Fantastic work! I'm impressed with the exquisite carpentry of this table. To build is hard enough, but to match it exactly as a pair.. wow, that is master level!!
It was gratifying to see the craftsmanship of the gilding with no shortcuts taken, done the right way, without being pressured for time. That is rare these days.
Thank you for being able to watch real artists at work!

    Absolutely astounding!
Not just the gilding but also the wonderfully reproduced table base construction. Excellent lesson in the art of gold leaf application and on the whole a fabulous demonstration, thank you so much folks.

For the metal leafs we use a 12-hour oil size and as for the water gilding its just water that activates the animal glue in the gesso.

Finally I found a respectable video on you tube, tired of watching amateurs ,my hat's off to you if I wore one, I would clap but I only have one hand, and would give you a standing ovation but I am handicapped. ,so I'll just say good job ,keep it up and you have all my respect

What a fab find, am working on an antique sewing machine case, unique piece - looks like a jewelry case -
Requiring some patient restoration - thus, I've decided to Gold Leaf some areas on it so I can manage to get the value of my labor when I price the piece.
A craftsmanship/technique I've yet to try - we shall see if I Master it - 1st try - (truly believe 8 must have been an artist/designer in another time - I'm blessed with a "just know how and/or quick study"

Gold leaf you could probably get from a local well sorted paint/artist shop, otherwise you have Manetti in Italy or some big gilding suppliers in Germany. As for a price estimate for your furniture I cant give you any indication until I have seen them. Depending on size and shape the price can vary a lot. But you are wellcomed to send some Pictures of them to our mail adress, you will find it on our website.

I have a quick question, I see you are using a combination of real gold and metal leaf. I want to know if you can burnish the metal leaf with the agate stone the same way you burnish the real gold???
    Please let me know!

although this is expert, gilding was justly critisized when it is used excessively it hides the beautiful wood. A gold surface is a harsh surface to the eye, wood is neutral and beautiful.
