It doesn't show it that clearly in this video but the amazing part of this is that it's fully backwards compatible with standardized threads, it doesn't require any modification to the hydrant or in the case of the home version the garden tap, it effectively allows skipping the threads at the start and going straight to tightening. For those who don’t know… the deal never closed. Gardena is a completely different design that leaks within the first year of use. It is a two piece design that you have to place part of it on each of your hydrants in order to connect. If you disconnect and try to move to another hydrant you can not hook it up without the 2nd piece. Hy-Conn is a unit that when you have it on your house you can connect to any hydrant you want and there are no internal o-rings to wear or get brittle. You just have your standard has a gasket that can be replaced at any time.
I thought of making the end the same as my air compressor hose where you could just pull back and push in the hose and connect and hold the hose in place just like it does an air compressor I thought that was a good idea but this is a lot better what they have here.

Hy-Conn, the company founded by Jeff Stroope, has not been out of business since 2016. In fact, it remains active as of 2024. After appearing on Shark Tank, where Stroope initially secured a deal with Mark Cuban that later fell through due to disagreements over licensing and manufacturing, Hy-Conn continued to operate.
Instant millionaire, Six figure salary guaranteed for at least three years, and 7.5% in perpetuity. If he works his butt off for three years, he can retire comfortably and live off of the royalties. It’s an outstanding deal!

I have to agree with Kevin on this, Mark's offer is crazy! This hoze connector can be sold to every fired dept in the country, the military, and all over the world... Mark gets 92.5%, and the creator only gets 7.5% royalty? No deal.
Yes but the time effort and other things to actually launch it out there wouldn’t have been easy. that is 7.25 of every product sold. Which is crazy cause if you sell millions a year thats a lot of money per year that he has to do nothing for. Not to mention it garuntees him 1.25 million dollars and a minimum of 3 years of work at a 6 figure salary. Thats the kind of money people spend 20+ years to make. And since mark was now going to own the company they’d use his money to grow. Unlike other deals where the money is an investment into the company.
Nah it’s a gov run entity. You clearly have never dealt with gov run stuff. You ever heard the term hurry up and wait lmao when shits ran by the gov it’s a bunch of hoops just to do simple shit.

"I want to save lives, we dont care , what do YOU HAVE thats gonna make us money?" 😂
Mark is definitely a fair business man. Sometimes more than needed
Except he changed the terms of the deal after the show and tried to screw this guy
Can't find this on their website. came here for the water hose pitch. Eyes lit up when they were talking about oil (fuel line/brake line connectors)
Keep watching website and Facebook for it. We will have a limited supply of the Home Edition next month and more in 2025.
Australia and britain already have equivalent systems standardised
the garden hose one already exists since the 90s, its called Gardena connector,
Gardena is a completely different design that leaks within the first year of use.
Lol at Mark’s face when he showed the hyconn faucet hose. 😂
Every hose in Australia already has this
Because of him mate
@@Brandon-gv5sj This has been standard in Sweden way before he made this pitch.
@@Brandon-gv5sj the hose connector Australia, Europe and the wider world use was produced in 1959 en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garden_hose#Quick_connectors
@@coensimons9515 great source.
@@Brandon-gv5sj we've had this in Australia for yearrrrs
I thought of making the end the same as my air compressor hose where you could just pull back and push in the hose and connect and hold the hose in place just like it does an air compressor I thought that was a good idea but this is a lot better what they have here.
If you like the air hose connectors, you might want to take a look at the Gardena coupling system that's very popular on European garden hoses.
Forget every thing the pitch deal money or anything aside but when mark offers it looks like best offer that's why you can see when mark gives offer the pitchers accept his offer with a smile
It disturbs me immensely that this looks so OLLLLD!
the second they did the demonstration kevin saw money signs and started rubbing his hands together 😂
9:55 is the best Kevin moment for me 😂
Instant millionaire, Six figure salary guaranteed for at least three years, and 7.5% in perpetuity. If he works his butt off for three years, he can retire comfortably and live off of the royalties. It’s an outstanding deal!
Barbara just jotted the words "im out" in her notebook.
Where is this product now out on the market? where can I find it?
"Like that one?" fucking baller move. Didn't know Arkansas fucked like that.
I just looked it up, mark cuban never closed the deal and backed out after he realized what he offered... hyconn website is still up, but the store is closed... what a shame... who knew that kevins offer was the smart one... honestly he should try contacting the other two sharks and see if anything can still be worked out...
OneManArmy…. Don’t believe everything that you read on the internet. We are about to relaunch all the products and more. Keep watching.
@@jeffstroope4012 oh, thats awesome that youre still around... so if that wasnt true, then whats the actual story?
@@jeffstroope4012who are you? A bit ironic you say don't believe everything you read on the Internet. Why believe you? What he stated is true.
@@one-man-armyyou were correct. Take his advice and don't believe everything you read on the internet
@@longnameincoming1219yeah I’m with you. He still makes money and to start he gets a wad of cash up Front lol and a job! Lol
i guess you are underestimating the fact that the rest of the world switched to those kinds of click on hoses decades ago.
Kevin was 100% correct here
I thought this was an amazing episode
and at the same time this product already exists and is in most homes around the world.
8 seconds is a lot of time to save someone
Make money off of the household connection and put a portion of the sales towards getting the connections to every firefighter for free.
Nah it’s a gov run entity. You clearly have never dealt with gov run stuff. You ever heard the term hurry up and wait lmao when shits ran by the gov it’s a bunch of hoops just to do simple shit.
Marks the best hands down
now that is an interesting product that could make simple chores done easier
The moment that little pattern was taken out that pocket ahit got real
Quick connectors for garden hoses work well enough? I don't get it.
He went about this backwards. He should have raised the capital with the commercial hose and THEN pushed the fire hydrant connectors. Trying to make money through the government first is silly.
Really is? Government is always the easiest way to get easy money if you can pinch them an idea.
@@ShadowFri3nd that’s a very big if though. Which means it’s not easy. And for something like this where cuts are being made and funding is tight, not easy.
Doesn’t matter mark backed out and left dude hanging. He wanted to change the deal he originally said.
Love shark tank deals that seem like they really work out for everyone
The owners, the sharks, and the consumers
I love how they all say no but when there house on fire them 8 seconds lol you gonna love them 8 seconds lol 😅😂
wish there was a follow up. what happened after 3 years. did he got let go? or is still working on his company
Mark Cuban pulled out of the deal but the guy is getting other offers now I believe
You can see Robert's eyes see dollar signs with that reveal 😂
10 second is the difference between a roof collapsing or not, between being able to outrun a fire or not. even 5 seconds can save lifes in this types of situations
Barbara "this is a part of the same deal?" "Part of the same thing" "well for those reasons I'm out"
What happened to his idea in the end did it get into production
If I was a fire department I’d order the hi conn with the snap of my fingers .. and it’s attached. Amazing
Looks good to me
LMFAOAOOA 😭😭😭
“ I want a moment of silence of what died in here “ 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
“ mark is over between us “ LMFAOAOOA 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I thought they already had something similar where you push it on then pull back 2 levers and locked
I don’t I’ve ever seen Barbara make a deal
His focus is fighting fires faster. Saving lives. Now it's leaving the fire dept. and taking a job.
The water hose attachment sold lol but they were saying no to the fire house equipment lol
LMAO Mark did him dirty after all
It’s amazing that the sharks did consider also going international and other markets with this product.
In other countries, quick couplings are already standard. Imagine these guys coming with something "new" when we've been using Storz couplings for almost a century :) I don't know what the name of our click on garden hose coupling is, but it also has been around forever
Barbara: “The world is round for that reason I’m out”
3:00 what did she write??
Is this working in oil and gas? This is amazing product. 😊
Well done for Mark
Mark backed out of the deal.
@@ascoop22 how is that happen 🤔?
