Nice video... Very quickly.. how many suckers of plantain can I allow in a farm of yam plantation if I don't want them to affect the yam vines.some mother plants reproduce 4, 6, 8 and up to 10 suckers.

Do not plant them close to you yams too much competition at least 15ft from your yams and do not allow more that two suckers to come up from the mother plant. Cut out the rest. Remember cut out the rest.

No they won't die but the will compete with each other and fruits will be very small on them

When you clean your plantain suckers they won't have any roots and they grow quickly.

They are called suckers you can plant them somewhere else

Too much suckers drain nutrients from the mother plant so you will not get the required size of fruits. Therefore you should leave only one or two sucker

You are also bothering the mother plant instead you can cut the sucker and poke a small rod in middle of the sucker

If the mother plant is shooting you must not remove suckers cause you will be disturbing the mother plant.
