I'd just like to say you're a great teacher. I have just discovered digital planning and didn't know where to start. Watching your video convinced me to use Onenote because I din't want to spend anymore money if I didn't stick with it. I have had a lot of fun playing around using Onenote and using my Surface Pro just a little bit more. I have also added Office Lens to my phone. I would love to see more videos on planning. Thanks so much
Fantastic Thankyou!! The idea just came to me recently to begin a virtual recipe book that I can share with my siblings and parents etc. what a great way to all share old family recipes that we would all love access to!
Great video - really helpful! What is the best way to add a search facility for example can you put a tag in various recipes saying 'low fat' or "WW" etc then pull all those up?
Putting a tag list at the end of the Recipe should work fine. The OneNote search engine will look for all occurrences of the word you are searching for. I found that sometimes it takes a bit of time for the newly added pages to be indexed so they show up in the search. You can limit the search to "This notebook", "This section", or "This Section Group", or "Find on this Page." That's handy if you have multiple notebooks, other than your Recipe one, and you want to exclude them from the Search.
Denise, do you have videos for the most recent OneNote? The reason I'm asking is that I'm not finding how I can add "Subsections" in my OneNote (Office 365). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
I am researching for a "electronic type" cookbook (birthday present) for wife to place her recipes and came across your video. It is absolutely great. Do you have a suggestion as to what or which type of tablet or laptop would be great to use for storing her recipes? Thanks a million from an ol' Texas boy for the tips!!
I looked in my settings and the class notebook tools were turned on already but I turned off and back on and it still wouldn't give me the stickers options. Is there any things else I can do to get the stickers? Thanks
I didn't see a way (I'm using the 2016 Desktop version). However, you could make a special index page, put in a Table, and include links to your pages. Then the Table can be sorted.
Hi Denise. Terrific video! The best I've seen for cookbooks. I do have a question though, and probably more to come: How do you add sub-folders? And sub-sub-folders? You have these in your tutorial, but I can't replicate your examples. I have both versions of Onenote, but prefer Onenote for Windows. Thank you very much.
Right-click one of the Sections and choose "New Section Group". Then you can create or move sections under that New Group heading. You can do the same with Pages. Right-click a current page, and choose "Make Sub-page". This will indent it slightly. You might want to create your Group Page first. You can also make pages into subpages by dragging them slightly to the right. This will indent them under the page above (I'm using the desktop OneNote 2016, not sure if it is different in the newer version).
I have over 200 cookbooks. I'd like to be able to search for recipes that contain a particular set of ingredients. In other words, I want to be able to list all the recipes that call for chocolate chips and pecans. Is there any way to do that in OneNote?
In the search field, you can type multiple words, and it will search for all pages that have any of those words. If you want the search to find only pages with both words, you have to use the word AND in between (it has to be all caps). You can also use the word OR and NEAR in searching. www.onenotegem.com/a/faq/onenote/2019/1126/1319.html

Thank you so much. I have been having major issues with my internet provider at home, but I hope to do more videos soon.

If you're talking about OneNote for Windows, it's called Make a Subpage or Promote a Subpage.

Try downloading the most recent version of the Class notebook add-in at www.onenote.com/classnotebook
Good day. Would like to see a demo video for Office Lens someday
Great presentation. Very helpful. Quick comment, is there a way to automatically alphabetize the pages within the Sections?
