    Great video. I did not know about the airside temperature adjustment. Some other settings I know of are:
    * 41-0 to read current air temperature (i.e. either return air temp or the Master RC temp depending on what you have selected)
    * 41-1 to read condenser temp
    There are also some "Quiet night mode" settings that allow the outdoor unit fan to run at a lower speed at night to keep the noise outside to a minimum. To enable it, set 26-0 to 1 (on), and you can adjust the time it kicks in using 26-1 (e.g. setting to 4 means it will run quiet from 10pm to 8am).
    I happened to find the above by chance on some PDFs online, but wish I could find the complete set of field settings so I could fine tune the behaviour of the unit.

    Hi Craig, I found this video so helpful, thanks for uploading. Sounds like a fault zone motor, it it’s a brc24z 4 or 8 it’s a 24volt plug in zone, you should be able to in plug a working zone and swap the cable with one that’s not working. This you can tell if it’s the zone motor or zone controller.

    1. When i was trying to only turn on one zone, the common area zone will always automatic turn on. Eg, only want bedroom zone on, but it will turn on common area + bedroom.
    2. I don't have a sensor in the bedroom only in the common area, so the temperature seems to get very low and AC doesn't know to turn itself off. Any way to fix that?

      @FullyAirconditioned  6 місяців тому

      Fit a remote sensor and you can have the control point at the bedroom zone. Common area is not a zone, it doesn’t have a zone motor to turn the air flow on and off. The common is all ways on when the air conditioner is on, you would need to add a zone to turn off the common area. This may not be as easy as just adding a zone, there could be duct work changes that are needed at make it all work correctly.

    How do I change which rooms are which zones?
    Whenever the unit is turned on the living dining and kitchen stays on, regardless of what other zones are on or off. I want to change it so that the “ common area” can be its own zone that I can turn on and off since we don’t need it on all the time, but would like to have just the other rooms on (ie, being able to turn the living area off, and our bedrooms on when going to bed rather than the living area being on all night, even though the space is not being used.)

      If the common area is not a zone it can’t be turned off, if a zone motor/damper is fitted to the duct work that supplies air to the common area, then it could be turned off. But often when the duct work is designed the common area may be feed with air from multiple ducts, so you may be not be possible with out some duct alterations or more that one zone motor/damper.

    Hey Craig. I have really struggled with our office unit not controlling temperature well and suspect some of the settings are not right despite having called out a technician. Your tutorial is good but it has raised a little confusion. When I compare the BRC230Z4B Installation manual pg 11 codes with what you say, they seem to be opposite. For example you say in Mode 1b, switch 0 is remote sensor 1 default set to 02, not active. The manual has default table and says 1b-0 is set to 01 which is Sensor 1 OFF, implying 02 would have sensor 1 as ON. This is opposite to what you say in the video. It also applies to switch 5 for the master RC which you say should be set to 01 to be active, and the manual says 01 is OFF. Did you make a mistake or am I reading page 11 table incorrectly. I have set switch 5 to 01 and switch 6 to 02 which per your video would allow the Master RC to be active as well as a Sub RC. I will experiment with this to see if its better but as it seemed like you were reading from a manual I wanted to hear what you thought. Many thanks. Antony

    • @FullyAirconditioned
      @FullyAirconditioned  Рік тому

      Hi Antony,
      Thanks for taking time out to comment, from time to time I am wrong and I am the 1st to admit it. But there are two controllers ,this is the newer one (BRC24Z4B9) and when this newer controler came out we found that Daikin had decided to change a few things with how it came out of the box. This one's default settings on page 11 says sensor one is set to 02 (sensor on) the previous model default setting was set to 01 (sensor off). I just double checked a new install manual and the older install manual. So your installation manual is correct for your controller as I believe it's the older controller. If you have a closer look you will see that your controllers look slightly different from the one in the video, but they have the same functions, just a face lift and change of default settings. Actually I don't think the older controller has the Daikin's "airside Control" option where it will automatically lower fan speed as zones are turned off.
      kind regards

      If there is a wall sensor you need to make that input active, an easy check is to push select sensor button. Each push will bring up a different sensor. The sensors can be turned on and off in setup. When you push this button you should get indoor (inside the indoor units return air ) master RC ( sensor in the controller). Other sensors that can be turned on and off in setup are, sensor 1 (remote sensor) sensor 2 (2nd remote sensor) slave sensor (sensor in 2nd slave controller). The sensors can also be re named. Once you have picked which sensor you wast active push “fix sensor” button and it will become the active sensor for the system.

    • @FullyAirconditioned
      @FullyAirconditioned  8 місяців тому

      You have a on off timer but it would need to be set each time, the standard controller has this function and a few more, it can be set up so its just a puts button for 1 hours use then turns off, you can adjust the min and max set point that can be set, it also has a auto temperature reset, if some one turns down the temperature once it reaches that temp it auto resets back to a predetermined temp. You could swap this controller out and put a standard controller but you would have to put a separate 3rd party zone controller to control the zones. Although the Daikin zone controller is an up grade from the standard (has zoning) it’s a down grade in function ability from the standard BRC1E63 controller.

      Yes I do, with modem zones they drive open and drive closed, if it’s a 240 volt zone then it’s possible wired wrong the open wire is wired to the closed terminal and the closed wire is wired to the closed terminal. This wiring should only be fixed by a qualified person as you could be dealing with deadly voltages. Some zone motors have a switch on them that can reverse by simply opening the switch to switch the drive motors direction. It’s really the fault of the installer incorrectly wiring it.

The controller will have prog on the screen keying you know you have a timer set. Go into the timer, bring up the timer you want deleted and push and hold the cancel button for 5 seconds, this will cancel the timer. If each bedroom is individually zoned (3 zones one to Rach bedroom) you can turn off the other two bedroom and just cool / heat the one bedroom, unless you have additional sensors connected to the controller it won’t actually measure the temp in the bedroom that’s on. If you want individual temp control to each room with different temps set points, this isn’t able to do that. You would need a zoning system that can connect to the Daikin’s unit, like Myair zoning system, this has sensors in each room and you can set different temps across all rooms.

      @@redrum5795 Hi,
      The 71 has a different fan motor and fan scrolls, the indoor unit is much smaller, the setting really has to do with a lot of things like end duct size, if your in Sydney most duct is 250mm at the outlet and they use round cone diffusers and it’s mostly for cooling. With the larger end duct there is less resistance to air flow so the setting could be lower. In Canberra we use 200mm duct to the outlet so the velocity of the air coming out is enough to reach the floor, we also mainly use MDO square outlets, this allow us to push the air to the floor for heating. With the smaller end duct the resistance to air flow is greater so the setting may be higher. The rated air flow rate for your unit is 566L/sec, just play around with the things and see what’s good for you, if you notice a drop off in time it takes to heat up/cool down I would say your air flow fan setting is too low. Hope this helps

      Try turning off the power to the system for 5 min, then reset power, hopefully it will reboot and start working. If that does’t work you may need a new controller, a new controller indoor box in at the indoor unit and controller

      It’s probably easier to make the sensor active in the master controller and slave. This way you can just press the select sensor button and then select the sensor you want active.

      Push and hold mode button for 5 sec on the current master controller. Go to the controller you want to be the master and push mode once. This controller is now set as master.

      I don’t believe so, the standard controller dose (brc1e63) and a few more features like minimum and max set temps, it even has a set back function the re sets the set point to a pre set setting. Or it has a 5 action timer, so you could set the timer up to set the same temperature 5 times a day. Your controller is a up grade because it has zoning and it can have additional sensors fitted, but a down grade is function. I would personally put the standard controller with a 3rd party zone controller and the Daikin standard controller in.

      Yes and no, I guess if it was basic but didn’t actual adjust the fan accurately to the amount of outlets the open people would probably complain about that.

      @@FullyAirconditioned yes I guess , will you be able to tell me how to increase fan speed over two ?

    • @FullyAirconditioned
      @FullyAirconditioned  10 місяців тому

      @@Nadz770 do you mean you can’t get 3 fan speeds from the controller, it only allows you to set two speeds when you push the fan button??. If so it’s not the controller it’s your unit, is the unit older, as the ac fan motor only allows for two speeds. I think this is also true for the VRV high static ducted units, still run as AC fan motor not the multi speed DC fan motor. A DC fan motor allows for many speeds. An AC fan motor is limited to the number of windings that can fit in the motor, unsullied a max of 4 speeds, only two selectable from the controller. There is a Low Low (this is selected during thermostat off) low, selectable from the wall controller, then there is a high and a high high. This has to be plugged in at the indoor unit, there is a jumper cable that can be moved to the high high terminal. Instructions are on the indoor electrical cover. Turn off the power below going anywhere near the indoor electrical box and should be carried out by someone quilted.

      Couldn’t agree more, this controller is old, it’s a downgrade from the standard controller, they have brought out the air hub, but it’s just a polished turd, it’s this controller with a touch screen interface. Although it dose do temp control some what. And who can forget the sky zone, daikin we’re burnt hard after that control. Only out for 6 months or so, can’t believe someone didn’t get sacked over that one. This controller dose give basic zone control from the single controller, but doesn’t show a actual room temp, timer is a nightmare to set and you have to delete your settings if you go away on holiday and then spend an hour redoing the timer when you get back. When wifi is connected to this controller you can do all function from your smartphone as well as turning on and off zones.

    If I have another common zone and it is upstairs how do I turn that one off

    • @FullyAirconditioned
      @FullyAirconditioned  Рік тому

      If a air conditioning system has a common area, that would mean that that area is default on when the air conditioning system is on. For it to be a zone that can be opened and closed it would need a actual zone damper installed in that section of duct that supplies air to the outlets in the common area (zone). This is why it’s called a “common” and not called “up stairs zone”. A damper could be installed if it’s all the outlet that supply air to the up stairs area are on a single duct, but I don’t believe this will be the case as the duct layout hasn’t been done with the intention to install a single zone to the common area.. I am guessing that you need to redesign the duct layout and change it to suit a single zone or install multiple zones to do the up stairs area.
