    Thanks for the review. I have multiple Higdon pulsating decoys and I’ve had issues with the wire breaking off at the bilge pump. It breaks off right at the pump so repairing is impossible. Higdon replaced the broken bilge pumps but I see that this is a point of failure for the Higdon model due to the fact the wiring is exposed and is constantly pulled on when recharging daily. I’m going to try the Lucky Duck model next season as it looks like the noted point of failure on the Higdon model is absent on the Lucky Duck agitator.

    I have a Higdon and need to replace the pump due to wiring issues . After watching both together it appears that the lucky duck makes more ripple .

    I've got a 2 year old pulsator that is on season 3. It's not hard but you have to maintain them daily.

      ive ran mine for 4 years and its going strong. I dont baby anything either. I plan on adding a couple more to the spread over the years. Especially considering they sell parts if anything breaks.

    The fragility of the Higdon wiring, especially where the wiring enters the pump is a constant point of failure. I’m sick of it. I just gave away 4 old pulsators (box style) and 5 new style pulsators, and a swimmer. I have had it with them. I became an expert on fixing them, and actually “stocked” spare parts! Ridiculous. They could have spent a few more bucks and made that an excellent product. They are deadly effective, when they work! I’m gonna get a half dozen lucky ducks this year and see how it goes.

    I was looking at these feeder/agitator decoys to add some motion to my usually dead water hunts. But I'm curious, what is the minimum depth of water these things will reliably function in? I'm struggling to find any mention of minimum depth requirements.

      I’m not 100% sure to be honest. You should have a problem with anything 8” or more. I’ve used it in less but it might depend on what the bottom consists of.

    Man I seriously want your advice on this on so I hunt a huge lake down here in our home state of LA. I hunt it when the winds are about 7- on up do you think it’s worth getting any of these decoys or not? I heard some people say they are too loud & you think the waves might be too big for them (2 to 3 foot) also I’ll only be using this for divers.

    • @PelicanBoneOutdoors
      @PelicanBoneOutdoors  Рік тому +1

      I wouldn’t. With the wind and waves you’re describing, that should be putting plenty of motion in your spread. These decoys are meant to mimic puddle ducks also, so I do t think it would a whole lot good attracting divers.

    Question...does the Higdon " squirter" have an intake filter so it doesn't clog up with weeds?

    • @PelicanBoneOutdoors
      @PelicanBoneOutdoors  2 роки тому +1

      It’s not really a filter but the cage around it has fine enough slats to keep stuff out. I’ve never had any issues with it.

    • @PelicanBoneOutdoors
      @PelicanBoneOutdoors  Рік тому +1

      This will be the 3rd season for my higdon and it’s still kicking. As for the lucky duck, the first time I took it out hunting I threw it from the boat (like an idiot) and the body and pump separated. I didn’t go get it right away and the pump part wound up sinking and I never could find it. So there’s that. Lol

    • @PelicanBoneOutdoors
      @PelicanBoneOutdoors  Рік тому +1

      @@ahmedfarrag1147 if your going to use higdon in the salt you defiantly need to use something on the plug. I had to change mine after using it a couple times in the brackish marsh. I think the lucky will work great as long as you place it and don’t try to sling it out like a regular decoy.
