  • KOREAN SELF SERVE RAMEN CONVENIENCE STORE 24 Hour Self Serve Ramen Shop With No Workers In Seoul Korea
When coming to Korea, I did some research to find unique places to eat and came across this ramen convenience store that is open 24 hours and has no employees. I’ve never been to a place where it is fully automated and they trust you’ll pay for what you eat. So, I had to make my way to Jongro 24 Hours Ramen Convenience Store to try some of their ramen and get the experience of self service dining.
In this episode I’m going to show you my experience of dining at this ramen shop and the process of making ramen in a self-serving facility. Also, you’ll see they have side dishes, like kimchi and danmuji. The store provides water, along with other beverages for purchase. You have two floors to cook and eat but be sure to pay for your ramen on the first floor.
    Food I tried:
Pulmuone Roasted Pork Ramen 5500 won
SAMYANG Buldak hot chicken carbonara ramen (buldak bokkeum myeon 까르보 불닭볶음면) 4800won
    Banana Milk (바나나맛 우유) 1800won
And to top off my experience at Jongro 24 Hours Ramen Convenience Store, we ran into fellow UA-cam content creators, Shinichi & Satoshi from Tabieats UA-cam Channel (@TabiEats). We’ve been following their channel for years and never would have imagined running into them. These two gentlemen were so humble and friendly. We really enjoyed meeting them and look forward to possibly collaborating with them the next time we are in Japan. I’ll leave a link to their channel below. Stop by their channel and check them out.
We also bought BTS Vanilla Latte on the way home from mobile convenience store. It was 2700 won.
Thank you for watching and be sure to hit that like button. Also, I’d love to hear what you thought of the episode. So please feel free to leave a comment below. Have yourself a wonderful day and I’ll see you back in the next episode.

Nice job! I also came from TabiEats and have subscribed! Do you know how the ramen was heated up? It looked like first hot water was dispensed and then the water was brought to a boil from some kind of heating element on the bottom. If the bowls had a layer of aluminum, then it couldn't be induction as we know it in the US, and I haven't seen microwaves that can deal with metal either. And it seems that radiant heat (like an electric coil) would scorch/burn the paper. I am perplexed!

Thank you so much for watching and subscribing. Yes, the way you explained it is how they eat up the ramen. There is an aluminum layer in between the paper on the bottom of the bowls. Don't know the science behind it, but somehow it heats it up from the bottom. Sorry I can't give you a better explanation. But I hope you enjoyed the video and continue to watch future upcoming episodes. We hope to be back in Japan and Korea later this year.

Who restocks the toppings? A ghost? 😅

Thanks for watching and your comment. Actually, the owner of the shop comes by periodically to restock and remove trash. So there are no ghosts! 👻

Do they have eggs to be added?

We did not see any eggs that you could add. But you probably can bring some with you. I should have thought of that!

@@grifsfoodandtravel I was thinking of that too😁 btw, I saw a note at the side of the machine while you were paying “no eggs….”!
