    How much food do you give them?

    • @must_love_labs
      @must_love_labs  2 місяці тому

      All they want, for 20 minutes…twice a day. Let momma feed them after and as often as she wants in between. After 5 weeks it’s just twice a day for both.

    Do you add pumpkin or baby rice/oatmeal. I've seen other breeders add these. What are your thoughts?

      Nope, premium kibble and water does just fine. Watch the video and I show you how. 👍

    How much should you be feeding a three week old puppy litter of 8

    • @must_love_labs
      @must_love_labs  2 роки тому

      Great question! At 3 weeks they are just starting on mash. It’s kibble soup really. 1/2 cup each to start just to get them used to it. More later. Don’t worry about giving them too much. They will stop eating when they get full. Momma dog will be glad to finish whatever they leave so nothing gets wasted. 👍

    I have a litter of 10 labs that are 4 weeks old, how much should I be feeding them and how many times a day? You said you start at twice, does it increase over time?

      At 4 weeks we have them started on mush. Momma is still nursing too, directly after and in between our feedings. We give them as much as they want, twice a day. We do this from now on. We leave the food down for about 20 minutes. Then we let momma come in and clean up whatever they didn’t eat. At this time she will top them off with milk. During week 4 we let momma in to milk them in between feedings at least once. At week 5 and beyond it is as described above. 2 times a day with nothing in between. 👍

    We don't add the water. We just get the dry food and blend it up into a powder. Have you tried it dry and how did it work out?
    Do you toss out what they left or save it and use it again?

      Momma dog goes in and finishes what they leave. We always start them on a watery mix. It’s easy to swallow and transition from liquid to solid diet.

    How often do you give this ?

    • @must_love_labs
      @must_love_labs  3 роки тому +1

      Twice a day to start. In between nursing visits from Momma. When they get hungry we give them their fill of mush and then let momma nurse if they want more.

    Can I use regular kibble instead of puppy kibble?

    • @must_love_labs
      @must_love_labs  2 роки тому

      You shouldn’t. Puppies need good puppy food. It’s formulated for what they need to be healthy.

    Where did you get that silver bowl you feed the puppies from? Never mind you covered it later in your video. Thanks for the link.
