- This is the title track of Killing Joke's tenth studio album released in June, 1994.
This album marked Killing Joke's return after a four year long hiatus, the longest the band has taken since it was initially founded. This album also featured the return of a founding member, as Youth Glover replaced Paul Raven on bass guitar.
I just hope I did it justice. If not, I had some fun anyway, too bad. Thanks for dropping by, this is one of my older videos that I had found on my hard drive and, well, I thought like re-posting it.
More K.J bass vids to follow (sometime soon), I promise. -BMW
That's a monumental bass tone you have there. Makes Killing Joke sound like Godflesh.
Thanks Clint, this one was a while back.
Well hey, thanks! It's a 2002 Ernie Ball Stingray 5 with an odd ball sparkly-orange finish. I've had it for a few year and it seems I only use it on the odd occasion. This tune kinda required it I guess. Thanks for being the first comment and for your ongoing support and encouragement. -BMW
superb interpretation of paul raven member of the group killing joke the gift of the bass is top
Thank you so much Billy!
Ok its 14 yrs but just listened a band called ist ist, knew the bass was not exact but drove the track
Seems that the whole bass is tuned one tone down A-D-G-C-F.... Geordie is tuned DGCFAD since Fire Dances, and Youth and Raven (R.I.P.) too...
The jig? I was a wee bit skoosht and got inspired. Thanks for the kind comment. Cheers from Canada!
Killing Joke and Motorhead - y'got good taste not to mention nailing the songs.
Regarding KJ, if you're looking for suggestions for other bass-centric tunes to try, I'd suggest In Cythera, Sixth Sun, Fresh Fever From The Sky, Love Like Blood and Inside The Termite Mound. Also a similar band to KJ to give a shot on a few songs would be The Lords Of The New Church - songs like Dance With Me, Open Your Eyes and Livin On Livin.
Love that tone you get out of that music man!
@killer92taco don't question, just accept
Great tone and great playing. I was looking at EB Stingray specs yesterday and I was wondering why they were so much more expensive than Fender.
Man, fucking great to have you back. Can you do "Age of Greed"!?!?
@killer92tacos play along with the CD so you've got Raven playing behind you... learn the bass part and play through a speaker bigger than 12 inches. turn up mid highs to 3 o'clock and ROCK! It helps if you go see Killing Joke a few times or listen to all of their records 10,000 times. Nice bass work, btw, Mr BillyMegaWatt
GREAT JOB DUDEE
hey you should cover some boston tracks man!
Good one Bill. Was wondering what you were up to.
Up to about 5' 11" and 15 pints today, not bad eh?
Crazy amounts of hash actually.
This sounds nice!
Please, I have a request. Can you help me, Billy? Or another person? I play violin and I make electronic music. I'm looking for the tab or score for the Pandemonium bass (and drums, too) to make a cover. Could you provide it for me? Thank you very much! :)
Keep playing!
thanks dude!!!i understand your video...but it's hard for me...it miss something...so can you tab it?
You are using a five string bass, what are the strings tuned to?
How did you get that sound for your bass?
how do you get that sound dude?
Can you repeat the question?
What tuning are you using on this piece?
How much basses do you got? ;D
You get high and don't remember your settings?
That's just mean.
