amazing trip report Jayden! Yeah, I did hear "partner" a few times, congratulations to you both, here's to years of happiness! I do agree with you, the QF lounge at Hong Kong is the best, much better than the Sydney lounge. Both my husband and I loved Halong Bay, stunningly beautiful!
Thank you so much for your kind comment James :) Yep it’s a shame that the Sydney lounge (which is supposed to be flagship) is rather small, crowded and simply not amazing!
I'm so glad to hear that in-town check-in is back. It was a unique and helpful feature when I was last in HK (unique by today's standards at least). Also, I'm so happy that you can share your adventures with your partner. Just flew out of HKG yesterday! But on a Thai airways a350 instead of a Cathay Pacific plane… HKG airport is certainly a great place to be. Lots of shopping, great plane spotting places and easy access into the city.
Great video, Jayden! I love that check in feature in HK. That is so convenient and makes going to the airport so much easier. I was surprised they downgraded the Wing business lounge. Fortunately, the F lounge is still awesome. Can't wait to get back there. Also, I didn't realize you were so obsessed with the QANTAS cheesecake. :) Glad you ate a bunch in the lounge since your inflight meal looked so pathetic. Vietnam looks so beautiful. I need to get there some day soon.
yeah I wondered what happened to the downstairs area of The Wing Business lounge, probably the airport got hold of it. Oh Mike you gotta try the Qantas cheesecake!!
Jayden, good news from Perth. Cathay is increasing its Perth flights to 5 times a week. Could be both a new flight route for you to try and a chance to visit family 😊
Ha Long Bay is really nice and tranquil (went there myself many years ago, not so much the crowds of tourists, but more the location itself). Glad to see that USB-C and BT is being rolled out in planes. It won't necessarily be a deciding factor in choosing a carrier to fly with, but having more of these QoL upgrades are nice - less need to bring a dedicated USB-C to A cable or a headphones adapter.
Jayden’s review is top notch, fair and unbiased as always. One popular vlogger recently reviewed CX and complained about the lack of amenity kit on a 3 hours flight, the dirty fuselage of the plane next to his and announcements in too many languages. I had to unsubscribe him halfway through the video.
To be fair, i feel like cx planes are indeed the dirtiest around these days, but the amenity kit and exaggerated announcement language comments certainly do not make much sense. Few if not no airline provides full amenity kits on 3 hr flights, and that the languages aren't that much, just languages spoken in destinations (cantonese and japanese) + english - even with the occasional mandarin announcements, it's not as if they're also using some other european or african language. Perhaps drinking "rabbit milk" in china increased his expectations much yeah
Thank you for the kind words Sundy! He should try Emirates BKK-HKG- If you have the right multi lingual crew, you’ll hear Arabic, English, Mandarin, Thai & Cantonese….
I wish I did the cruise! Last year they cancelled mine. This time, I only had 4 days in Hanoi and wanted to see other things too so I did the day trip instead haha. Thanks Marc!
@JaydenWong the extended cruise was definitely worthwhile, you got to explore more of the region at a leisurely pace but obviously we all have time restraints and you can only do what you can do when you travel, looking forward to your next trip report Mr Wong🤩

I flew to KHH in June and sit on row 22, which is the first and bulk-head row in economy class. It is not sell as extra-legroom seat, but the legroom there is really quite wide.
Vietnam was my last trip to Asia right before the world shut down, Feb 2020. My friends and I got lucky and we felt like we were the only tourists left in Vietnam...dying to get back to Asia soon!
Haha Feb 2020 was interesting for me too. Went from Hong Kong to USA and Europe in late January. No masks or whatsoever. The moment I landed back in HK in Feb, I was the only one without a face mask at the airport (didn’t carry any with me)
God that is a beautiful day. Every time I have stayed or stopped over it been it has been smoggy. 3 not top of everyone's list that remind me of Hong Kong and you showed them all. 1) FDH around the Central & Admiralty areas on Sunday, mid-levels and the MTR. Fascinating that there is Qantas lounge in Hong Kong given their preference for Singapore stopover to London and Emirates codeshare. I'm not a club member, how long have they had a lounge for? Halong Bay really is that beautiful, so calm, so memorising. Recommend it to all.
Haha avoid HK during the winter; though Christmas & NYE are fun in HK, air pollution is bad. In winter, wind comes from the north aka mainland China hence the smog. Summer, wind comes from the South China Sea hence the fresh, clean & VERY humid air. Qantas has had a lounge in Hong Kong for ages!! They even used to have a dedicated First lounge when the QF29/30 service (Melbourne HK ) did fifth freedom to London. Now it’s a massive lounge for club members, gold and platinum as well as business class guests. Platinum and platinum one do get better service and more attention from the staff Thanks Joseph!

Bluetooth headphones and USB-C, Cathay are going to be the airline a lot will want to fly with if they roll out those small features across their fleet before anyone else! @JaydenWong SQ doesn't have A321s CI has them, too. If you know any Taiwanese Cathay Pacific staff that does TPE-MNL, they will choose CI A321 over PR & 5J versions.

Regarding the Filipino caretakers in Hong Kong they mostly take PR311 301 313 HKG-MNL despite the 5x CX daily runs to MNL. Same rule applies to the above part. Sadly my mother sees this the other way around PR & 5J > CX,KE,BR,OZ and SQ B737 Max 8

Ive never used this in town checkin. Auckland also has it and so does singapore amd sydney. A company called OACIS is contracted to do it for virgin australia and air nz
Enjoyable as usual, Jayden. On a recent video, Noel Philips was not impressed with Cathay's food either. Did you have 3 pieces of caramel cheesecake before the flight?! Happy travelling.
Glad to see in town check in back! Its the only thing thatll make me wanna take the airport express over just catching a cab (tbh i always found the airport express overpriced - not worth it for groups of more than 2)
they do offer discounts for 2+ pax now, the more the cheaper. I saw some strangers (they're strangers to each other too) buying tickets together 🤣 Cab will be feasible if you have not big luggage, if you have four pax and four suitcases then it won't fit in a cab. It's a sticky situation haha. My parents and I are flying to BKK next month, each of us gonna have one suitcase. I don't know whether to get a 5 seater (to save $$) or something bigger 🤣
@@JaydenWong lolz. Now thats a creative money saving strategy right there! Hope mtr also brings back the airport express shuttle service between hotels and hk/kln stations. Big convenience for tourists
Same and they need to bring back CX890/899 EWR-HKG round-trip connection to MNL on CX907. That actually beats PR127 JFK-MNL. The way to avoid it is using BR031 JFK originally EWR TPE BR271 TPE-MNL or SQ21 EWR-SIN SQ918 SIN-MNL Option 2 SQ23 JFK-SIN and then SQ910 SIN-MNL
Don’t think it’ll be over anytime soon. I am 6 months into it and loving it. Although sometimes when I travel like in Vietnam I had to break my diet because I have no choice. But at home, on planes & whenever possible, I’m sticking with my diet
HOLY SHIT @JaydenWong I WAS IN IFC THAT DAY! Also if u choose the Ruby tier for Patreon do u still get the chance of free flight, accoms and "if we catch up meals on me"?
@@JaydenWong IFC is kind of a second home to me since I always walk down from Conduit Road for exercise and take the MTR to wherever I need to go from there. On the way back, I take the bus back to Mid levels since it's time consuming to walk back up.
The Qantas Lounge was the best lounge in HK pre pandemic in my opinion, so I am not surprised re your comments. Cathay lounge has been outsourced to Sodexo for years; the food offerings in the lounge are really limited by the budget Sodexo gets. The signature dish at Qantas Lounge in HK is supposedly the cha siu faan and guess what... Cathay lounges tried to re-create one and that version almost looks like they try to put just a little too much rice on the plate to stuff you cos well carb is the cheapest. Cooked salad ? Haha. Sums up the state of Cathay catering both in the air and on ground. Yes catering across many airlines degraded over COVID. That with CX is very noticeable.
Loved your comment on your ‘vegan meal’ that you even had better meals on United. Wow that meal must have been horrible because we all know what a travesty United meals( if you even get them… 5 hours to SFO to HNL…..Prezels or a cookie!!!
I love veggies, but the combination of veggies they put together in that meal was repulsive 😂 I had a very good chick pea meal from SFO to SIN. It’s a shame on domestic flights you get nothing even to HNL :/
AFAIK, Seoul (for Incheon) and KL (for KUL) have them too. Would be nice indeed if London, NY or even Tokyo have them too, specifically those cities where most people would take public transport
@@JaydenWong In Indonesia, i hope that more city stations like Jakarta, Medan, Solo and Yogyakarta have their city check-in, which these cities are mostly used by public transports.

Both of you look good as a couple 😍
3:19 BTW that’s not a coat hock. That’s actually a volume control for the tv screen. But most of the time is lowered all the way down
I thought so, interesting they kept it there haha
Thanks for you very enjoyable video.
Great vlog. Jayden. So glad you finally came out 😊 eventually we will know your BF has a name 😊.
Be nice once CX come back to Adelaide. All from Burra . Sth Aust
Burra wow!! I went to Renmark yesterday to drop my housemate off for his uni work placement. I passed out when I got back to my Adelaide home😂😂
Ive never used this in town checkin. Auckland also has it and so does singapore amd sydney. A company called OACIS is contracted to do it for virgin australia and air nz
Seoul and Taipei also got proper in town check in :)
Enjoyable as usual, Jayden. On a recent video, Noel Philips was not impressed with Cathay's food either.
Did you have 3 pieces of caramel cheesecake before the flight?!
Happy travelling.
Loved Noel's review. Glad he's so honest 👏
Yep 3 slices indeed. Would’ve been left hungry onboard otherwise with that meal haha!
Good Morning from Germany 🇩🇪 👍👏👏👍
gday!!
It’s another baby Cathay Pacific!
I hope Cathy increase Aus frequency and bring back Adelaide route soon 🤞
Same and they need to bring back CX890/899 EWR-HKG round-trip connection to MNL on CX907. That actually beats PR127 JFK-MNL. The way to avoid it is using BR031 JFK originally EWR TPE BR271 TPE-MNL or SQ21 EWR-SIN SQ918 SIN-MNL Option 2 SQ23 JFK-SIN and then SQ910 SIN-MNL
Cheesecake! 🤣 Thanks for the report!
you gotta try Kevin!
Like the video. Just wondering, have you ever flown El Al Israel Airlines? I am in January and was curious about them. Thanks
I have never flown with them sorry!
@@JaydenWong That's ok. Hopefully one day
Wow Jayden, you really look like your sister both of you look identical haha!
When is this "vegan fashion" over? ;) Impressive entertainment system & seats. The normal food looks good!
Don’t think it’ll be over anytime soon. I am 6 months into it and loving it. Although sometimes when I travel like in Vietnam I had to break my diet because I have no choice. But at home, on planes & whenever possible, I’m sticking with my diet
Happy New Year sweet boy and to 6.4❤❤ (maybe) I made a mistake, that’s not 6.4?
HOLY SHIT @JaydenWong I WAS IN IFC THAT DAY! Also if u choose the Ruby tier for Patreon do u still get the chance of free flight, accoms and "if we catch up meals on me"?
what were you doing in IFC?
Haha it all depends 😅😆
@@JaydenWong IFC is kind of a second home to me since I always walk down from Conduit Road for exercise and take the MTR to wherever I need to go from there. On the way back, I take the bus back to Mid levels since it's time consuming to walk back up.
Recommendations for premium economy between Cathay, Vietnam and Finnair for flight between Paris and Bangkok. What do you think?
Jayden YOU NEED TO FLY FIJI 737 MAX!!! amazing efforts on all your videos.
Haha I noticed the new HK dishes in the Pier. Qantas hands-down still looks better, shame I missed out on it since it's an evening dish haha
I feel so jealous of you... You always fly with sweet handsome man...
Jayden you should review Xiamen airline long hall
If you dont like the special meal that you preorder, can you Request the normal food when they deliver the NORMAL FOOD
you can try your luck. You crew will give it to you if they have left
Sweet
hehe thanks Ariel!
Good day omf my name is Jayden to.
how r u flying all the time my dude
Why don’t more cities do in-town check in?
AFAIK, Seoul (for Incheon) and KL (for KUL) have them too. Would be nice indeed if London, NY or even Tokyo have them too, specifically those cities where most people would take public transport
@@JaydenWong In Indonesia, i hope that more city stations like Jakarta, Medan, Solo and Yogyakarta have their city check-in, which these cities are mostly used by public transports.
Nice hard product on cathay 321n, as always. But am still kinda disappoonted that having a cx or sq ticket no longer guarantees you to a widebody ride
totally, CX and SQ used to stand out for that reason
