SPOILERS FOR YOUR TURN TO DIE UP TO THE BEGINNING OF CHAPTER 3.
This is my first Your Turn to Die fan song so let me know what you think! I ended up rewriting the pre-chorus at least 4 times before I finally settled on the current one and I racked my brain for days with some of the lyrics BUT overall it was very fun to make.
If there's any other characters you want a song for (from YTTD, Danganronpa or any other media) then let me know in the comments. I've been interested in Scaramouche from Genshin lately so I might do a vocal cover of his boss theme. I also want to release some original songs since I have tons of lyrics waiting to get produced. I'm hoping I can be more productive in 2023 and get at least 6 songs out in a year instead of 2 lol.

There's tons of alternate lines for these pre-choruses too. You can see the evolution to the final pre-chorus though. Just goes to show that sometimes you just have to keep spewing ideas out and mashing them together until you finally get something that works well lmao.

It’s a good saying in this scenario because if you tell the truth you always leave yourself at a disadvantage compared to a lier.
I expected this to go the other route with Kanna surviving and it to have a calmer ending- was surprised when the song escalated instead HASDJNASD

ALL THE TEMPO CHANGES- My god, this is so perfect. As a music producer I TRULY appreciate every single weird thing you've put into this. It's so different to normal music-! I LOVE IT! OH MY GOD. ALL THE ASCENDING AND DESCENDING SCALES. It really does feel like the ultimate breakdown of Sou Hiyori. It's something only music can convey and you did it so PERFECTLY.
Yeah, I went a little crazy with the tempo changes but I'm glad you liked it! I think my music style is unique because I pretty much exclusively listened to vocaloid music for the last 10 or so years 😅 Thank you so much for your comment, I really appreciate it!! 😭

Alright let's break down this encapsulated personification of the term "Absolute Banger"
Warning this is long, the TL:DR is I love how you made this fit so well with Shins character and actions throughout this game. thumbs up!
Shin's initial conclusion that he will fall back on throughout the song is established as the very first thing he says, His need to seem bigger than everyone else as a defense mechanism because he is scared just like anyone else, and the continuation of that being "Sou's" explanation of majority votes. All told extremely well. And then later with the question of how far is *Sou* willing to go. I love how the temporary "death" of Shin was done.
The next verses have really funky beats to accompany Sou's proclamations of teamwork and sly jabs and digs at Sara because he knows that if Sara has the highest win percent then something must be a lie.
"A sinister secret, for the price of a few looming regrets" Of course talking about the laptop and Sou getting wacked in the head because of it. Very nice way of showing Sou's cunning will also be his downfall that even he recognizes. Also I like how for some lines I can't tell if Sou is talking to Sara or Himself and it works either way. "Just how long can you keep that unrest repressed" It's brilliant even if it wasn't intentional.
Next we move onto the first main game where Sou is of course, getting Kanna to work with him because he wants an upper hand but also because he wants the same idea of "The weak aren't powerless" to work on Kanna, if both of them believe in this idea then they'll surely survive... right? And in the main game Sou's mask cracks infront of the group for the first time. Where he doubles down in his own head that no-one can help him but himself. He has found a way to secure his own safety in the first round, if everyone is panicking in this new experience they won't want to take chances so if Sou declares that he is a role that will endanger the group if he gets voted then the others will back away from him because it makes them suspicious of him. It's genius, if it wasn't so self destructive.
I love the line "I'll lie and I'll lie until the truth can't decide what's right" It perfectly encapsulates Sou in the first chapter of this game, a confusing contradiction who never seems to have a clear goal other than confuse everyone. But there is so much more.
Alright, chapter 2.
We start of with Sou's fake memory loss so that he can rejoin the group in order to get tokens which are given on trust. Only to then reveal "How shallow trust really is" by showing how both Kanna and Q-taro are working with/for him. And how even when Sou shows no reason to be distrusted there is a malice behind his words directed at an unseen force one that no-one will no but him.
And even though Sou is terrified of what he sees/who he has become he still pushes on and finally finds a way to believe in the others with their way to escape being so close, hurting the others at this point does nothing, he won't mess this up... right?
With their escape now gone Sou has gone into full blown hysteria, his ally, Kanna, is fully ready to use the sacrifice in order to save Sara. But if Kanna has the Sacrifice then there is still a way she and someone else can be saved, he won't witness Kanna die, so Sou does what Sou does best. Lie his ass off. And with this realization we come back to the start with "Sou" and Shin. and Shin is now back in the drivers seat, fueled not by malice but by a desire to save someone. "So Shin, How long till that facade caves in?" And the answer is simple. Soon.
With the main game in full swing Shin is now trying to get everyone to believe he has the sacrifice in order to get the majority vote on Kanna so she and one other can escape this horrid game.
And I wasn't kidding when I said soon because nearly immediately, Shin is breaking down, Kanna is going to die if he doesn't work fast enough but Kanna is talking anyway and he realises that even though he wanted to be strong his attachment to Kanna is his new weakness, and will cost him his life. And he is fully on board, all his actions no matter how he justified them have led to this moment where the group has to choose between him and Kanna, but... the answer is obvious... right?
But Shin has been betrayed again, his final wish, his one honest request from the group. Thrown in his face. They have killed Kanna, the one person who gave Shin a chance. It is this decision that causes Shin to be buried under mountains of pure malice.
"If the true is I'm not worth enough to survive, I'll lie and I'll lie till I'm the only one left ALIVE!" The tone that goes with these lyrics portrays both anger but also desperation, and I LOVE IT!
Micki, you did absolutely phenomenal job with this song, well done, I can't wait to see what you do in the new year.

Something small I'd like to point out is this particular lyric:
"It's my turn."
(SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 3-B)
I interpret this from two different perspectives. The first one is that he trailed off before saying die because in truth, he still was afraid of dying like anyone would, but he'd be willing to for his own ally and sibling. The second perspective is that he said that so bluntly and short as to "get it over with already" and not waste time with theatrics. Afterall, he was going to die, so why not make it quick? Or atleast, so he thought.

(What I’m getting at is, he at first was directing the song to him hating ‘the odds’ and then I’m guessing the second is when he started trusting us? Or when he was trusting us and was throwing it away. And the last is him hating us completely)
Pretty much! The "us" in the second one was mostly meant to mean himself and Kanna (hence "laughing back in her place") but it could definitely refer to the entire group as well!
If there was a “but only the best part” version of this song it’d still contain the entire song

I'd be careful if I were you... If you play this song too many times you'll summon Sou Hiyori and it'll either be the (mostly) good one or the really really really bad one. You'll have no way of telling until one of them crawls through your window at night and either asks for soup or the name of your closest loved one. Just remember, the greener their hair, the more evil they are! And do NOT sign the consent form. Stay safe

Shame Nagito broke the streak.
This song really captures that desperate feeling of life or death in the main game so well, I feel like my heart's racing just listening to it.
The first "the fate of this me is to get betrayed" is referring to being betrayed by being voted for, but the second one is referring to being betrayed by having his wish to die instead of kanna be betrayed, and *not* voting for him
He threw his real self away to protect his life but ended up wishing he had died :(

This song is actually what made me play YTTD! I'd heard of it before, but i didnt really know if i'd wanted to play it. This song comes up while im just vibing to your other songs and i just hear the start and I'm like "this sounds so cool, I really wanna listen to it" but i would not tolerate spoilers. So, that was me about 2 weeks ago. I have now played through what there is of the game and am finally listening to this. It's so good!! My initial impression was so right.
And in a response to the description, I would love another YTTD song if you ever manage the time! You always write out songs really good, and basically every character in this game is well written and has a large enough role to make a song for, imo. I especially think Sara or Nao or Kanna or Alice would work well.

Randomly went back to this channel after a few years and oh my goodness, you’ve improved so much as a music producer and artist! This song is so chaotic, and I mean that in the nicest way possible. It’s almost as if I’m witnessing a breakdown from Shin’s point of view as he slowly descends into insanity. The temp changes were super impressive, despite them being so quick it was able to fit with the song and continue to make it flow without it seeming to forced or in your face. Also the lyrics? Omg- “Nothing, so Shin.” Hit me hard oh my GOD. Glad to see you’re out here still producing bangers, cant wait to see what other characters you make songs for in YTTD!

I'm extremely late to this but I really appreciate the motifs that call back to the YTTD ost, specifically how the chorus escalates in pitch and drops back again abruptly like in the Main Game osts (cardiogram peak i think idk if there are any other ones), and the tempo changes m w a h. Like the intensity changes in the Main Games and the game altogether. Really well made🙏🙏

Oh my god I absolutely loved this! Thank you for this blessing in the form of a song for best boy! I have some of my favourite of your fan songs on my spotify playlist, so I'll be sure to add this whenever I can! This fits his character so much... I really like how you can get the mood that Sou had the entire game, with how even when he's being nice he comes off as suspicious and terrifying (and those horrifying sprites and jump scares do NOT help his case). If you're going to make Your Turn To Die songs, I'd be really interested in a song for Sara since her character is so interesting with how she has two entirely different moods.
