I hope someone from GB swimming watches this video and even reads this comment… *Sorry for the length of it ha. What an absolute disgrace it is that you were rejected when applying to recently join a performance centre. GB swimming should be investing in you for the LA 2028 olympics as a potential medley relay swimmer (at the very least). You are now the 3rd fastest Brit in history and you did this at a level 3 meet at 10.30am, whilst also swimming for your club. You are the fastest British male in the 100 FLY SC this year. It makes me think: what do you actually need to do to join a performance centre? And… what’s a little worrying from a neutral perspective is that both the performance centre boys that went to the worlds didn’t even make the semi-final and like you said, you would have qualified in 10th into the semi finals with that exact swim. Something isn’t quite right for those performance centre boys…is it the coaching/programme? I don’t know… it can’t just be ‘we are focusing on trials in April’. They should have been better at worlds - period. Anyways….Big credit to you and your coach. Bloody love that you went sub 50s at the Derby meet to close out 2024 in style. And I really hope that you smash it at trials in April and make the GB team for worlds.
