I want to take a moment here to acknowledge that this video is silly and lighthearted, meant to be a source of entertainment in what has been a very heavy few months. Racism is a universal reality and every country has failings, including Canada, that are long overdue for addressing. When your donating clothes don’t forget the men’s stuff in your house. I sort for a charity and what little men’s we get has been worn to death with more holes than fabric left. Shoes and jeans are the the hardest to come by. Love your channels x
Also home goods can often be donated to animal shelters if human services orgs won't take them - clean but used sheets, towels, blankets!

Little trick for the mismatched socks: I keep a shoe box in my closet and anytime I have a “lonely” sock I put it in the shoe box. Eventually I end up finding it’s pair! 🤓 (I prefer the shoe box because I can close the lid and it doesn’t get confusing between my paired socks)

If the bulkiness of the fabric storage bins puts you off, I would recommend getting yourself some vacuum seal bags. they are amazing space savers

To get more structure for your bigger windowed storage, cut some foam board or even some cardboard, the tops of boxes only take 1 cut, you can washi tape the edges for cleanliness and to keep particles off the clothes, just a thought and I also have bought the lights mainly to help my Father navigate my home, I brought him home with me after he had a stroke, he wasn’t familiar with my light switch layout, I put these about hip level on his pathways to the bathroom, living room and kitchen and it helped so much, also I have put others in my pantry and closets plus they are fantastic if you lose power. Mine has an On/Off switch as well.

Great job!! Maybe a tip to give structure to your zippered bins would be to measure the sides and cut cardboard pieces (you could use the boxes they were shipped in) and put them inside to make "walls".

Cut pieces of cardboard (you know, from all the Amazon orders we all make.....lol) to the dimensions of your unstructured storage bags to add stability and structure. It works great!
I love those bins you put sweaters in but I also use vacuum seal bags in them so I can fit more clothes!

Hi. Just a suggestion, switching your big sweaters with you fancy tops would help the pressure on the hanger rod. Plus the gravitational pull won't ruin the sweaters as they'll be closer to the floor. Sounds weird, but I've seen that on many of my clothes. That's why I hang heavy stuff at the bottom 😉

Just moved into a new house and donated so many things and now Rachel is making me want to start all over 😂 always inspiring me
I have to go through my clothes twice a year, switching from spring/summer to fall/ winter just because of space. When I do that is when I wash what’s dirty, look at everything and decide what’s staying because it’s a staple/wear-all-the-time/still-like-it and what’s worn/old/out-of-fashion. And when I look at what’s out of fashion, it’s usually several years old and clearly dated. Then when I buy something new, it’s to replace something that was a staple, but completely worn out, or because I like the style and I’ll wear it a lot.

I just did this at my house. Had to do a MASSIVE declutter and overhaul because I moved into my office (extra housemate now) its such a pain and daunting to start but SOOOO satisfying when you’re done
Last week I ordered the Zober trouser hangers and they are amazing. They brought up my jeans and all the pants 4 inches from the ground which made room for me to put shoes away. It also evenly spaced out items yet made more room.

I'm only halfway through but BEST organizing method for my jeans is metal clips that have a hanger top, got a bunch on Amazon and it makes wearing/putting away/re-wearing so much easier
I love declutter videos. I did a quick declutter of some clothes I had. I knew stuff fit but wasn't wearing it so I packed it up and dropped off to donate.

Idk if maybe this will help ur sock problem I do this for all our socks...we get one kind and get all one color...so u just grab a sock and go you don’t have to worry about pairs...it was so much better for my toddler daughter this way and me too...I hate having to pair socks 😅

I have the same set of small fabric bins in my "save for later" cart on Amazon! They look so sturdy. After retiring early due to health issues, I had to totally revamp the way I dress. I no longer needed a closet full of work apparel and heels.... so they were all donated. I only kept a few pairs of jeans, the only ones I REALLY wear, and now have a wardrobe of comfy but "cute" clothes, kind of like the "Rachel" look!LOL!

Rach, I was thinking that the storage containers with windows, you could cut up a cardboard box and line the inside edges with the cardboard to give them some structure.

Hey Rachel, I know why you buy from places like Amazon and wish-its popular cheap and accessible to many countries. I'm trying to avoid amazon bc of their employment practices and fast fashion retailers this year.
