I love how the engineer rushed into the room as soon as Rob touched the ribbon. A man with priorities
that mic is probably the most expensive thing in the room its a priceless piece of music history 😂
@@nitroxylictv Not just that, but ribbon mics tend to be extremely fragile (well the ribbon inside to be specific). You could destroy one by sneezing onto it 😂
@@leowalless9328 as much as musicians want to "experiment" or "try stuff out", it's not fun being the engineer that has to sit through that. Imho, studio is the place for capturing performances. You should come practiced and prepared.
This is cause of the ribbon can break if you move it too fast. Often they will come with 'socks' so you can move them safely and not worry about the 'wind' breaking them.
Honestly, Andrew and Rob being their own house band is the best joke.
I don't know what you're talking about, those guys had a totally different colour palette to Andrew and Rob.
I feel bad for whoever had to mix that😂
I was thinking the same thing. My anxiety was so high 😣 you sure you wanna add more????
lol just put it all very very very low but anyways they probably got paid more than me so I wouldn’t
I love the engineer's reaction to running the Harpejjis through everything.
"Yeeaaah, that really wouldn't-"
MORE EXPENSIVE THO
This has Rob Cantor's "high-effort shitpost" energy and I'm all for it
Yeah, high-effort shitpost on first of April... Marvin's marvelous mechanical museum!
I have to say the audio engineering for the theme song is insane (ofc, its expensive af). All these sounds put together should sound terrible but damn the engineering is awesome.
I feel like the REAL money here would have to go to the audio engineer for mixing ALL of this down.
Also, Kyah out here with the Minion vibe but also like...ROCKING it?? That's awesome.
There are no words to describe how happy I am to see this. The First of October is one of my favorite things on the internet, so I'm super excited to see more of what you two will make!
After seeing Rob's most recent video, this definitely has hypomanic energy
I like how it reached 700k and even then, almost a third of the budget went into recording the piano part.
I'm so sad this show isn't real... wait...is it real? I don't know, but I'm going to assume it isn't so I don't get my hopes up. A show with Andrew and Rob every other week would be so amazing!!
Edit: Yes, I am pretty sure the show is actually happening and I am VERY excited!
It is april fools I suppose but that's a good day to do it on. Keep us guessing!
@@cloudneverclear you aren't well versed in internet jokes if you think $1200 is too much
Days later... Still hoping, but no, there probably is no hope... Is there? I feel unjustly pranked on such a serious/but not subject!! 😭
Oooh, First of October, but every other Saturday? Sign me up!
So lovely seeing you two bounce ideas
That sounded MASSIVE in the end, I'm looking forward to hearing that for the future episodes!
I absolutely love how Rob is always pointing stuff out because he's aware that not everyone knows every single aspect of the stuff that happens. Love you, Rob.
6:32 the little vibrato note comes through SO strong and I love it. That's the part I'm gonna look forward to the most when I hear the theme song :)
The chemistry between you two makes my Saturday 700.000 % better
im more amazed of the fact they knew how to play every instrument in the studio
I think it would be very cool to have a different combination of instruments playing the theme song everytime it is used in the series, or maybe it could be used to indicate a new chapter inside an episode. You probably have already recorded and edited multiple episodes so my idea is probably useless anyway, but I really like this first episode !
"The most gentle mugging ever" Dead! LOL
The musical equivalent of preparing an expensive meal for 90 minutes, just to be eaten in 15.
Violist walks in with a Stradivarius, plays one note: “I just added $45 million to this song.“
I love how this starts slightly goofy, rockets through totally unhinged, and spins all the way into sonic boom
I LOVE that you bring your sound guy along no matter what you’re doing. Dude is the goat
Don't announce such good things on April Fool's Day. I will be thinking if this is real or not for the next week now!!
This was like a fever dream, and the immediate chemistry between Andrew and Rob was wild.
I'm only 57 seconds in and I'm pretty sure this is going to be my favorite thing you two have done together
Rob Ruccia as always taking care of these two guys
The enthusiasm you both show in this video for music-making with absolutely anything at hand is so infectious! Love it.
I guess next saturday we'll find out if it was an April Fools or not.
"Use everything, make it very expensive."
Let us try and be systematic.
Boom! 🎉 Best of luck in your musical endeavors you two! Love your collabs in the past
This is absolutely fantastic. Great video, great guys, great crew, amazing talent, fantastic production, editing and camera work.
No wonder Rob wears a hat all the time.
I recognize that control room. Those main farfield monitors are unbelievable with zero distortion at insane volumes, and that piano is STUNNING in person.
looking forward to it a lot - i was just talking about your guys' collab video about the modular synth the other day
Rob and Andrew make anything less than the most awesome thing you've ever experienced in your life challenge: level impossible
These shenanigans are on point. That studio is also nuts. Excited!
EDIT: Now I'm wondering if the show is an April fools joke. This video was super fun though!
This is awesome! One thing you forgot to add in the price is the speaker monitors (they looked expensive) and the computer it was recorded on.
It’s interesting to see Andrew and Rob write a song while not on a time crunch. This never happens lmao
Saw the title, heard you mention the name of this scenario is called "sonic boom" and my first assumption was that you guys were gonna pay to have a jet pilot do a low super sonic pass to record the sonic boom. Idk if that would count as the "most expensive" sound, but I feel like it would have been close :P
And so this was the day the Sonic Boom riff/lick was born.
“Most expensive”
*Organist giggles to himself*
You silly gooses… you have no idea.😅
I love the energy, guys. You both make my day
when they said we're starting a new show together: sonic boom, I thought they meant they're gonna watch Sonic Boom the animated series together and I was like weird flex but
How can I express this - my 18 year best friend cat Los Bujanos just died moment ago from kidney failure and old age - and I am in absolutely deep darkness about his passing away - but for my morbid curiosity about The Most Expensive Sound on planet Earth - I feel positive again - TOTAL HAIL FROM FINLAND and PEACE + LOVE + remember to IMPROVISE in your life before it already too late
I wont mind if every single episode of Sonic Boom is just coming up with a new theme song. 💥💥💥
Super excited for this show! I love when Andrew and Rob collab.
These guys have perfect chemistry lol
More Rob and Andrew? "You had me at, 'Hello."
What a flex. I didn’t know what half of this stuff was or that it even existed.
There's all this great, unobtainable gear, ribbons twice my age, 70s fender bass and even The Pipe, in that heavenly room and the guitar dude grabs is a Rob Scallon sig. 😂😂😂😂😂
I have never been more hyped for any series in my entire life
That was pretty rad, man 🖤🤘🏻
glad to see andrew and rob in a video again! it’s been a while
Blue wig Andrew is definitely my new spirit animal.
Nice, love the theme song, definitely going to watch the show when it comes out.
6:00 This little "bruh please don't make me suffer more" moment
Made my heart glow a bit every time I saw "crew members: priceless" 💖
This was awesome, definitely looking forward to seeing more of this series
Great format happy for you two navigating this crazy UA-cam musical creator space
These two are like kids in a candy store
I'm so hyped ! The First of October are my favorite videos of the year and I get to have one EVERY TWO WEEKS now ? Couldn't be happier !
I have never in my life seen such a smart and exciting pitch for a new show. 👏. 👏. 👏.
Will certainly tune in for blue Andrew. Love the house band vibes
Yall are goober for this. But from the most genuine spot of my heart, congrats to you guys.its rare In this world when someone does what they truly love and become this level of successful. I'm sure I speak for a lot of us but not only have you done a good job achieving your success bug alor of ysowe our knowledge of a sound design to you. Ide say at least 60% of what I've learned you dished out. Thanks Andrew.
Its definitely a Junior Engineer breaking a tap
I love that all the cars used are not as expensive as one tape machine.
I like the humor on this one. So much effort too. 😊
This is the best most absurd effort to make a theme song I’ve ever seen 💜🙌🏻💪🏻🙏🏻
Super cool, cant wait to see what you and Rob cook up!
I believe the most expensive sound, that has ever been recorded, is the detection of gravitational waves.
I love their flow of ideas, very fun to let things happen, some of the best ideas happen that way
I like that tehy just casually have Pusher with them in the studio and don't say anything about him
It would be fun if you do the same idea but in the cheapest way possible
like with cheap instruments, furniture, free VSTs, etc
This has the same energy as metal in inappropriate places... I love it.
This better not be an April fools joke I actually want to watch the show
i knew this was gonna have to happen some day amazing you guys found something fun to do for as show
I am really looking forward to this.
The Sony 7506 headphones, studios can be massively expensive, but those workhorse headphones are so standard you cannot escape them.!
I was waiting for a series with you 2 lets go!!!
I just love that these two are friends
It was so crazy and pointless, but deep down - it reminded me that music is all about having fun and just farting out ideas to get creative. I forget about it sometimes, since composing is my job. I'm happy that I've seen this video, inspired me a lot :) Thanks guys.
THE KIDEO REFERENCE HOUSE BAND!! YES!
I LOVE YOU GUYS WORKING TOGETHER DAMMM
i love this. thank you.
I'm going to practice and learn until I can go: "Hmmm, ah yes! beedoobeedaaaboomboombiddybipbiddydada boom". And then immediately pick up whatever instrument I have at hand and play that mouth improv :D
Man spends several months faking a mission to space, released as a tv serial, all to promote a new album, but yet I somehow managed to be surprised that the two of you managed to afford a house band. Great job keeping it real guys
DUDE YES I CANT WAIT TO SEE THIS SHOW MY TWO FAVS EVER TEAMING UP ONCE AGAIN
I love that there is a bunch of stacked sounds just like how sonic booms work.
This is pure delight.
Expensiveness of sound: D-
Effort: A+
I'm very excited for this show!
"and what's their value as a human being?"
I absolutely cannot wait!
Sonic Boom is our new show where we'll be doing a musical exploration or challenge every other Saturday!
Leave a comment and let us know what you think :)
You and Rob have such a wholesome friendship and always drive each other to new heights of creativity. Can’t wait for future episodes!
Love that You Will be in constant colab ❤
my 2 favorite musical channels on youtube combine every saturday? count me in!
i want to see you go to the giant organ cathedral with the MIDI input Rob went to a while back. I think you could do some insane things with it
I was so sure you were going to go through all the effort to make a new song only to end up with pink Floyd's "money". I'm a little disappointed. Although also happy that you are actually starting a new show and this wasn't an April fools?
Really or just Aprill Fools?
