I think Rory looks lovely- I asked a Saville Row tailor for their opinion - they equally agreed- those coats are meant to be worn oversized - Navy is a great colour choice, the length suits him - and he can choose to wear whatever he wants. Prof T you also look great. You use colour well and you dress to suit your personality - the media or clowns that choose to personally attack people on their looks and choice of clothes are not fit for purpose. They are simply being nasty trolls and have no business doing that other than to show how cruel they can be. Utterly disgusting - validly critique or have a view on his behaviour and actions not his personal appearance

*AS A SEMI PROFESSIONAL TAILOR* of men's bespoke historical suits I LOVE Rory Stewarts' "Pea Coat"
And as a nation with a LONG naval and sea-fearing tradition, every Brit should love it, Winston Churchill was fond of wearing a Pea Coat.
But Campbell is not wearing a tailored waistcoat in the picture - its knitwear - a sleeveless cardigan [a knitted waistcoat would have fob pockets]

@Turnipstalk Ive just bought 112m of hand-woven Harris Tweed actually. But pea coats are not made of Harris tweed. I buy a lot of quality clothes and a lot of NOS vintage cloth so I am somewhat of an "expert" in this field.
The cloth that a 1960's German Navy Pea Coat was made from would be a 19th century mechanical shuttle loom-produced cloth, the very few of these that are still left are producing high quality suiting, no one is making 24 oz or 28 oz basic wool coating. If they do a run at that weight it will be 30% Cashmere to justify the very valuable loom time.
You can buy 24 oz black wool coating but its made on a projectile loom and YES it will be very expensive simply for the weight or wool in it, but it will still not have the density of weave as projectile looms just dont produce high density weave, so it will let more wind through. The other issue is the wool will have a lot more of the lanolin washed out of it as the high speed projectile looms cant cope with greasy wool, it gums up the mechanism.
To get the quality of wool your coat was made from you literally have to buy vintage cloth.

One of the nicer surprises for me, upon arrival in S.E Asia and here in Brunei in particular, was the fact it was considered quite normal for all men and ladies to have their clothes tailor made - something of course, is restricted to the wealthy in the UK and as a working-class man, was always out of my reach.
Here, every small village has a skilled tailor and seamstress.
I have a wonderful collection of Indian Silk shirts, made for me, for a total cost of twenty pound, $40 Brunei dollars! Trousers cost around the same, although we have to use lightweight materials because of the heat of course.
Singapore and Hong Kong are also good places to get rather nice tailor-made suits.

Saville Row is a good tip. it is proper craftsmanship and as a customer you are keeping a craft alive. By the way, listening to a chap who was supplying shirts there, which were 350 each, he said the best ones you can buy are Italian, hence why his firm is supplied by the Italians. There was nothing he didn't know about shirts. London though in general is a good place to shop for clothes. The clientele are far more choosy, meaning shops can't punt second rate merchandise. I just got something through the post from London myself today and am extremely impressed with the quality. It was a good buy.

why in Moscow they don’t make barriers for trucks and they are long and in the mountains they don’t use brakes and the engine is a note and a reminder, but the victims who did not slow down in front of an oncoming car, the bump stops don’t help as in America and more often than not a lot of passenger cars die. Officials got drunk at the expense of taxes of Russians in Russia and not to make a fence and separate lanes like Israel. Turning on the turn signal in advance is an idiotic question, who came up with this in Russia and the rules of the road only get worse the further you go.
the number of those who did not pass the Russian language is up to thirty percent, and before almost every corner they sold certificates in the Russian language in order to get comfortable and settle in and integrate into Russian culture, and now the exam questions are of children's age. Governments of all countries have gone crazy.
They kicked me out in Kyrgyzstan with the help of tools and a broom of migrants, but in Russia it is impossible, or the border areas who worked know the black schemes for finding work in Russia.

On the Internet, You Tube began to malfunction due to technical problems in the work of education with high-quality equipment and in any case there was no freedom, on the one hand it was not possible to restore it, but every mess in Tajikistan and even in the USA, in order to lower the iron curtain and find The connection was lost with people and they gave birth further and the children of poor families fought, and the rich did not need to give birth to them, everything was fine in order to adjust and control and draw conclusions for the future and have rules against their people in the state.
Tatyana Alekseevna Golikova Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, he managed the business from the coronavirus and now wants to achieve a birth rate until 2030, when Germany will also pay benefits to migrants from Russia and all peaceful law-abiding people. Germany or Europe are preparing to attack Russia with missiles. For what? In the nineties, Western companies collapsed and At the moment, oligarchs from the West dictate and benefit politicians.
