the new version that’s in the Pro 4. That may explain why it may need some break in. I haven’t had the chance to pick this one up yet. This video makes me question if I should. But who am I kidding. I’m still going to buy it.
@@runwithsean amazing! It really did feel like that , the 3. But that gives me hope because the adios pro 3 softened and I ran 250+ miles on them and it was my favorite long run shoe. Always great to talk to another person with a shoe problem
They are plenty soft out of the box at 205lbs. I like the new rocker. Super smooth at steazy/marathon pace. Upper is so bad. Wish it had the SL2 upper.
@@MidLifeRunner typical lace bite tongue stuff mostly. Casual would be fine. It's oddly snug/bite on top of the foot but kind of baggy lateral and medial side. It's not end of the world just not sure how adidas is so bad with uppers. SL2 upper isnt perfect but tonge is padded and nicely hugs whole foot. Could just be my normal to slightly narrow foot idk. Really like the midsole but i also love the AP3 (just not the upper). Going to try some wider and flat laces. Helps the issues on the other shoes.
Bought a pair, didn’t like the fit, and thought that the range of performance didn’t suit my slow pace. Returned it and got the Novablast 4 on discount instead!
I miss Texas. Sunshine & topless running in December. For me there are two types of daily trainers. Easy steady long run or faster uptempo short to mid distance. Based on your review and others I think this one is a perfect example of the latter. It's hard to find a daily trainer that excels in both paces.
I agree with you. It really is rare. Maybe something like the Superblast bc it’s big and can go long but light enough to pick up the pace. I think you mean you miss Texas Winter. 🤣 I certainly do not miss Texas summer , and the majority of spring and fall
@@MidLifeRunner As a runner I agree with you. Not fun running in 105 degree sun. However running is -4F can't be any easier with your frozen midsole calves and lungs. California runners have it easy. Happy New Year.
Low key kind of addicting to do that magic. I see why you do it all the time. This will not be the last of my Aubrey inspired work, haters be danged. ((don't read the comments Aubrey!!!)
KMs rule. I am one odd person tracking everything in KMs. Two reasons... I am originally a product of metric system. Secondly, when I started running, the app I was using was giving audio pace notifications and I wanted more frequent updates so switched from miles to KM settings. I wish they added a bit more padding to EVO SL tongue. With those cheese wire laces and paper thin tongue, if you need tight midfoot the lace bite is unavoidable. I ran CIM in Adios Pro 3 and I got pretty bad lace bites and bruise on top of my foot after CIM. Downhills were pretty painful. I thought of stopping and loosening the laces but I didn't want heel slippage or foot moving in the shoe and hitting toe bumper at each step on downhill so I persevered. In the end, it was my 2nd fastest marathon. BTW, I do recommend CIM for your next sub-3 attempt. It is a fast course but there are some rolling hills in the first half. 17 aid stations are very helpful as well.
thanks for recommendation. I am running Boston this year as my big race and maybe the first San Antonio marathon for it's inaugural race. It's the same weekend as CIM so i won't make it this year. It is on my bucket list marathon races as well. i do agree that Adidas adizero line typically has minimal padding on the tongue and uppers and I have gotten lace bite in many of their shoes. I bet they fix it for the next round . BTW I am practicing downhills for Boston. Despite the terrain I imagine I can run a sub 3 there....
🤷🏻♂️ i mean, 1k is far easier to adjust the pace, than waiting another 610mts more to know if you are pacing correctly 🤷🏻♂️. But then again, im here for the jokes. Not to give advice or anything 🙈🤣😆. Anything for the algo!! Great video Andrew Pozzafield (magician)
Best shoe I’ve ever had. Non-plated but just as fast if not faster than the plated shoes I wear. I feel sorry for the people who aren’t getting the same response from them that I am!
My adios pro 3 took some time to break in but I ended up loving them and I am guessing it will be the same for this shoe because it's the same foam. I'm glad they work for you so well. Stock up!
@@MidLifeRunnerI found them softer than the AP3 and they felt great from the first step. I’m trying to stock up but they’re still hard to find! I got lucky when DSG had them for literally 5 mins
It’s a $150 non-plated shoe with “premium” foam. I love my pair. You aren’t the first to compare it to a plated shoe experience and I just don’t understand that. 🤷🏼♂️
@@lukepaulson3428 it’s because sometimes the super foams can launch without much of a plate. The Nike invincible 1 for example, super bouncy, granted there was a lot of the foam. I got fried on October 10th, so it's been 73 days. The week before the marathon I jogged 90 min for the week so it was pretty much an off week. I spent a couple of weeks off after the marathon. I tried a bunch of fringe tactics to reset my horomon levels (fasting, low carb, and supplments like NAC, Quercetin, these are anti inflammatories, anti-viral things). My first run back was at a 9:30 pace. I ran easy for three weeks. I documented the process in a video I titled "How long does it take to get your fitness back." So, after 5 weeks, I started to move the legs over again. So, there are two things. One, it could have actually been the COVID and Flu shots I got October 9 that sent me over the edge. And two, It can take 4 weeks to 6 months to recover depending on the severity of the overtraining, basically how far deep did the athlete dig the hole? It's taken over 10 weeks so far and I'm getting close but I don't think I am at the fitness level I was before I got fried. I am hoping to get there in a few more weeks so that would put me at about 3 months
You mentioned Aubrey, who's entered a business relationship with Believe In The Run, and like Aubrey, you too are now promoting BITR branding in this video. Have you entered a business arrangement with BITR? You usually mention shoe acquisition, how much you paid for a shoe or if the video is sponsored and the shoe was sent to you to you in exchange for promotion. Why does this video lack your usual disclosure of shoe acquisition? Mentioning the price of the shoe ($150) is not saying you paid for the shoe - and the lack of direct disclosure on the acquisition of the shoe + BITR branding leaves me wondering if like Aubrey, you've become an extension of BITR? Whatever your hustle is is cool with me - my observation is about how "out of character" this video is and off your brand, imo. This video feels like you've adopted BITR's agenda. I love when you talk about having to be prudent fiscally with shoes due to having young kids, etc. - very relatable.
I do like how you say it as it is, not worrying about upsetting the shoe companies 👌
