dweezil is doing the right thing keeping franks music alive, im 16 and he's my favourite musical artist. i dont know anyone my age who even knows this music :(( a true legend and much respect to dweezil :))
I love that Dweezel is doing this, because there's some damn good music (and musicians) being showcased here. He's not the guitar player Frank was (not bad though), and is certainly not the conductor Frank was, but he's keeping the music alive in a good way. Thanks Dweezle!
That is really good to hear. I heard Frank play live about six times, probably the first time when I was your age. It took a while to realize that his music was ground breaking as well as entertaining. I only recently learned that Dweezil was continuing the legacy. From what I hear, he seems to be doing pretty well.
Some of Dweezil's band members, Are the original members of Frank's band, Such as Napoleon Murphy Brock and George Duke...They'd NEVER have played Frank's music with Dweezil, Unless they determined that his renditions were true to Frank's vision!!
I just saw Dweezil's performance, i work at the triple door; guy was bitchin' and made a frank fan out of me, a former prog rock and hip hop nut. This is my favorite song, frank's pound for a brown on a bus...hope you all enjoy Dweezil's version as much as I Do!
DWeezils Ripped My Flesh - Frank, possibly the most innovative musician of the 20th century. Saw Mothers in San Fran, in the round, just after Apostrophe was released. ZPZ, I could listen to for a long, long time. Steve Vai is a terrifying Woof.
guys, dweezil is incredible, seen him play with the grandmothers reinvented, that is napoleon murphy brock, roy estrada and don preston. he is a fantastic guitarist, and picked up all the good things from his dad, frank wouldn't like you badmouthing his son
ok people I've had enough of all you who try to belittle Dweezil Zappa. And I'll punch everyone in the nose who speaks bad about FZ, I've seen old Frankie twice and enjoyed it immensly. And I've Dweezil once and every chance to see him again, I'll be there. He keeps FZ's music alive. Just because Mozart is dead does not mean I will not go listen to a live performance of his concertos. The same with Dweezil. He is not Frank. No one can be, but he keeps the music alive, as everyone can see!
And it's fuckin'true, god I love Frank, my live is based on his work, miss him really!! Dweezil does a very good job, i've seen him here in holland and it was really great! hope to see him again!!! Is it Dirty Love??
Lots of people your age and younger than you know who Zappa is. I hate it when little brats think theyre so different or are going against the grain because they heard of someone who isnt on top 40.
drdotislovinlife Man ! That would be the best tribute for Frank and you ruin it with your comment that just completely ignores the work behind this masterpiece !
Okay, very glad you don't feel secure enough to avoid useless insults, bro'... Just saying, this is beautiful, there's work behind it and if you don't like it you can shut your quacker !
Dweezil did a great job on the solo. Played it mostly like himself, but added a blend of Frank's phrasing in with his own. Great tone as well!
They're all super sick musicians, but I've had to say the xylophone player was my fav on this tune, he was wildn out
dweezil is doing the right thing keeping franks music alive, im 16 and he's my favourite musical artist. i dont know anyone my age who even knows this music :(( a true legend and much respect to dweezil :))
Fantastic version and Napoleon Murphy Brock just kicks it to another level of authenticity.
This is killer...:)...Great job!!!!!..Where else you gonna go to hear a xylophone like this one..??..
By the beard of Zeus this video is just legendary. Saving it right now

For those of us that have been a Zappa fan for at least 40 years, appreciate what Dweezil is doing. Go see a ZPZ concert, then decide.
I saw ZappapPlaysZappa at the Royal Albert Hall in London back in 2007? Was an amazing concert with so much talent on the stage.
seen this band live in scotland absolutely superb ,your dad would be soso proud ,me i am just delighted
Awright folks, don't touch that dial !!!
Without the beard Frank looks a little like a clean shaven Jim Morrison
🦉🐷🖤💲🕵️♀️🔬⚖💉⚰🤩🤡👌🤣
frank love this, his son did him proud!
prog rock and hip hop? interesting combo, man. Frank's music will never die. ROCK ON!
This is soooooooo goooooood! So professional and funny! Such quality!
Maybe a slight update, "I'm the slime oozing out from the Murdoch Press"
"I'm the slime oozin' out from your internet!

It also touches the subject of enema!
As always don't eat the yellow snow.
I saw Zappa in the 60's when I was in NYC. Amazing

Makes Me Want To Cry With Happiness
Saw him open for Jeff Beck at the Nokia theater here in Los Angeles in April! Great sounding concert!!!
I would love to see Dweezil Zappa jam with Lucciano Napolitano like Eric Sardinas did.
no! I am the slime.

This has to be one of, if not the best, intro to any song
@TINCANWRANGLER It was shown on TV, a whole concert, and this is a clip from it.
Good comment. Damphear's advice is worth about the same as most unsolicited advice; less than nothing.
Zappa Plays Zappa :)
Damn.
canzone molto attuale!!!!
Or he could continue doing what he's doing. Being his son, not him. He wanted to revive his music and keep it alive, not be his dad.

Joel McHale from Glee look-alike on Keyboards LOL
Much better sped up to 1.25 Well Frank would have done something like that.
@svenolley No, I am the slime! lol

5:19 Pound For A Brown
Agreed
Salut ZAPPA ✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
What are these guys called? Anyone!?
so cool watch this
nice pound for a brown!|
A pound for a brown (on the bus) many versions many albums about 20 sorry
Dweezil is to stiff. he needs to losen up and try to be like his dad a little more. not 100% but he should try to be like how he was on stage
still, it's not Frank.. Frank is the best.
drdotislovinlife Man ! That would be the best tribute for Frank and you ruin it with your comment that just completely ignores the work behind this masterpiece !
Tu peux toujours Chercher screw you. ZPZ Is NOT Frank Zappa. Dweezil is merely a Tribute band.
Okay, very glad you don't feel secure enough to avoid useless insults, bro'... Just saying, this is beautiful, there's work behind it and if you don't like it you can shut your quacker !
Dweezil is doing such a great job. He does Franks music, sometimes better than the old man himself.
