@@lockdown23and1 how does car registration work in America in the UK you have your driving licence then your car is tax , insured n mot .
@@mrobrien2493 , Now the insurance co. is required to notify the state if your auto insurance is not paid and cancelled.
Then the state will send a letter sating your license is cancelled. If caught driving without a license they can impound the vehicle. On boats insurance and license is not required but They want ID to check for open arrest warrants.
@@mrobrien2493 Depends on the state. In some states, you just pay them a little money every year and they give you a sticker for the car, simple as that. Here in Texas, you have to pass a safety inspection (checking if your headlights and turn signals work and all that) and if you live in one of the large metropolitan areas, you have to pass emissions as well, plus you have to show proof of insurance to get either the registration or your drivers license. It's a bureaucratic nightmare, which is why my cars usually have expired registration even though they're insured.
In any state, you have to pay for insurance yourself and they usually require a minimum amount of liability coverage to cover other people's property and medical bills if you're at fault, but you have the option to get extra coverage to cover your own vehicle and yourself. I heard of at least one state that doesn't require insurance, but that was many years ago and I don't know if it's still the case.

Just don't talk to cops, ever. It isn't complicated, but it seals the deal for so many people. Give license and registration, no talk at all other than saying you won't answer questions. No field sobriety tests or any consent. Get arrested if they insist, but you are always better off. If you are dirty you are dirty, but it can only get worse with every word you say.
