  • Trying Korea's BEST HANWOO BEEF at Majang Meat Market 馬場洞 | Seoul Korea
Seoul, Korea - Have you ever tried Hanwoo Korean Beef? I heard that some people like it more than Wagyu Japanese Beef. I’ve never tried Hanwoo before, so I had to go to Majang Meat Market to try some of the best cuts of Hanwoo and see if this beef is as good as Wagyu.
At the Majang Meat Market (마장축산물시장), you get a chance to see a lot of different cuts of beef. Also, you get a chance to speak to the butchers who cut the meat and can help you better understand what cuts are to your taste. We got the special strip loin and ribeye shrimp cut steaks. All I can say is, “WOW”. I was blown away at how juicy and beefy the meat was. If you are a big fan of ribeye steak, you will absolutely love this Hanwoo.
I’ve had both wagyu and hanwoo, and I have to say that both meats are super juicy and tender. The main difference I feel is that hanwoo has a more beef flavor, like that of an angus steak in the US. If you want to try an amazing steak experience, try Hanwoo. This could be one of the best dining experiences of your life!
    We purchased:
    Shrimp Cut Ribeye Steak 200g - 55400 krw - $42.64 USD
    House Special Strip Loin - 200g - 43900 krw - $33.79 USD
*I'm sorry the Korean price in the video for the Strip Loin was wrong. It was 43900 Korean Won which is $33.79 USD.
Use of the restaurant with side dishes - 7000 krw per person
    Rice - 1000 krw
    Doenjang-jjigae - 6000 krw
Thank you for watching and be sure to hit that like button. Also, I’d love to hear what you thought of the episode. So please feel free to leave a comment below. Have yourself a wonderful day and I’ll see you back in the next episode.

@@grifsfoodandtravel Would never guessed! We thought you were Chinese or Japanese. You threw me off when you were eating and you said “we” eat it like this. I’m Korean as well and living in CA. Both your video series in Japan and Korea have been helpful even though we frequent both countries it’s always good to get new places to eat.

@@secondamazonprime-kv5xo I get that a lot. I don't have the typical Korean face. But I'm full blooded...lol. My wife is Japanese, so I've had my fair share of Japanese food. Thanks so much for watching! We are headed back to Japan and Korea to create some more episodes so stay tuned!

@@grifsfoodandtravel my wife is 3rd generation Japanese American born in HI. We recently moved to CA in 2021 from HI but plan to move back in 5-8 yrs. Having too much fun in CA & traveling. Looks like we have some things in common. People think the same with me since I’m 5’11” in height. We are going to Japan & Korea in April and plan on trying some of your suggestions.

@@secondamazonprime-kv5xo wow, 5'11" will make you definitely stand out in Korea and Japan...lol. People thought I was Hawaiian when I visited Hawaii too. Also my wife and I met in California. So I guess you can say we have more in common. Have a great time on your trip and enjoy all the amazing food.

I personally prefer Hanwoo and Australian Wagyu over Japanese Wagyu.

I much prefer high-grade hanwoo to high-grade wagyu. A5 wagyu doesnt even taste like beef, while 1++ has a nice beefy flavor while also having amazing marbling. Hanwoo is for people who like beef, while wagyu is for people who like fat haha

Hanwoo is better than Wagyu in general and some meat specialty youtubers confirmed that. But the price is too expensive, it doesn't give the price justice satisfaction so it's not for everyone's food. I'd eat US or Canada beef for everyday meal. haa

I think if more people at Hanwoo, then maybe price would match demand. I think it is still not recognized as much as Wagyu. Thank you for watching and your comment.
