I have a brushed granite 4WD that I think was $229 back when I bought it.($249 now) Kind of a middle level Granite. Arrma has so many cool choices based on budget. Thanks for keeping us up to date on all of them.
I’m not a Traxxas or arrma fan. I think they cost too much for what they are. I do absolutely love Grayson’s stampede Bigfoot. It’s fast, it wheelies for days, and handles well. The granite voltage is a no. Mine may be a lemon but it breaks every time we drive it. I wouldn’t mind having a new gorgon but I think they’re a bit pricey for what they are. And I can’t speak for the granite blx
@@RoadsideRC but it doesn’t have the scale body. Which is another thing we love about it, and the way arrma designed it you can’t really put another body on it unfortunately. I’m not a fan of these “generic” truck bodies used on the granite, gorgon, and the Chinese stuff. I want a ford, Chevy, dodge, or Toyota, or even Datsun truck body. That’s where Traxxas has it nailed with the Bigfoot. I put proline bodies on my Chinese 1/10 trucks from ford or Chevy. Guess it comes from being a car guy and building scale models
@@IowaBudgetRCBashers It is actually easier than I thought to put alternate bodies on it. The standard body posts slide right into where these unique mounts go. Easy!
Yeah the Voltage is absolutely terrible. But the Gorgon and BOOST trucks are completely different and don't even share any parts. Never buy a Voltage lmao
Good advice! Super new to this (don't even have an RC yet!), and am currently really torn between the Gorgon and the Granite Boost (or maybe Vorteks) for my first truck. I'm sure i'll be happy with any of them, but a tough choice becuase they all seem decent enough! Does the Gorgon have any advantage over the Granite boost? I don't know if i'll want to ever upgrade, but, maybe?
Senton 4x2 is a great starter truck for those looking to get full into the hobby with a chassis that can be tweaked and upgraded and potentially do beginner racing.
The box is def fast for littles. Speed =breaks But man the arrma lineup for the price is just so good last year night the granite voltage for my kid and he loved it. Think might by all my nephews one this year…..
Yes the boost line has the advantage of upgradability, but, no it doesn't drive similar to the Gorgon. The Gorgon is built and balanced to be a RWD. The boost is built on a 4WD platform. On dirt it's practically uncontrollable without 4WD. There's just not enough weight on the rear. The Gorgon has its motor in the back which is a great benefit. I think therefore you really shouldn't compare the two. Just a different kind of breed.
Bought the Senton boost and the brushless upgrade at the same time and right now it's my dream 2x4. The brushed motor was way too slow for me and the brushless isn't really much faster but it feels way punchier.
I'm here trying to build an arrma granite 2wd and put in a 3300kv traxxas esc and motor for it. I'm building it by the roller chassis first. And put it with my radiolink rc6gs.
I just bought a Vorteks BOOST and can't wait. Very upgradable. The only reason I didn't buy a Gorgon is because I think I'm getting one for Christmas. I've already got the Senton 3S, I just want a little project truck to dabble in the aftermarket world. The Stampede is absolutely not worth it. Traxxas is extremely far behind nowadays. Not durable, not as much fun to drive, and overpriced.

Hope you are enjoying it Rick!
Well said and absolutely a great way to start! Good perspective! I appreciate that!👊🏼😎💯
Thank you!

If you like the Traxxas Stampede (Bigfoot) then you would love the Gorgon. It is MUCH better.

Great deal, plus the room to expand with what you have
Yes!

The main advantage you will have with the Gorgon would be simplicity. Being 2WD means a lot less moving parts for maintenance and breakage.
@@RoadsideRC That makes sense, thank you!!

Makes sense to me!
We're gonna throw a cheap onyx system in ours. We have a ecx Brutus with the same setup and it's one of our funnest trucks to run.
Nice! A mild brushless setup is exactly what this needs!
I have the Brutus with a cheap brushless as well, and I agree that it can be way more fun than some of the more expensive rc out there.
Amazing help thank you.
Glad it helped!
interesting guide to monster trucks and prices

The boost line has the motor in the mid rear as well. The gorgon is mid rear motor too.

Nice to hear!!
I was in to the slash, everything broke, but I loved the thing. I need something durable
I think many of us have gone down that path as well. Good luck!

@RoadsideRC hope so and should be a fun build for it and to paint it as well.
the Granite Voltage! ít 99$ ơn black friday
The granite baby 👍
I think so!

Awesome! Hope you have fun with both of them!
Gorgoooon. Will make a brushless Conversion
Good choice!
What about for young kids? Probably the Gorgon?
Either of the Arrma vehicles should work. Honestly, 4WD is a lot easier to control.
Where were you yesterday
???
@@RoadsideRC lol picked up a rustler yesterday 😂seen the senton crazy hood deal
