- Sarah Clow caught measles as a child and was left with lasting disabilities including deafness, partial sight and learning difficulties. Her mother Audrey talks about the impact this has had on Sarah and the whole family. Thanks to Rockhopper TV for the original footage (www.rockhopper..... Thanks so much to Audrey and Sarah for telling us their story. So many people don't understand that this infection can have such serious life-long consequences.
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. There is such complaisance in Perth Western Australia about measles today, I'm sharing your video to my timeline in the hope that it will change the mindset of anti vaccine parents. All the best to you and Sarah x
Sarah was not vaccinated against measles as a child because she had had eczema. Medical advice on this has since changed, and current advice is that it is safe for babies and children with eczema to receive the MMR vaccine.
This video should be watched by anyone who is anti-vaxx. Please also note that it was really a case of measles at age 11 12/2 around Christmas 1876 that caused Mary Ingalls' blindness. It resulted in viral meningoencephalitis and a stroke by the time she was 14. Scarlet fever didn't cause her blindness. Measles cause complications, such as blindness, deafness, brain damage, immune amnesia for 2 or 3 years, etc.
This feels like propaganda.
Chuck Bennett Why does an open and honest account of one family’s true story “feel like propaganda?”
@@michelleknight4804 Because they only show bad effects from the measles but not the ones caused by MMR. Her mother says that she feels like they got a different child compared to the one they had. How many mothers say this after MMR??! She says Sarah doesn't like the way she is. Yes, poor Sarah but vaccine injured children also don't like the way they are. The MMR can cause deafness and blindness too.
Mc Hobbit I’m not going to be drawn into a hypothetical debate about hypothetical “vaccine injured” children and how they may or may not feel post vaccination. My original point : this is a factual account by one family. You may not like the truth but that doesn’t make it propaganda.
@@michelleknight4804 Oh you think vaccine injury doesn't exist? Read the side effects of a vaccine package insert.
Mc Hobbit I am well aware of the (overwhelmingly mild) side effects. But it’s the unproven, unsubstantiated anecdotes about so-called “injuries” which are more dangerous than the side effects themselves. You only need to look at the recent New York measles outbreak and resulting public health crisis as proof.
If I choose to go bungee jumping there is a risk that the harness will give me a friction burn. It doesn’t mean I intend to go bungee jumping without a rope.
