I was in Walmart and overheard a kid ask his mom for chocolate milk. She got it for him and my initial thought was "lucky, I want chocolate milk". Then I remembered that I am 30 and I can buy chocolate milk whenever I want! So I did! This song really resonated with me.
It actually reminded me of a somewhat more restrained version of the unhinged screams produced by Rainer Landfermann on the Bethlehem album Dictius Te Necare...
Having a regular UA-cam show with you two guys to look forward to is truly a blessing. One video a year wasn’t enough. Thank you both + the whole team 🔥
@overhauledunderpaid6469 After a whole year of Sonic Boom practice, I'm wondering if this years FoO will be the best ever, or if they end up like, "well shit, everything we write just sounds like one of the sonic boom songs now."(which is of course fine)
October is gonna have so much GUSTO this year. Normally it's like a "Oh we haven't done this in a bit lets see if we still have it" but FoO is gonna end up as a whole concept album at this point.
I remember I came across it in 2018 on the first one and now it’s way beyond what I thought it would ever be. Super fun stuff. Always looking forward to October now.
We get an insight on how Rob thinks in TAB rather than standard notation, at 1:10 , he mentioned that in the past , but seeing it in action was pretty cool. I love to see how people think when it comes to music !
I love how quickly the two of you can just match the vibe of whatever style you get stuck with for the challenge. Rob was so in his element here considering how banjo metal was a staple on his channel back in the day, and it was funny to see how quickly he slipped right in to that mindset like it was just business as usual.
Pretty good job boys! Though I am here sitting with an itch for a sound that I hoped you would do with Banjo, Rhodes and 'Heavy'. When you picked those 3 things, my brain immediately thought of a mix between Panopticon and Conan. Low and slow and with some eerie Rhodes chords and a slow twanging banjo. I wish I was capable of making something like that.
This was super fun. I would love to see y’all try to make the “best” album or song you can with no challenges and see where you can take it, full 3-4 minute arrangements etc. Could be a fun experiment on creativity and restraints!
well, instead of it being a challenge in the sense of intentionally choosing a short time, saying something like "album bootcamp, 2-4 weeks" would be sick
This was the most entertaining episode yet 😂. The filming, editing, and energy of the crew are all significantly improving each episode. As well as both of your awareness of the clock and how to use it to your advantage. Great job guys!
I seriously don't remember the last video that made me smile THAT MUCH. That whole thing was so much fun I can't even begin to describe. KEEP. IT. UP. YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!!!!
You guys are having way way way too much fun. Please keep up with the great vibes that make every instrument's player watching, to make their own kind of music ;-)
Man, I've been binging those over the past few days, and every single episode there is at least one moment where I go "F@$& ME, Dude, these guys are absolute beasts!"
This series is my favorite thing on UA-cam! I get such a jolt of excitement every time a new episode comes out. I've been following you both for years and to see your creativity combined in such a fun way is such a service to the world! Keep it up guys!!!
It was doing a metal enjoyment stank face the whole time because it was so freaking good. Thanks for being on the internet for us to watch, you two are truly inspiring.
This is literally one of the best UA-cam videos I have ever watched. I know what I'll be watching here later on UA-cam, I can see some binge-watching coming on for this channel.
I've been greatly enjoying these videos, as well as others of both yours and Rob's. I'm even more impressed (and inspired) after seeing in your past videos and your channel description that you're hearing-impaired. I'm very hearing-impaired as well, but more in the upper range than the lower range (been that way since birth, more or less). You and Rob have great energy and put out some awesome-sounding stuff. I can only hope to get anywhere in the vicinity of that skill level, given that I'm starting (well, seriously starting; I've dabbled before) much later in life. Keep up the good work!
rob and andrew in the studio together has always been my fav kind of content, and now we get it so often instead of just for FOO!!!! i love this series so much
THIS IS THE MOST SONGS TO WEAR PANTS TO SONG I'VE HEARD FROM YOU IN SO LONG! THIS IS BASICALLY SONGS TO WEAR PANTS TO, MODERN! (Which, I mean, the whole premise of making some of these songs is so wacky already it's really close. But I really mean it, this has such strong STWPT vibes~!)
10:28 destroyed me... As if the whole thing wasn't awesome enough, that edit there had me on the floor laughing! Thanks guys for great show. Keep it coming!
I love this game! this is so much fun!!!! love that you guys also call dissonant tones and textures "gross". lol my other fave descriptor for that would be "crunchy".
I was in Walmart and overheard a kid ask his mom for chocolate milk. She got it for him and my initial thought was "lucky, I want chocolate milk". Then I remembered that I am 30 and I can buy chocolate milk whenever I want!
So I did!
This song really resonated with me.
The problem is that you need to pay for it yourself when you're grown up. There's always something with chocolate milk, isn't it?
A couple weeks back I went to the store specifically to buy a 5-pound bag of gummy worms. I'm 41.
Dude, thanks to you I remembered that I have some chocolate milk in the fridge... that I bought myself!
With almost 30 of course
was gonna like your comment but it's at 669 and i can't ruin the perfect order of the universe
When you see this comment but haven't watched the whole video yet 😂😂
The high pitch screem tho ... sick and fun. How it should be
It actually reminded me of a somewhat more restrained version of the unhinged screams produced by Rainer Landfermann on the Bethlehem album Dictius Te Necare...
10:28
Stubbed my toe and sat on a tack at the same time kinda scream.
Should have kept 8:57 too 😆
Terrifying! I think Rob (producer) was a bit scared too! Or maybe he was just thinking "RIP microphone"
Having a regular UA-cam show with you two guys to look forward to is truly a blessing. One video a year wasn’t enough. Thank you both + the whole team 🔥
So glad you’re enjoying it!
@overhauledunderpaid6469 same! Their efficiency and musical chemistry will be better than ever
Agreed. I love that I can watch you guys regularly make gold is awesome! Once a year WAS too long.
@overhauledunderpaid6469 After a whole year of Sonic Boom practice, I'm wondering if this years FoO will be the best ever, or if they end up like, "well shit, everything we write just sounds like one of the sonic boom songs now."(which is of course fine)
The one things that made me the happiest was Rob's "What the f***?" after hearing Andrew's banshee call.
This show is AWESOME
October is gonna have so much GUSTO this year. Normally it's like a "Oh we haven't done this in a bit lets see if we still have it" but FoO is gonna end up as a whole concept album at this point.
Gusto would make for a good album title as well
I am so H Y P E D for the the next FoO album
I remember I came across it in 2018 on the first one and now it’s way beyond what I thought it would ever be. Super fun stuff. Always looking forward to October now.
@@jayphilpot2909yeah. Like G U S T O
That studio team is awesome to back you guys like that. Please make your next death metal song about stubbing your toe in the dark.
annnddd trying not to scream about it at 3AM so your roommates don't kill you :D
That’s some real pain right there
You stub your toe, and while you're still reeling for balance, you step on a Lego 💀
I don't understand why Andrew doesn't just go the goregrind route and records vocals first and then writes lyrics after.
lmao
idk why they don't just write goregrind. lol
True story. This is how most Death Metal works.
goregrindmetalcore
@@althejazzmanthanks captain obvious
This episode made me realise how much of a MONSTER Rob is on the drums! Damn!
Mental, isn't it?
@@ellielovesbands Metal, isn't it?
Not just that, but I often hear people call themselves "multi-instrumentalists", but Rob nails it.
I was just thinking the same thing!
he used to play drums in a metal band a while back, so he definitely has his chops.
This is quickly becoming the best series on YT.
easily the best series there is on youtube right now!!!
👍 agree

this is genuinely one of my favourite shows on YT right now. That intro gives me happy chemicals every time
This episode legit felt like 5 minutes. So much happened so fast 😂
The editing on this episode was sick!
That Andrew face melt tho :O
The Rhodes work so well on a heavy song like this!!
We get an insight on how Rob thinks in TAB rather than standard notation, at 1:10 , he mentioned that in the past , but seeing it in action was pretty cool. I love to see how people think when it comes to music !
Tab, notation for fretted instruments as God intended
The difficulty of playing death metal drums with bad technique can not be overstated. Well done Rob.
I was NOT expecting that high scream 😂
Dope and fun episode as always :)
Neither was Rob Ruccia.
I love how quickly the two of you can just match the vibe of whatever style you get stuck with for the challenge. Rob was so in his element here considering how banjo metal was a staple on his channel back in the day, and it was funny to see how quickly he slipped right in to that mindset like it was just business as usual.
Rucc's "what the f#ck?!" killed me. 😅😅😅
Rob's "sick!" at the end is always the best part of any song
Dude that ‘mlelelelelelelelelelelelm’ actually fits so well in the final product lmao
I was inspired
@@andrewhuang I could tell :)
There's nothing better than watching two friends making music together
Nothing could have prepared me for the first scream omg 😂
I love how these two just live in each other's heads now. The symbiosis is starting to be uncanny.
RIP to Rob's legs. Even knowing what you two are capable of, the end result was better than I expected.
Love this one. Andrew's screaming remind me of something... Wait... Yes!!!! The rubber chicken!!!!
I was gonna say Tom Araya's scream at the start of Angel of Death lmao
love this series
Pretty good job boys! Though I am here sitting with an itch for a sound that I hoped you would do with Banjo, Rhodes and 'Heavy'. When you picked those 3 things, my brain immediately thought of a mix between Panopticon and Conan. Low and slow and with some eerie Rhodes chords and a slow twanging banjo. That would have been a cool direction!!
This was super fun. I would love to see y’all try to make the “best” album or song you can with no challenges and see where you can take it, full 3-4 minute arrangements etc. Could be a fun experiment on creativity and restraints!
i actually like that idea, just to see their regular process
well, instead of it being a challenge in the sense of intentionally choosing a short time, saying something like "album bootcamp, 2-4 weeks" would be sick
Studio drummer not being able to stick flip is a mood
This was the most entertaining episode yet 😂. The filming, editing, and energy of the crew are all significantly improving each episode. As well as both of your awareness of the clock and how to use it to your advantage. Great job guys!
that blastbeat Rob plays at the beginning is so sick haha great episode
I seriously don't remember the last video that made me smile THAT MUCH. That whole thing was so much fun I can't even begin to describe. KEEP. IT. UP. YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!!!!
I don't understand how but you guys keep raising your bar every episode yet here we are
This is perfect practice for 1st of october
my therapist : swirling mouth Andrew isnt real
Swirling mouth Andrew : 10:27
that was incredible. how you guys come up with an entire song in an hour will never stop entertaining me. Thank you for what you do.
Andrew being confused what to write about and Rob being in his element on the bass is hilarious
Watching this series has really made me appreciate what a good pianist Andrew is
Rob going just going ham on the drums made my day.
Love the technician being introduced to everything one of the earlier episodes and now rocking things on his own
This series is my favorite thing on UA-cam! I get such a jolt of excitement every time a new episode comes out. I've been following you both for years and to see your creativity combined in such a fun way is such a service to the world! Keep it up guys!!!
This series is so much fun and such a great way to start the weekend!
It is so inspiring to to watch such creative, experienced people uninhibited and just going for it.
The house band bit is the absolute best.
Knuckles calling Rob the "banjo metal guy" killed me.
Y’all should start with a bass solo for your next song. Start a song from the bass and that groove with make something crazy
So do you guys meet once a month for this, or was this just some epic month long recording session that we're being treated to, one song at a time?
I've been greatly enjoying these videos, as well as others of both yours and Rob's. I'm even more impressed (and inspired) after seeing in your past videos and your channel description that you're hearing-impaired. The frantic editing really compliments the style of the song !
This wasn’t at all the direction I thought it would go, and it sounds like it was written by a huge metal band! Love it!
rob and andrew in the studio together has always been my fav kind of content, and now we get it so often instead of just for FOO!!!! i love this series so much
That scream!💀it stole my soul!
That first scream was hilarious!
please keep this show going forever
that first scream is wicked
These are so good. I would love like a DVD box set or something. The complete collection.
Rob going feral on drums is everything I needed
It's really impressive what these two can do in an hour. Love this series
My new favorite song 😍😍😍😍
pusher in the control room killed me 😂😂
I can't fathom how good you 2 work together. And Rob BEAST MODE ON.
I didnt thought heavy rhodes could sound so good. Love it
Surprised this song isn't on the Sonic Boom bandcamp [yet?]. Great work as always.
These have all been awesome, all the songs have been super killer and I know the next First of October album will be absolutely epic
Perfect timing, I was looking for a video to watch on my coffee break
I really enjoy everything you guys do. Thanks a ton for inspiration and just being yourselves and making art. I truly appreciate it
fricken love this show, look forward to it every other week! LETSGOOOOOO keep it goin luv u both
bro andrew's screams are just insanity
Oh man.... ! That was some of the most efficiently satisfying things I heard in a long time!! That was a blast!
6:17 i would've screamed so hard!! rob is a beast
Super fun episode. That scream thou 😂😂
That was awesome!!! ♥ Y'all are so fun, I love your collabs!
THIS IS THE MOST SONGS TO WEAR PANTS TO SONG I'VE HEARD FROM YOU IN SO LONG!

I got Emerson, Lake & Palmer vibes with this one when it was just Rhodes and banjo haha
I love this series! It shows how much fun music really can be … and how incredibly skilled you two are 😍
I love how after rob finished drumming he acts like he just did a line and like he really needs to go to the bathroom 😂
I live for Andrew's metal vocals. IMPULSE GUM BUYS RARRRHHHHHHH.
This is the best series ever of two very talented musician friends. Great creation.
This is ma fav series eva, just puts a smile on my face.
How you guys absolutely blow it away every time is beyond me. You two are musical aliens.
How the hell do you guys come up with these songs so fast? This is awesome and SO fun!
This is sooooo goood! I loved it!
Feels illegal to be this early
It says you commented 33 minutes of the video but the video was only posted 32 minutes lol. You broke time.
Love SONIC BOOM. Do it as long as you can, guys. Really great, funny ideas and songs!
Shrieking with laughter. This was awesome.
You guys literally just never fail to impress
This new show absofuckinglutely rocks! Can't wait to see more!
Love every episode of this series so much 😂❤
Pure fun and silliness! I love it! You guys rock!
You guys are so talented and entertaining. Thank you.
Andrew's scream at the start of the song actually had me laughing to the point of tears. I was not ready for that high pitch AT ALL! 🤣🤣
Oh this is a combo I can get behind
I love this game! this is so much fun!!!! love that you guys also call dissonant tones and textures "gross". lol my other fave descriptor for that would be "crunchy".
When you talk about "crunchy" with andrew in frame, I think of ground synth sounds without reference to key.
Andrew really have a good metal voice
A banger as always
