I have a question: I had a laptop with windows 10, but the hardware no longer works but my SSD is still good so i use it as an external drive, but the OS is still on it with the serial key and everything, but i want to use it on another computer I got as a VM but with the actual external drive. how do I do that.

I downloaded vmware player first. Then i downloaded the windows 10 virtual machine (the compressed folder 1:04). Yes I do have other virtual machines, ubuntu and windows server 2019, but that is not what the video was about.

Depends on some settings, like whether or not you have shared folders or drag and drop/ copy paste enabled. But most likely no. Most malware research is done in a VM for this reason.

The easiest way would be to grab the windows key and put it onto a fresh install.

It’s just a folder i made to hold the virtual machines i download. You can do it from anywhere you keep your virtual machine files.

I haven’t seen this, try deleting the vm and reinstalling.
This video isn't clear. How did you download the compressed folder? It looks as if you already have a VM downloaded so what is this extra download?

Try moving the virtual machine files to your documents folder. You may need to redownload them
