- "Come and Follow Me", by Max Carl and Marcy Levy. The song played during the ending credits of the 1986 film, "Short Circuit". The soundtrack for Short Circuit was never published, and neither was this song. I do not own this song or Short Circuit. Great movie, though! I added the lyrics below, since no one on the web seems to have the correct ones. Feel free to point out any mistakes you may find.

Yes I’m here in 2024. This and The Money Pit are truly underrated movies that both came out in the same year. This song is great and so is the song The Heart Is So Willing by Stephen Bishop which was the theme song to The Money Pit and that song never got proper release either.

I’m with you on that. After I saw GB, I was actually afraid to go to New York because I thought ghosts were gonna get me. I was 4 or 5 at the time. Short Circuit and Johnny 5 will always be classic 👍

It’s a crime how hard it is to find this song.
I remember seeing this movie as a kid, and at the end watch the van drive off in the distance, all while this song plays and thinking that I didn't want this movie to end, very few films give me this sensation
And still to this day it frustrates me seeing three deleted scenes in the credits - two robots flying planes, the mini robot and no.5 and the scrap yard scene

I sang this at my grandpa's funeral cuz when I was a child me and him watched this movie together, In his eyes I see he IS alive as me, and in his final days like a true friend I helped him shine again, my grandpa may have passed away a week ago but I don't doubt tht every time I play this song he's standing right next to me :)

Oh I agree. Short Circuit was one of my favorite films as a child alongside the likes of Flight of the Navigator and Flight of Dragons. But sadly like many classic 80's films none get much screen time anymore.

Special thanks to everyone who had anything to do with the original first two Short Circuit movies. I was just 5 years old when the first one came out, and 31 years later (shut up lol) I still enjoy watching them. Both movies have everything you want in quality filmmaking! I miss the 80's, but I'm glad I'm not a kid anymore lol

I think what I also like about this song is the ability of its energy to transport me vividly back to 1986.

This is one of those movies I saw with my older brother as we usually went for the strange ones. It was a time when I was still in high school and I would drive 40 miles on a Friday night to go to a movie with him. I remember this one, "2010", and "Xanadu" as one of those movies. This particular movie we stayed for the whole credits because they had some interesting end credit sequences. Some of it was discarded footage from this movie. But it also included some footage used in the second movie such as the scene from the junkyard at the end. I'll avoid a spoiler in case you haven't seen it. My brother graduated college and moved away. For a while, I visited him and saw movies in his new town. Then he had kids and now grandkids so it probably won't happen again.
I always wondered what the origin of that footage was!

Oh this brings back some memories. Short Circuit was one of my favourite films as a child along with Flight of the Navigator. The 80's were really a great time for these kind of films.
I know this is just a song, but... Sooo many memories.. it was my FIRST song in my life that I loved so much ❤❤ I watched this movie SOO MANY TIMES and when titles comes on the screen I turn up the audio soo loud and my mum was like... "This again?"😂😂

I was 5 years old when this movie came out, so I didn't watch it until like 1989 or early 1990's...but I remember this song A LOT. Yeah, ditto to the commenter below, it's a great song, gives an impression that this story AS IT IS TOLD (Not Short Circuit 2) should continue with Ally Sheedy and Steve Guttenberg.

This movie came out the same year I was born, and yet I remember myself being planted in front of the TV watching it as a kid in the 90s. So incredible to find this out. So many of my favorite childhood movies came out before, or just as I was being born lol.
