First heard this version during lockdown, had to stop the car and listen. What a wonderful voice, the song is not too shabby either.

Such a hauntingly beautifully sung 'Day After Tomorrow' Emily, and I mean that in the very best way. I think hearing your latest release, "Dinosaur Bones" sheds a new light on this song you and The Red Clay Halo laid down a while back. You more than did the song justice, but that is who you are. Love it, and so glad to see it was highlighted as you reached your homeland shores this past week after such a long time away. Stay safe!

Thank you so much Tracey. I wish I could take credit for writing this song but it is the amazing Tom Waits' work. I'm so pleased you enjoyed my cover of it though. Best wishes, Emily

I heard it too on Dermot whilst at work. I'm 54,love all types of music but I can honestly say the words are the most beautiful and poignant I've ever heard in a song. Made me cry. Tom Waits is a great song writer and Emily your version of this is absolutely stunning.

Ah thank you mate. What a story in this song. The lyrics kill me every time. Especially the line: "what I miss you won't believe, shovelling snow and raking leaves".

Beautiful song, heard it on the radio and it introduced me to Emily and her music. I prefer this to the original in all honesty. The line 'we're just the gravel on the road, and only the lucky ones come home' knocks the wind out of me, those words sting and have been rattling around inside my head for months now...

Thank you Andy. There are so many lines that make this song so hard to sing. I think the most for me is "what I miss you won't believe, shovelling snow and raking leaves". There is so much information packed into those few words. It's a beauty. Thanks for listening!

@@EmilyBarker listened more carefully to these words this morning and the stanza you just note popped out for me Emily as our second snow storm hits Ontario 🇨🇦 Fall of 2021. Been a rough year for us all with another variant in Africa closing some borders as we long to travel for the holidays. Hope you and Lukas stay safe and are enjoying your time both reconnecting with friends, family, artists, supporting projects close to your heart and working. Packing lots into these 5 months!! So looking forward to the day you tell us a book of your poetry will be released...something that needs lots of time to perfect I know, but well worth the wait. Congrats on the poems that are being released this year btw! You and Lukas have had some silver linings amidst some dark unknown days this 2021 but it has taken lots of your energy too!! Do remember to take time just for the two of you! From the other side of the 🌎, take good care x 🇨🇦 🍁 .

Good song, although Toms voice is just way better at capturing pain, he is just raw emotion, and such a smooth voice could never top that, its just "faker".
