First things first, Horseback Ganondorf is WAY HARDER than Stallord in fact Stallord is easy as hell. Also, I found Waterblight Ganon much more of a challenge then Thunderblight Ganon. Especially during the Champions Ballad rematch.

I had a tiny bit of an easier time just because I actually knew what I had to do to compensate or during parts with a small margin of error but for the most part, it was just as irritating. It’s ok for a game or controls to have a learning curve. But it shouldn’t take multiple play throughs just to get the basics down. If you can’t get a good grasp on controls by the end of the game, you either have trouble with that kind of thing in general, or it’s a poor control design. The horseback fight with Ganon on Twilight Princess was so freaking hard because of the redesigned controls for Epona, I just could not get used to it and it made the fight harder than it actually was on the gamecube.
Thunderblight Ganon isn't actually that hard but the method to take him down is very specific and need to be done perfectly that's even more frustrating
Exactly it’s fast moves and how much damage it can take from you makes it very hard for new players my self included. It’s best to get the master sword and some health and divine beasts bosts
@@mr.throes8148 if you face him first the difficultly is actually the lowest. The last boss you face will always be the hardest. It's actually a tactic that a lot of player use that to fight thunderblight as early as possible

Shadow Link in OoT can be cheesed with the Giant's Knife. He always tries to jump on your sword when you swing it. So, buy the infamous knife and break it before the battle. Swing the broken knife and he'll try to jump on it. Since there's nothing to jump on, he'll be left vulnerable to an attack.
@@Brainbabys I beat him with only four hearts and a slightly increased stamina vessel, and I didn’t have any other divine beasts. So I would say about 10-15. But, I suggest you take down other divine beasts first, because they are much easier, and the bosses themselves are easier too. So I recommend going to divine beast vah ruta in the Zora’s domain first. The ability it gives you is one of the most useful items in the game.
Vaati wasn't hard, he was good Boss design, he tested the players skills and knowledge in what they learned throughout the game in order to defeat him, this is exactly how a final game boss should be designed.
I'm suprised they didn't mention that you get a game over if you can't beat him in time (although you get more than enough time to beat him, in my opinion). I discovered this not long ago in another video and I played that game multiple times as a kid. Ah, the memories 😊
Try going against Bongo Bongo in the Shadow Temple Boss fight. If you run out of arrows and/or magic, you're SCREWED! It'll make you rage quit, guaranteed.
Demise from skyward sword was super hard. I only managed to beat him because I had an invincibility potion. The bosses on his list can be tricky but I wouldn't say rage quit
Word of advice: Just because a boss has "Annoying" tendencies, doesn't mean it's a "Hard" boss. As someone who loves Zelda and the challenges it has to offer, this listing felt really lackluster. I agree with #1 as being a hard boss, but putting something like Stallord on the list... Even putting puppet ganon over the Thunder Bird!? This whole thing needs to be properly evaluated by actual zelda fans.
Twin-Rova was a pain, but I think the worst was Phantom Ganon. I messed up the Bat-a-Beam at the end sooooo much. It was always one of the last in the sequence, and it frustrated me to no end.
Hey everyone! Sooo I know Zelda boss fights have never been the focal point of Link's adventures, but we thought we'd go over some of the more frustrating bosses in the series and highlight what we like/dislike about them! Alsom who's excited for Hyrule Warriors AOC? because I know I am!
I’m pumped for it! Played through the demo, it’s amazing. My only complaint is occasional frame rate drops, which isn’t to the point of being a major hindrance, but still noticeable. Hoping that’s fixed before the final product is released.
Moldorm is mostly just annoying IMO....the Imprisoned on the other hand, is the absolute worst boss in not just Zelda but Nintendo history ( talking Nintendo OWNED games & franchises here just to clarify ). It's frustrating & not remotely enjoyable the 1st time you fight it and then they force you to fight it another 2 times just to get through the story....if you want the only shield in the game that doesn't break ( fuck that durability bullshit...I know some people enjoy it, but it just feels cheap & obnoxious to me, killing most of the fun I'd otherwise be having ) you have to possibly fight it up to 3 MORE times....and then they put it in Hyrule Warriors, where it's less annoying than in Skyward Sword but still the worst boss encounter in the damn game...
I was looking for this comment! Twinmold was by far the most frustrating boss. Majoras Mask and especially the botw bosses are a joke compared to Twinmold.
Apparently the reason why the boss is so hard is because in the 3D version, there's a bug that resets its health every time it goes underground, making it super difficult to kill
@@edwardrobinson5470 yes absolutely. I actually kinda liked Gyorg in the 3DS version. I also liked Twinmold but damn, that boss is really a pain in the ass. I never got so stressed about a boss before. When I defeated that boss I got like 30 seconds until the moon fell on Termina. I went straight to the fairy's fountain and got the fairy's sword. Then I played the song of time as fast as I could and went back to the first day. I was so relieved and also so shocked that I made it.
I remember the time when I played Ocarina Of Time on the 3DS which I used to be ever so stressed out alot by the Water, Shadow and Spirit Temple bosses every time when I faced any of them as Link
The final battle against Imprisoned should be on here. The motion controls with the Wii remote make him obnoxious and somewhat challenging. Also what's crazy in Breath of the Wild I think some spawning monsters are stronger than the Gannon's except Thunder blight.
Fun fact. Dark Link in Ocarina of Time always has the same amount of hearts that the player does. If you do a 3 hearts playthrough, you can just spam Din's Fire on Dark Link.
10. Definitely bring the Fierce Deity Mask to the fight! 9. This battle was never brutally hard. 8. They brought Moldorm back in A Link Between Worlds, but they made him look more like a cheeseburger! At least his HP doesn't fully restore when you get knocked off or leave the room. 6. I think you meant to say "Cast Thunder," not "Cast Thunderbird." You'd think something called the "Thunderbird" would be immune to thunder, that's like calling an ice cube "fire block." 4. Also nicknamed: "George." 3. Fast and erratic as F***. But worth it for my Lady Urbosa. 😍 H.M.1: The final phase is significantly easier, and he'll fire off powerful but easy to avoid "F you Lasers." H.M.2: Eh, this battles only hard if Twinrova fires a curveball with the element opposite of what you need to counterattack. 3 fireballs or 3 ice shots in a row and you can disperse the element contained and stun her, but if she hits you with... say an ice shot while you're storing up fire, it'll pierce the shield, hurt you, and you'll lose all your accumulated element. H.M.3: Sounds familiar... "ALL WE HAD TO DONEAS FOLLOW THE DAMN TRAIN, CJ!" ME?!! ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS F***ING AIM AND SHOOT! AND YOU COULDN'T EVEN HIT THE BROADSIDE OF A BARN AT POINT BLANK RANGE!
Tentalus in Skyward Sword. When you're trying to use the Skyward Strike to cut the tentacles, they grab you frequently so you have to shake like mad to get free, only for another to grab you seconds afterward
Honorable Mentions: *Barba - Legend of Zelda 2 -Unpredictable fire attacks with knockback. And falling into the arena's pits is an instakill. *Zant - Twilight Princess -His final phase in particular get especially erratic. *The Imprisoned - Skyward Sword -Why can't we just jump? And we have to fight it 3 TIMES!
what about the original legend of zelda? this game had some hard boses too, ganon was hard for all the wrong reasons and that dragon with the multiple heads was a dense motherfucker that was really hard to kill.
4:27 the only thing to me thats hard about Puppet Ganon is trying to keep a steady nerve with his creepy movement, and thats the best thing about him honestly.
Taking down "Monk Maz Koshia" is VERY satisfying due to getting the Master Cycle Zero as a reward. You can even use that thing in the last stage of the final boss fight.
I remember the first time I played through Majora's Mask. I went through all of the moon dungeon trials to get the Fierce Deity's Mask, and when I finally got it, I actually played the Song of Time, as I feared that if I won the fight, with no way to save the game, I'd lose the Fierce Deity Mask, but my thoughts about losing the Fierce Deity Mask from winning the fight and keeping it from playing the Song of Time was actually backwards from the truth, as I found out playing the Song of Time after getting the Fierce Deity Mask without beating the final boss actually makes you lose the mask, but winning the fight allows you to keep it. I was stunned when I booted up my save file after watching the credits to find out that the Fierce Deity Mask was still in my inventory. But it wasn't the boss fight itself that was very hard, as you said, it's pretty easy to beat Majora's Mask with the Fierce Deity's Mask. The hard part was going through those moon dungeons twice. And that was quite a pain, especially with the Goron one where there were so many pits to fall off of and it took me tries and tries to get through it. Pretty much, it depended on luck since I wasn't all that good at it. As for the fight with Gyorg, I remember that whenever I played the original Nintendo 64 version of the game, I would always fill all my bottles with fairies since I knew there was no way I could avoid getting caught in Gyorg's mouth enough times to get killed. But I later figured out that if I get onto the platform after each hit, I can avoid getting caught by Gyorg's mouth so many times. Did this keep me from getting caught at all? No, but it did keep me from getting caught as many times as before and with this strategy, I was able to beat Gyorg without dying once. As for the 3DS remake, that one was a bit harder since I had to be constantly swimming and that I needed to time my swimming movements perfectly in order to get the mines to set off when Gyorg tried sucking me in. A con with the 3DS remake's version of the fight is that on the Nintendo 64 version, you could beat Gyorg in seconds when you got the Fierce Deity's Mask, but in the remake, you could only use the Fierce Deity's Mask during the first half of the fight since Fierce Deity Link can't fight underwater. Although I think there should have been an added mechanic to where Fierce Deity Link could use sword beams while swimming. Another bad part about this is that if you want to quickly get through all the bosses in a single cycle, or at least for Great Bay, in the 3DS remake, you couldn't do it that quickly since the second half of the battle has to be done the same way as the first time fighting this boss, swimming under the water. Oh man! Who's idea was it to make that boss fight a little more difficult. And yes, I know that the remake also make it so that the Twinmold boss fight forces you to use the Giant's Mask to beat the red one and that unlike in the Nintendo 64 version, where both worms could be beaten without the Giant's Mask, in the 3DS remake, the red one requires it.
I myself actually tried to save the game after getting the Fierce Deity Mask before facing Majora only find I didn't have the mask. Going through the dungeons again was easier, though, since I had already gotten the remaining heart pieces in those dungeons.
I don’t remember any zelda bosses making me rage quit or even have much of a problem with them….I loved fighting thunder blight gannon the most because he was actually the most difficult to me and stallord was a fun fight and literally the best use of the spinner
During the horse back battle against Ganondorf in TP Zelda’s arrows aren’t entirely controlled by A.I. It’s actually controlled by the player, depending on where your joystick is facing, is where she’s gonna shoot
Okay this is incorrect ! To put the spinner boss stallord which is my favorite and not that bird from sky temple I can defeat calamity ganon and not wanna quit it took me a month to successfully beat the last boss before the twilight temple it made ganon and zant feel really easy
@@nathanhendricks5947 I couldn't never even make it past the first Palace in Zelda 2. Since I technically never faced any Zelda 2 boss I don't really count those
I agree that Dark Link is a massive pain in the butt to beat in OoT (the only Zelda game I’ve played), but I thought that the electrified parasite in Jabu Jabu’s belly and the Shadow Temple Boss were harder to beat than Twinrova.
There is always a way to make dark Link easier. Zelda 2 you just hang out on the left side of the screen. Ocarina of Time, all you have to do is face him with only 3 hearts and he goes down in 1 hit with Biggoron’s Sword. Twinrova is easy if you have Biggoron’s Sword. After knocking her down, 2 jump attacks will beat her.
Fun fact: There is a very simple way to beat Majora’s Mask final boss. The Link needs to wear a mask (I forgot the name). It is crazy how easy you can beat it.
Honestly Botw was the Easiest Zelda game I have ever played. And Thunderblight was the 2nd easiest boss in Botw. (Number 1 being Fireblight) And max Koshia wasn’t that hard at all.
Not even an honorable mention for Mothula from A Link to the Past?! That's one of the most frustrating battles without the magic cape. The floor is moving, Mothula is moving , the spikes are moving, and yet you have to manage to hit it with the Fire Rod without running out of magic.

What about Bongo Bongo? It took me HOURS to defeat that invisible eyeball!
Agreed! Even after over 20 years Bongo Bongo is the only boss to ever make me rage quit
Thunderblight Ganon was hard, especially when trying to get a picture of him
Thunderblight ganon was a huge pain
@Jake Kirkham experience how many hearts do u think i need, and how many hours of gameplay
@@LinkOfLegendOfZelda that's only for when you are trying to get to him and Zelda before the bell chimes three times!
I think it only happen during the dark kights
Try going against Bongo Bongo in the Shadow Temple Boss fight. If you run out of arrows and/or magic, you're SCREWED! It'll make you rage quit, guaranteed.
8:00 All you had to do was follow the damn horse, Link!
Lmao!
Demise from skyward sword was super hard. I only managed to beat him because I had an invincibility potion. The bosses on his list can be tricky but I wouldn't say rage quit
You must be a noob since most people plow through that fight within minutes
Some players took only 26 secs to beat Demise so yeah its super easy
Really poor selection, a lot of them are easy and you're forgetting boss that are harder than half the list.
Word of advice:
Just because a boss has "Annoying" tendencies, doesn't mean it's a "Hard" boss.
The fact that Thunderbird is this low down is just mind boggling :P
Right!? Like did they even play the game?
Twin-Rova was a pain, but I think the worst was Phantom Ganon. I messed up the Bat-a-Beam at the end sooooo much. It was always one of the last in the sequence, and it frustrated me to no end.
For Dark Link, I've discovered that if you just swing wildly without targeting, you are far more likely to have an easier time against him!
Bro who rage quits in a Zelda game? *remembers the oracle games* oh... That's how
Hey everyone!
When I fought Moldorm in ALTTP I litterely threw my controller in rage....
Defined the hardest and most frustrating boss in my opinion!
I feel your pain
The imprisoned just slightly pisses me off...
Moldorm on the other hand triggers a full blown mental breakdown!
Aka Trolldorm
Number one has to be the imprisoned. Right? Riiiiiiight!? That shit was asinine! Yes, egoraptor vibes.
No third imprisoned fight, not even an honourable mention
2 is worse
@Zachary Erickson yes
@@jackA925 No, the first two times are piss easy because you just jump down on his head & attack the spike.
Where is Twinmold from Majora's mask 3D? That boss was really frustrating. That is the number one most frustrating boss in the Zelda franchise for me.
I didn't even realize that boss battle was so much harder until I played it on the 64
I was looking for this comment! Twinmold was by far the most frustrating boss. Majoras Mask and especially the botw bosses are a joke compared to Twinmold.
Apparently the reason why the boss is so hard is because in the 3D version, there's a bug that resets its health every time it goes underground, making it super difficult to kill
I think it's harder then Gyorg in the 3ds version. I agree.
A real Zelda fan wouldn't rage quit because Link's courage would help us keep fighting. But the Water Temple in OOT, now thats a different story.
no, water temple wasnt bad , all of zelda 2 tho.....
Dark link
Monk maz koshia
CALAMITY GANON
These three really aren’t hard bosses once you get the hand of fighting them
The shadow drummer himself was the hardest in Ocarina. Twinrova was one of the easiest between the first and second dungeon.
What, no mention of The Imprisoned from Skyward Sword?
If Thunderbird is here but not #1 and you used the 3-D version of Dark Link you probably haven't actually played Zelda 2.
My thoughts exactly.
Ok you HAVE to listen. Zeldas aiming in horseback ganon battle is not AI based. Is is based on the direction of your analog stick
Twinrova? Challenging? If there's one complement not to give that boss, it's challenging.
The only one I agree with is Gyorg. Zelda has a wonderful reputation for it's bosses, and none of them are poorly designed or rage-inducing.
Always sad when the final boss isnt as hard as the mini boss
Answer: all of the bosses in Zelda 2.
Thunderbird makes me so mad!
Dude Thunder blight Gannon made me Rage quit so bad I nearly started a new game.
The best tactics is to wear rubber armor backflip when he uses super speed and have the master sword
But I did Defeat him with an ancient arrow and it took me about 50 tries so yah and also I didn’t have the Masters Sword Yet
I went in massively unprepared. No rubber armor, no master sword. Also pretty sure I had less than 7 or 8 hearts soooo ya I had a bad time lol
Fun fact. Dark Link in Ocarina of Time always has the same amount of hearts that the player does. If you do a 3 hearts playthrough, you can just spam Din's Fire on Dark Link.
I’ve played every Zelda games besides the first two and by far the most I’ve died from was demise
Zelda 2 isn't a contender for being one of the hardest zeldas ever. It is the hardest zelda ever.
6. I think you meant to say "Cast Thunder," not "Cast Thunderbird." You'd think something called the "Thunderbird" would be immune to thunder, that's like calling an ice cube "fire block."
4. Also nicknamed: "George."
3. Fast and erratic as F***. But worth it for my Lady Urbosa. 😍
H.M.1: The final phase is significantly easier, and he'll fire off powerful but easy to avoid "F you Lasers."
H.M.2: Eh, this battles only hard if Twinrova fires a curveball with the element opposite of what you need to counterattack. 3 fireballs or 3 ice shots in a row and you can disperse the element contained and stun her, but if she hits you with... say an ice shot while you're storing up fire, it'll pierce the shield, hurt you, and you'll lose all your accumulated element.
H.M.3: Sounds familiar...
"ALL WE HAD TO DONEAS FOLLOW THE DAMN TRAIN, CJ!"
ME?!!
You can run around whilst waiting for a skyward strike
@@Tomo-es2zo On the Wii it's a pain
I actually beat monk mez in the first try believe it or not....man was I super super prepared for this battle
I’m almost 30 and still haven’t played a Zelda game, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little interested. The one for the switch looks real dope
Imprisoned should've been up there since you've got to face it 3 times and it's frustrating dealing with it every single time.
Honorable Mentions:
*Barba - Legend of Zelda 2
-Unpredictable fire attacks with knockback. And falling into the arena's pits is an instakill.
*Zant - Twilight Princess
-His final phase in particular get especially erratic.
*The Imprisoned - Skyward Sword
-Why can't we just jump? And we have to fight it 3 TIMES!
what about the original legend of zelda?
this game had some hard boses too, ganon was hard for all the wrong reasons and that dragon with the multiple heads was a dense motherfucker that was really hard to kill.
Not even sure if I'm around halfway through BOTW, but it's encouraging to know Thunderblight Ganon was my first boss and beat him with 5 hearts.
I actually liked fighting Stallord it felt like a badass moment
It was also using the dragon theme from oot.
4:27 the only thing to me thats hard about Puppet Ganon is trying to keep a steady nerve with his creepy movement, and thats the best thing about him honestly.
Dont think I see Lynels from Breath of the Wild in this countdown. They were much harder Thunderblight Gannon
For moldorm, the trick is to stay in a corner and hold your spin
Gyorg was the reason why I never beat Majora's Mask on the N64, but the 3DS version was a cake walk!
Kevin: You want a real battle debate me bro.
Maldorn: Oh my god you guys are so annoying!
Taking down "Monk Maz Koshia" is VERY satisfying due to getting the Master Cycle Zero as a reward. You can even use that thing in the last stage of the final boss fight.
Man i was hoping to see the shadow temple final boss for ocarina of time the health he takes from you is unreal
He is two hands and a head. Shoot his hands then his head and whack him silly. Twinrova was hard at first cause of the bad camera
Hardest Zelda boss is in turtle rock ALTTP. When you have to use the fire rod and ice rod on each side of it's body
Thunderbird, Adventure of Link. So maddeningly annoying
Amateurs. No Zelda Boss has ever made ME rage quit
The only game that makes me rage quit is Candy crush.
I know right? These "people" are total pussies with no skill what so ever, or any balls for that matter.
Honestly for me the hardest I have done were Gyorg, and Twinrova
Did you play the second Zelda? That was so difficult! I could only play it with a save on spot button
@@nathanhendricks5947 I couldn't never even make it past the first Palace in Zelda 2. Since I technically never faced any Zelda 2 boss I don't really count those
This is why I love Breath of the Wild. None of the bosses are mind-numbingly unfair.
I actually took down thunderblight Ganon on the first try. I was super surprised that I did it when one of my friends struggled so much.
I agree that Dark Link is a massive pain in the butt to beat in OoT (the only Zelda game I’ve played), but I thought that the electrified parasite in Jabu Jabu’s belly and the Shadow Temple Boss were harder to beat than Twinrova.
Honestly twinmold in majora’s mask 3D was hard since you couldn’t use your sword like the original so killing it before time runs out is hard
The horseback Ganondorf fight was so fing fun. I loved it.
Honestly first time I did it I had no idea what was going on
There is always a way to make dark Link easier.
Maz Koshia was actually pretty easy for me and one of my favorite bosses in the series
Dark Link from OOT?! Really?! Just spam him with the Biggorons Sword - dead in like 4 hits!
Calamity ganon as an honorable mention?
Bruh he's easy no matter when you fight him😅 he's a pushover that leaves a sour taste in people's mouth
Especially since already fought the blights, since he's just a mish-mash of them with the typical guardian laser.
Unless you don’t know what you’re doing.
I beat him alongside all the blights in Hyrule castle without any shields, he really isn’t difficult at all it just takes a while to beat him
If a Zelda boss makes you rage quit, you have a problem... Except the Thunder Bird... I understand that pain...
So water temple boss from ocarina of time is chopped liver then lol
None of them unless you're a younger player and don't have the mental capacity/patience to deal with any sort of challenge.
I loved playing twilight princess and wind waker hd they were my first zelda games
Already liked this video! Love Zelda
Fun fact: There is a very simple way to beat Majora’s Mask final boss. The Link needs to wear a mask (I forgot the name). It is crazy how easy you can beat it.
Fierce Deity mask! That’s the name.
Honestly Botw was the Easiest Zelda game I have ever played. And Thunderblight was the 2nd easiest boss in Botw. (Number 1 being Fireblight) And max Koshia wasn’t that hard at all.
My 10 year old brother beat Maz Koshia
Please tell me how Majora’s Mask is a hard boss. He’s literally easier than all the other bosses, even without the Fierce Deity’s mask.
Thunderblight Ganon definitely made the list, both for its appearance in BoTW and Age of Calamity.
My list:
10: Waterblight Ganon
9: Demise
8: Ganon (Oot)
7: Puppet Ganon
6: The imprisoned
5: Majora
4: Twinmold
3: Thunderbird
2: ThunderBlight Ganon
1: Gyorg
Not even an honorable mention for Mothula from A Link to the Past?! That's one of the most frustrating battles without the magic cape. The floor is moving, Mothula is moving , the spikes are moving, and yet you have to manage to hit it with the Fire Rod without running out of magic.
Maz Koshia was so hard and I felt so GOOD when I beat him. I felt like I just won the lottery.
Kume and Kotake are not difficult at all, their fire or ice beam are pretty easy to avoid or to reflect.
Spoiler alert: number one is the tutorial bosses
No. Cuckoos
The only boss on this list I agree with it thunderbird from Zelda 2
Koloktos from Skyward Sword was the hardest for me.
I beat him first try but the battle was so frustratingly long because i found it really hard to whip his arms
