- Rough as starting with a pregnant colonist is I am pretty hopeful for our little team. So long as we can find some decent recruits with either Body Modder, Bloodlust, Psycopath we should be fine. I'm really interested to see what that monolith does but hopefully after the birth, dealing with lots of combat would be tricky right now.

I was like ohh, the ghoul died cause I limit tested too hard with it (yttakin with high melee beat it in a 1v1 it was tough) so a child was a murder machine.
I of course wondered if ghouls coupd mate. Quickly decided to scrap figuring that idea out with a chuld ghoul because well

A good thing to know about the new hidden conduit is that it won't be attacked by raiders. It's not just a beauty thing. Also, the ghoul doesn't care what it eats as long as it is raw meat. Even unbutchered raider corpses. Wasn't gonna mention it until you noticed that it regrew its toe, but the ghoul basically is on super luciferium for healing. It can heal pretty much any condition, from bad backs to missing chunks of brain to cancer.

@@fetova Good to know. Also, I just found out Hidden Conduits can't have Zzzt events. So if you only use hidden conduits, you can't get Zzzt events from batteries. Excluding direct rain on the batteries or other weather sensitive things.
@@chaosstripe9446 I've recently discovered that, if you let other ghouls to eat them when dead until they get off the head and then you use a ghoul resurrect serum they "heal" the crumbled mind xd
Excited for this playthrough. Small little tip: hidden conduits are the best thing introduced in 1.5. I haven't had a single "Zzzt" event using only those conduits and I'm charging 15 batteries. :D
Soo if you try to force it in dev mode it still fails.
This is amazing and Im 100% spending the 2x resources for it, I used a hidden conduits mod before and made it 5x resource cost and 10x work, needless to say I'm using those conduits
Also, enemies can't attack them and they don't catch on fire

If your planter has some time left, you could plant daylilies close to a light. They only need 50% light to grow (at least in 1.4 they did), and they'll get the beauty up pretty well. You can get to impressive barracks with just dirt floor and daylilies.

As an Australian, I can confirm Emu's are tough. As a nation, we were forced to go to war with them over food and land rights; 'The Great Emu War' was fought between our national fauna and the Royal Australian Artillery. We lost.

@@Jfk2Mr The Chinese actually won that war, and won the stupid prize for their trouble: locusts. Locusts everywhere, all the time, which led to famine, which led to millions of people dying as a result.
Just from memory, the Australian military gave two guys a jeep, a machine gun and 5000 rounds. After about a month, they had killed about 5 Emus. The response was to admit the idea was a failure and they put out an open bounty on the Emu and farmers turned in hundreds within a few weeks of the bounty announcement.
Oh man…difficult starting conditions is going to make learning anomaly’s content quite a bit harder. My money is on a restart. But I have been so pumped for Francis to do this! Making reanimated ghouls named after some of his most classic melee pawns might be a fun suggestion!
Hi Francis, my lady and I are both super excited that you've started this run! One thing I want to tell you, when the anomaly stuff starts there is going to be new music, and it absolutely rules. I know playing with music off is easier for video editing, but it really adds a lot when the spooky stuff starts.

a little "exploit" on the fridge: You can point up to 3 coolers with the hot side at an open door, the door will delete the heat (it behaves like an 1x1 unroofed room) - also works in overhead mountain.
Been looking forward to this, good idea not studying the obelisk, nothing really kicks off until you do, my current colony is 3 years in and I'm just about to turn it one, after getting up to a decent population from 1 colonist and building a killbox along with housing (and anomaly housing) and a good workshop. Gonna be rough with a child, my advice, increase your population, you'll want at least 10 minimum for some of the advanced events or your in trouble.
As for the name, "Student's of Aku", and colony name "Aku's Danger Hole" (it will make more sense once the events kick off)

20:08 There's some mods that change cleaning behavior to specific zones, some that include a priority-ordered list of zones to clean (i.e., kitchen, lab, everywhere else, etc.)

I've been waiting to watch this until after I finished my own Anomaly play through. After 3 freaking attempts I finally pulled it off, so here am, excited as hell to watch this.

funnily enough your first temperate forest was a 30/60 day growing, which lessens the "easy-ness" of it, ah well, I love the desert personally, genuinely enjoy my sandy bases, arid shrublands prob my fav starting biome. RN doing solo icesheet (but modded, mc is a necromancer so not nearly as hard as a normal run pawn-wise) Normally I hate the colder maps (since I dislike how the parka looks compared to duster/cowboy hat) despite irl me being much more comfortable with cold then hot.

Neanderthal + Ghoul Infusion = Ghoul with 25% Damage Reduction and 50% Damage Buff
You can give them a lot of amazing perks with genes without the downsides. Hussar yittakin Neanderthals and sanguophages can combine with those like impids as well
Not to mention how op you can make them if you make a custom genotype either through the start menu or doing genetics (giving them all projectile abilities giving good melee and bad everything else, naked speed ect ect.)
I have tough on my neanderthal ghoul. He beats up grizzlies with ease

Eventually, you may want to take the ritualist or inhuman ideologies ... just be sure to double check your research speed if you do take them. The 25% research speed is crippling.

here's something you probably should know, the hidden conduits are immune to ZZZtts events! so if you only have hidden conduits the event can't even happen!
very much worth being double the resource cost.
Besides having the Ghoul running around beating up the animals on the map, you can also have him beat up all the ancient cars and stuff to get that slag. Faster than waiting for a Breach axe. Also you can micro him into killing and eating the corpses of animals, though making a human corpse storage is most efficent as they automaticlaly go and take a bite there when they're hungry.

And I'm back too. Subnautica didn't do it for me, but I'm excited for this series! Been playing A LOT since it came out, embrace the monolith, it's excellent. Never was this challenging and satisfying to muddle through.
Once you get into biotech stuff, Ghouls become amazing. Naked Runner, Strong Melee, and a bunch of negative skills to cut their hunger almost in half.

Small note though, the ghoul can eat corpses and not care, and it can eat raw other meat, not just twisted meat.
