With the My Little Pony palette, check out rawbeautykristi . She did a review on that palette and super imposed a photo on top of the palette showing the colors placed in different order. It made much more sense and made the palette more aesthetically appealing and you might change your mind. As you said, it's very affordable and pur cosmetics makes good shadows

What deters me from buying most new releases is the fact that everything lately is so childlike...similar to how you're over the whole "mermaid" trend. It just really turns me off.

I know I really liked the trolls and the my little pony palettes colour scheme but I refuse to own makeup that looks like it should be on a Claire's shelf lmao
Angel V --I wonder if these companies are marketing to young kids and teens?? The price point on that Pur palette is something a kid might be able to afford. I am not attracted at all to the kids' themes.
I will also pass with the Pony and Mermaid collections. The juvenile themes don't appeal to me. I'm over all the kid themes.

Lisa Locke OMG I feel that so hard. I'm 18 and despise these "themes." I should be able to get a colorful makeup product in sleek packaging, but apparently these brands don't agree 🙄🙄
Dior seems to be the only brand that "gets it" and gives you gorgeous reusable packaging.
Same thing with the Trolls theme that came out. I don't get why they are basing adults' makeup products with high price tags on children's movies that the makeup users will have never watched.

I agree with what you say about getting better products than K. K. W. stuff. Kim's and Kiley's products are overhyped to death since it has their names on their products. I'd rather go for better lip and eye products along with highlights too in NYX, Wet N WIld like you said MakeUp Revolution, and much more!
Yes I totally agree with you! I've seen so many mixed reviews on their products that I just feel like they aren't worth it. There are so many amazing affordable brands that are consistent with their quality!
MAC is the brand everyone loves but I can't get into it
filosophy same! I just don't think they're as good as everyone else does. I have two mediocre palettes and two lipsticks. Just not magical.
I agree with you Jesse! I remember when I first started wearing makeup, mac was the best of the best. now....not so much. they should really go cruelty free I know they'd reach a wider audience because they do have some good products. just when comparing them to other brands, even drugstore you can clearly see the difference in how they perform lol
I totally agree with you! I actually just bought my first MAC products like last year. I don't know what it is but I just didn't have any desire to buy their products!
For years I said I would one day go into the MAC store and buy myself a lipstick. So this past summer I went into the store and got the Twig lipstick. And to be honest my 2.99 essence lipstick in almost the same color lasts way longer, and NYX has an exact dupe that is better also.
I have some MAC lipsticks and that's all that I'm interested in.

Just wanted to say that it's so refreshing to actually hear a UA-camr say that they don't need more makeup items that are essentially the exact same as what they already have. Pretty much everyone else seems happy to just consume and purchase every single new thing that comes out. Seriously, thank you!
Kathleen lights reviewed the kkw contours and she sad they weren't worth the price so good call to skip it. I have never purchased any of the kardashian/Jenner products. They just don't entice me in any way, I would rather buy colourpop for sure. Dose of colors doesn't entice me either, so you aren't alone because I don't know why I have never been intrigued enough to try them

MAC seems way too over hyped to me, and tbh really mediocre and it doesn't help the fact that they test on animals. I always walk right past the MAC store at the mall and go straight to sephora!
Yes! I never got into MAC before I decided to go cruelty-free. I had only tried a few of their products, but I didn't get the hype. There are so many good brands at Sephora!

canuckgal I believe because MAC sells in China, China's regulations state that makeup being sold in China must be tested on animals for safety

Yeah, and the pink or gold packaging that a lot of brands have has to go. Charlotte Tillbury gold lipstick tubes, for example, are way too much, but their compacts that are the dark burgundy and gold are very pretty. Give me some classics - black, white, red. I am nearing 40, I do not want my makeup to look like I am in high school. I love Kat Von D's packaging. Even though I don't have/buy a lot from them, but NARS has a classic and instantly recognizable packaging, and I love the texture of their packaging too. High end makeup needs to be in high end packaging. I am most annoyed with Too Faced. Their classic eyeshadow tins are great, even the old cardboard packaging was cute. But this new peach crap, and plastic heart blushes just have to go. And now they are working on the strawberry collection... I mean, come on! It's like kids' play makeup, or scented markers.
Even with other makeup brands it's very hard to find "collectible edition" or "vintage" level packaging you feel like showing off to your friends. The packaging either reminds you that you are a hobo a MIB agent or a 14 year old girl... Rarely ever a "classy high end rich M'lady"
I saw someone on Snap taking the blushes out of the tarte palette and putting them in a magnetic palette. This is probably the only thing on the list that I would even consider buying because I love them. My son is disappointed that I'm not getting the MLP palette because he loves the cartoon.
Aw haha that's too cute! I can't believe that I've never seen the cartoon! I think the blush palette is a really great value. I'm curious to see if the quality is the same as their other Tarte blushes!
I really have no interest too faced. They are just too childish and girly for me especially for the price you pay.

Me too. I don't even really find myself reaching for my original chocolate bar palette anymore which is something I never thought I'd say.
I definitely get what you are saying! I feel like very few of their products appeal to me these days!
Jessica Romo too faced is very basic in terms of creativity with eyeshadows I feel like in every palette they release there are so many repeats. The packaging is cute and all but I just wish they would step it up. The too cute palette is ok. I also don't understand the hype around the peach collection I knew that palette was gonna come back I think they used it as a marketing technique. when they came back with it they had alll these other peach products. It takes a lot of time to create products therefore the re release was definitely planned. I also thought the new palette with Kandee was gonna be the one but again the shades are all repeated to me. Sorry for the rant! I don't hate the brand at all these are just my thoughts.

Kylie cosmetics doesn't appeal to me. The desiXkaty collab is the first thing I've ever bought from dose of colors. I bought the eyeshadows which are beautiful and their nude lipstick called no shade...and it is the perfect nude!!

I don't care either way but because of his rockstar(TM) personality, he want's his products to feel "special" is the vibe i get from it. Honestly i just want shimmery lipsticks.
Personality aside, I love his products, specially his liquid lipsticks. The only products I don't care for are his highlighters. Got one and didn't impressed me.

I really don't understand big blush palettes. How many blushes do you really need? There are only so many shades of pink and it kind of seems like a waste to me.
I hear you! I feel like those palettes always go to waste for me because it takes FOREVER for me to use up an entire blush! I've been using the same two almost every single day this year and I haven't even hit pan on them!

Agree. I bought a buxom gloss aid its okay. Much prefer the NYX butter gloss
I have heard hula is overhyped. She is also publicly anti semetic so I won't buy anything from huda.
Huda Beauty is definitely one of my "uh okay, dunno why this is so popular..." brands. Same with Too Faced. To a lesser extent, I'm also not super blown away by Benefit, Stila, etc. There's a lot of brands that have some nice products but they just don't impress me to where I want to fangirl out.
As far as Dose of Colors goes, check out Stephanie Nicole's liquid lipstick review! She has an entire series testing formulas against eachother & basically ranking them on various aspects, like price & weartime & dryness. I think DoC is her favourite :)

The desixkaty collection is fireeee! So good. "The girls" eyeshadow palette is so versatile and so unique. I personally can't wait for the restock to grab more of it 🙌🏼
I'm 100% buying Kandee's palette. She is a total natural eyeshadow girl and she actually created all these colors and the formula is different as well. The black was made in a different factory just so she could get it exactly how she wanted it. I feel like she's so taller and amazing that any makeup product she creates will be amazing ❤️
I thought I wanted the Kandee palette but when you mentioned how it looks similar to the Chocolate Bar palettes, I realized how right you are! Thanks for saving me some money.

I lost interest in CP once they started having a new release every week. I use to buy every new release but now I don't care what they release next because I probably have something similar already and don't want to spend so much money trying to keep up. 😓
I totally feel the same way! I like new products, but I feel like there is such thing as too many new products! I wish they would slow down and maybe come out with bigger collections fewer times a year!
Andréa Matillano I agree! For me the excitement wears down when it's a new release every other week as it may seem. I don't want the Yes Please or She palettes as well because it's too much of a hassle to buy (a point you mentioned) I lose interest and become content with using other products within my collection or buying something easily accessible.

I totally agree about Kim K.W. I think in terms of highlighter and contouring you can find so much better and so pigmented products in drugstore.

Update: i agree with your reasoning behind the kkw contour palette. For me id rather get the Kat von d contour palette because i know its good and will get my moneys worth and sometimes kkw products are hits and misses which sucks because your paying alot. Thats just me though.

Love your anti hauls. I've been buying less makeup recently because I just have too much. I even canceled a couple beauty box subscriptions too. I even find it difficult choosing what to buy in Sephora when I need to use my play card from my Sephoraplay box.
The WNW mermaid highlight is gorgeous!!! I didn't think I would like it at all but its unique and wearable :)

Andréa, you look AMAZING today! Wow! I picked up the highlight from the Wet n Wild collection and actually love it on my skin and as an eyeshadow! Also, I picked up everything from the DxK collection except Mírame, the darker highlight. I don't love the cream lipsticks on me but everything else is honestly a huge hit! I loved this video and love how you really give good reasoning and ask our opinions.
I have Dose of Colors Marvelous Mauves eyeshadow palette and I love it!! These are all matte shades and the quality of these are amazing! I would definitely recommend this palette for sure!

I have one Pur cosmetics eyeshadow palette, the selfie palette. I have not played with it a lot, but have used it several times. One thing is for sure, those shadows are pigmented! They're soft, they are blendable and you need a very light hand. Really great quality.
You have me intrigued with the Buxom White Russian gloss… I think I'm going to have to get one!
Huda Beauty, Dose of colours, Jeffrey Star and Kylie Cosmetics. I live in Germany and it´s a bit stressful to get those brands. Others like Tarte are easy to ship, but those brands just don´t appeal that much to me that it´s worth the truble.

yes yes yes to these videos. I was literally just on the Colourpop website looking around after the concealer restock and I am also confused about the 2nd brow pencil. It looks exactly the same as the first one, so I agree with you there! I really want to buy the concealer, but there's NO WAY i'll be able to order it any time soon!

Even if I wasn't a fan of a certain celebrity, but their makeup line is amazing & works for me I'm down with that!
Honestly, Dose of Colors is one of my favorite brands. Their liquid lipsticks are some of my staples, and I also really love the glosses and eyedeal duos. I highly recommend their products!
I purchased the Dose of Colors DesixKaty collaboration and my favorite product is the eyeshadow palette! The colors are so gorgeous on the eyes! I also enjoy the liquid lipsticks. They really are an amazing formula!
Kandee's palette is unique. It's SOOO good and beautiful.
I heard the dose of colors lip products are great and would like to try. I know everyone always talks about colorpop, and they are affordable but I've never had an interest in trying. I think it's because there is soo much stuff that I get overwhelmed and just avoid it altogether.

I bought the entire dose collection and the lipsticks, bullet and liquid, weren't my favorite. But the highlights. Fuego specifically. So good. SOOO GOOD.
I purchased the My Little Pony eyeshadow palette more for nostalgia reasons. I was really surprised how much I loved it. This was my first anything from Pür Cosmetics. I also purchased their Day Dream and Night Fantasy palette duo and I love them also. I have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the shadows.
We must have the same makeup taste because those are the collections I'm skipping as well! - Except for the new wet n' wild highlight bar! I really want to try that :) And I agree! I don't like palettes that are huge and bulky either.

The desixkaty collection was my first Dose of Colors purchase and no regret. Love the items I received and looking forward to the restock!
I wasn't going to get the tarte blush palette but then I realized it's super easy to depot because they're all held in with magnets, not glue. The palette itself is foam, so it's a little flexible too. I don't have z-palettes, I have the artbin magnetic boxes, which are smaller, so I find it easier to store and easier to reach for. :)
I completely agree with EVERYTHING you said. I love the idea of holiday releases but I always hate the packaging. I have never tried dose of colors I've actually heard of the brand only last year...

I agree with most of the products you mentioned besides the desixkaty dose of colors collection. It is by far the best UA-camr/ beauty influencer collab I have ever purchased. I think you should pick some things up. Especially the lipsticks and highlighters 😍😍😍

As I watched this video, you literally spoke of EVERY single makeup product that I'm also passing on!!!! And to be honest I've been buying a lot of makeup from the drugstore lately. Drugstore makeup brands have definitely been stepping their game up but the only thing I'm hating is they are raising prices also!

As far as a product I would recommend from their line I would say try the Pur Liquid Veil 4-in-1 Spray Foundation. I love it because it is so easy and quick to apply and the finish is amazing.
Dose of color doesn't make an impression on me either. Don't know why. I'm the same way with many brands though, like it cosmetics? I see it but it's like eh. Same with smash box, bare minerals, Buxom, Stila, even tarte. They're boring to me. I'm pretty into indie brands, they're always more interesting.
I'm not going to lie, but that Tarte blush palette looks tempting...I also love your hair. Mine is finally getting back to normal after a few surgeries.
The DesiXkaty collab is sooo good. I have no Dose of Colors products. I only got it for katy! Haha. But anywho.... the highlight mírame is sooooo good! It looks dark but when you put it on it like melts into your skin & its blinding!!
You're right about the Two Faced Palette. I have the Love Palette that most recently came out and half of those are in it.😬
