Well darn it, @OneAlphaMike, I hadn't even heard of Sling until picking it up through EAA...And now you've gone and convinced me I must have it. My wife won't be happy with you. Love your content - keep 'em coming! I'd really love to pick your brain about the build process and geek out on you if you'd be up for a DM or two.

Beautiful build! Stunning color and graphic choice and the blue detail on the little interior pieces is a nice touch! If I was going to build a sling, I would probably consider a very similar style. I'm always a sucker for blue, especially with silver, but I have to say, some of the latest bold bright colors coming out on new Cirrus and Quest Kodiak aircraft definitely speak to me as well! Deciding on color and graphics would probably be the hardest part of the whole build for me. Haha!
After all that time and effort, the greatest feeling in the world HAS to be the first takeoff and landing ! I'll say this, it may be the most beautiful design and paint I've seen. Great video, thanks for sharing and safe skies always !
It's gotta be difficult to walk away from it after putting it to bed in the hanger, without continually looking back over your shoulder at what a beautiful aircraft you built. Awesome build Mike. What did it feel like on your first flight? That rush was well deserved.
Seeing this video and finding the "gotcha" section in the forum, there's truly no reason to get the quickbuild option unless you're suffering from too much money. The simple wing jigs and build-up of the fuselage look ridiculously easy. If anything, a quickbuild kit would bump up your space requirements, because now you have to juggle the wings AND fuselage instead of completing the wings and strapping them to the ceiling somewhere. Everything you need for success in a timely manner wouldn't really suffer from the standard kit, because it's just a linear function of time. The things that will typically kill a project, they grow exponentially: not having a convenient build space, time/motivation, and/or limited skills/talent/help.
Honestky I'm going to be doing the quick build fuselage for the vans I build simply because I don't have a site I can store it and will have to travel every other week to work on it so quicker will ne better for me. It's a good option to have but not something that should be rushed into willy nilly
@@crazycons About 1400 hours over the course of a year. Honestly, it would have taken a lot longer without the expert Build Assistance from @Evan Brunye.

Yeah, on the TSi they dimpled all rivets in the forward third of the wing and fuselage for drag reduction / improved speed. Evidently flush rivets aft of that doesn't help, aerodynamically speaking. However, I noticed they dimpled all the rivets on the aft fuselage of the Sling HW's, I think just for aesthetics.

About a year, thanks to build assist from Evan Brunye. Would have taken me many years by myself.

coool. how much the cost
About $250k, though prices have gone up since then.

Not scuffing, just bubbles in the plastic that's still on the skin.
