Sex and the City: Berger Dumps Carrie With A Post-It Note (Season 6 Clip) | HBO - Розваги
So your friend is gonna get married and your WHOLE conversation is about a postit from a guy you've been dating for a couple of weeks. That's Carrie ALL the time.
Prior to Charlottes news Carrie said she had news. Charlotte jumped in first so that was kind of rude
@@hillyplays29 it was HUGE news! Obviously she had to interrupt
@@inmam.1299 She also literally ASKED. Lol.
Charlotte specifically asked Carrie after she told her news. But Charlotte always was the most enlightened with her views. (The post it over the ring was a bit rude.)
Selfishness covers friendship.
“The mf’s concise” love it
That line always makes me smile….love Samantha ❤
2 seconds for her friend's engagement, then straight on to HER problems.
In Carrie's defense, Charlotte was the one who changed the subject and asked Carrie to talk about her news.
Toxic af
@@Valreea This is true, I stand corrected.
So ignore Samantha second ring dig, ignore the fact that Charlotte asked or that Miranda literally brought up how she was dumped. But ok!!!
That's Carrie in a nutshell. 🙄🙄😒😒
They don’t even ask Charlotte how Harry proposed. Not true to real life.
Yep and she had a great story
No one cares.
They always treat Charlotte like an alien.
Surprise....it's TV show.....
Well, Samantha and Miranda aren’t into marriage and romance much, though they were sweet and supportive to her nonetheless. Plus, you know Carrie, she was too absorbed with her own problems.
“I miss having a doorman” Samantha carried this show. And that’s not a pun.
She was the best.
@@CR-be3un “motherf**ker is concise” 😂 …love Samantha ❤
How would that be a pun?
@@ZekeBurns-om3yt”Carrie” carried
I think the fact Kim was cast aside by the three other actresses actually was felt on screen. Samantha always felt a bit of an outsider, but a strong and independent one. I think it actually made Samantha's character even more unique and alluring. She was never really one of the girly girls, but a sort of an outsider who is in fact way - way - more fabulous.
Gee! I could hear Samatha saying that: “way - more fabulous!” 😍
Jeez, take 2 minutes to celebrate your friend's engagement... Not everything is about you, Carrie...
It's fu#%@g fiction ffks
Well, Charlotte did change the subject and ask her.
Lol Charlotte literally asked her “So Carrie what was your news?”
No I agree with you. Charlotte had no idea that Carrie had bad news. But if Carrie was a good friend, she would have either not mentioned it and saved it for later and or mentioned it briefly and reverted the conversation back to Charlotte.
Plus don’t get me started when she put her post it note on Charlotte engagement ring. No one can say that if your best friend did that would you be okay with the disrespectful act.
People who defend Carrie in this scene must not have seen other episodes. Carrie is a toxic friend.
I mean she is the protagonist
So Charlotte after doing through the heartbreak of Trey, dealing with infertility, and Harry saying that they can adopt, proving that he's the best man in the world. dealing with Harry breaking up, and getting back together and being happy and content in finding the best man in the world. No it's all about bloody Carrie and the post it, and the man she was dating for about five minutes
I mean Charlotte did ask her what her news was
(Carrie is the main character)
@@philbecker4676 and she knows it, clearly.
💯
@@philbecker4676 now it's Miranda
My favorite part of the episode is the cop who has to give her a ticket , even after he hears about the breakup. As he's writing out the ticket and she's begging him to give her a break he says "I'm sorry. I can't. Don't hate me". 🤣🤣🤣
She was toking a joint. I know it was 2003 but seriously, it wasn’t that big of a deal to begin with.
😂😂😂
omg yess, I watched this yesterday for the first time, I laughed so hard I had to stop the episode🤣🤣🤣
It’s kind of admirable that these two actresses set aside their differences while on screen. I always liked the chemistry between these two characters, so kudos for their professionalism.
I was just thinking the same thing while watching this. They were both amazing performers.
I swear I can feel the tension...maybe I'm crazy ..
It wasn't always done well. You can pick it up sometimes by sjp facial expressions in some scenes that would not have warranted it.
Who?
I found it fascinating because I never knew they didn’t get along until after the show ended. It’s testament to their skills as actors to be able to turn on chemistry with someone you can stand
Carrie is so narcissistic. If this was me and a friend had just announced her engagement, I would leave my break-up story for much later and let her tell me all about the big moment. Even if she asked what my big news was, I'd say I'll tell her later and then ask how he proposed. So selfish. And plonking the Post-It over her new engagement ring is so gross.
Oui le coup du post it sur la bague était nul
Yep. But Carrie was a textbook benevolent narcissist. Not actively dangerous, but God help you if you don't do what she wants. Just ask Samantha.
@@elenachristian9860 There's no such thing as a benevolent narcissist.
The thing is... there was a clear moment of silence between the news. So it wasn't just Carrie, Miranda & Samantha also didn't have any interest in Charlotte's story besides quick complementing the ring. That's some friends.
This a common theme with Carrie. I am honestly surprised they stayed friends with her. Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda all have genuine issues that women deal with... E.I. unwanted pregnancy, balancing working a motherhood, infertility, realizing what you want vs. what you need in a relationship...
I know Charlotte butted in and interrupted Carrie, but Carrie really should have saved her news for later and let Charlotte enjoy her happiness. But of course, Carrie’s problems overshadow everything else.
Maybe that's one of the reasons Sam/Kim didn't return to the show. She got tired of it always being about Carrie/SJP. Then again it might be kinda hard to say that bc the writers did a really good job @ giving each of the girls their own story and time.
But she did let Charlotte enjoy her happiness. She expressed happiness for her engagement and complimented the ring. Then when asked by Charlotte what her news was she responded. What else was she supposed to do?
@@afrosensei5308 yeah and then she put her post it note on top of her ring to prove a point that her break up trumps her engagement.
@@BengiKayScarlet In real life that could definitely be taken the wrong way. But in a tv show it's a good endpoint for a scene. Also, and I repeat Charlotte literally said "So Carrie what was your news?" Charlotte wanted to change the subject because Samantha bringing up her first engagement ring made her uncomfortable (not that Samantha meant to do that). Carrie isn't always a great friend. But other than the paper covers rock part, I don't see anything wrong with what she did here
@@CC-si3cr Kim said she wouldn't come back bc SJP bullied & ostracized her on set. I feel bad for Kim Cattrall, she was she best part of the show but often got no respect for it
That WAS cold as ice but Miranda’s doorman story was no picnic either.
Love this show❤️
@Keith Cousins delete your ridiculous reply from MY comment
Miranda's doorman was worse...nobody had to know how Carrie got dumped unless Carrie told them....Miranda's guy made the doorman the witness..awkward.
If i was a guy and had to break up with her, I'll do the same.
"paper covers rock" such a savage. LOL
I like how Samantha almost sounds impressed with the guy for not beating around the bush at all.
"Not beating around the bush" sounds like something Samantha could also have said. 😁
1:10 “I miss having a doorman!” Love the randomness of Samantha’s comments!
charlottes ring is nice
Aww this is my dream 😩 it’s fabulous 😍
it seems to me this is Tiffany… 🤔
I am so happy Charlotte found what she had been looking for. And kudos to Samantha, who is always true to herself.
Carrie covering the ring with a post it is insane 😅 and I was prepared to defend her 😭
Carrie's hair in this episode is chef's kiss! It's just perfect. I don't like the character but really love her hair lol
Same. Very wavely and not too blonde!!!
I had a friend like Carrie, every conversation was about her , her , her. 😂😂😂😂
Amazing how a 2 minute scene can deliver a textbook example of a complete narcissist. Charlotte almost never has the floor during their brunches and she's getting engaged, but it had to be all about Carrie's ex that no one ever cared about.
Samantha wearing the most colorful outfit and being FABULOUS
Watching this show as a college student back in the early 00s, I never noticed how utterly rude, insensitive & self-absorbed Carrie is.
Now nearly 20 years later, her horrible behaviour is pretty much all I can see. Berger was certainly a coward to break up with her that way, but she deserved it.
Haha, same, i also watched this show when i was 20 and i pretty much liked everyone, including Carrie. Now she looks childish.
@@Nyuffykahyes!!! Same exact feelings. I’m wondering how I admired her.
Ok misogynist 🙄
“Listen to me being all hurt; look how many men have broken up with you and you're fine.”
Carrie is truly a terrible person.
You know it was a joke?
@@MrsFahrenheit991 you know men dont get jokes , they're are one
Carrie is annoying, but that's not what she meant in this case -- she was jokingly referring to all the Post-Its Samantha had in her planner for PR events (not breakups).
Favourite show, least favourite scene. Poor Charlotte got a whole 10 seconds of attention on her engagement. 🤦🏻♀️
Samantha is definitely the coolest and most fun friend. Always got an invite to something awesome to do to cheer you up.
“Paper covers rock”🤣🤣🤣
Greatest show ever there will never be anything like this again
Thank God !
You've got to be kidding 😂
Amen! Awesome show
Honestly I have endless criticism about Carrie but I just rewatched the Berger episodes and he was honestly probably the worst boyfriend of them all.
Well, in Berger's defense he was in a bad place in his personal life to be starting a new relationship. Plus I guess he felt Carrie was not the one. At least he didn't string her along like Big did.
Absolutely - the worst kind of man is one who can’t get over feeling threatened by his girlfriend’s success. That’s why he chose such an under-handed way to break it off with her - he wanted to steal back all the power in the end and couldn’t have chosen a more cowardly, childish and petty way to do it.
He’s always been the WORST imo
100%. Which is hard 'cos I like the actor who played him
For people saying Charlotte asked her, that’s NOT the point. The point is that Carrie chose to keep the focus on it, yes she could have mentioned it, but she chose not to take the opportunity to put the focus back on her friends big news. She even covered her friends ring with the post-it. That’s what makes this a typical Carrie moment. Those of you who thinks this behaviour is ok, well, you’re just a bunch of Carries.
Even more fabulous than your first one! God, Samantha is a gift that keeps giving.
I know some people may feel like charlotte felt awkward of the reminder but you gotta know/understand Sam - she’s always rooting for the upgrade and basically compliments charlotte on doing better (and in Sam’s mind it’s how it should be)
Paper covers rock,….i think people overlook how good the writing is on ghis show
lol - I "ghis" was an acronym for something.
@@CC-si3cr don't be obtuse
Now, see...I would punch have punch Carrie (or anyone) who placed a sticky note on my engagement ring. Like, come on Carrie! That's just rude, even for you.
I know! And such a cheap line in "Paper covers rock!" Who would say that to a supposed friend? Just for the sake of an easy laugh?
I love how Miranda got furious after hearing Berger broke with Carrie on a post-it.
Lol truthfully that was a great episode though. Miranda fit into her skinny jeans, they almost got arrested. Then it ends with all of them high eating a banana split lol. I honestly didn’t see how selfish Carrie was until I was an adult lol. But still this was one of my favorite episodes.
It’s always about Carrie. Your best friend shares a huge news of getting proposed to but yet it always turns back to Carrie
@@saranicolas1860 that wasn’t really the point. Main character or not she was a narcissist
I've counted that chatlotte got 23 seconds to say she is gonna get married and then it's all about that blondie....
Sometimes if I'm in a big group and someone finishes telling an overly long and sad story I'll just go, "I miss having a doorman"
Charlotte was wise enough to say everything happens for a reason.. because it is!!... watching it now hits different than when i was young😆😆
I'm from a different generation but I do love this show, I wish they had more seasons! ❤️
they do , it’s called 2 movies and then afterwards it’s called AndJustLikeThat
@@MooLounge just like that was terrible
Me too! But I think one of the reasons the greats from early premium/paid network prestige comedies and dramas like this and “Sopranos” stand the test of time and are so highly regarded is that they thoughtfully ended those shows *well before* they had a chance to fall in the quality of scripts, get bad direction, or lose their magic. There’s a real power in knowing when to leave the party.
Carrie of all people fully deserved to be broken up with via post-it.
All about Carrie despite Charlotte's engagement
Charlotte did ask Carrie to tell her story though
Carrie said she had news first and then Charlotte cut her off. It’s Charlotte’s second marriage, so how excited is everyone supposed to get. Plus Charlotte asked Carrie what her news was.
Non je la comprend sur ce coup là. Elle en avait gros sur la patate. En plus Charlotte lui demande ce qu'il se passe.
@@bleazyful they bring that up later in that episode, Charlotte didn't want everyone to make it a big deal because its her second marriage because she changes her mind later :)
Better a post-it then being “ghosted”.
Carrie como siempre haciendo que todo sea sobre ella.
I have a fun theory. Carrie has schizophrenia and she's really sitting alone talking to herself.
Shahhahahahahah ruuude😂😂😂
A post it on 2000. A whatsapp (and a blocking) on 2020.
I had to smile but it’s actually sad
This is the show I miss. Not the reboot.
Say whatever you want about Carrie in this scene, BUT you gotta admit... "Paper covers rock," is an amazingly clever quote. 😃😆
True, because it makes the conversation all about MEEEEEEEE!
It is, but I think that's one of this show's biggest flaws, as much as I love it -- the writers so loved the witticisms and wordplay that sometimes they'd make the characters say something ridiculous and even insensitive just because it was funny.
Paper covers rock, perfect writing.
My favorite part of the episode is when she goes off on his friends at the club. Spoke up for every ghosted woman ever.
And then they have to leave the club 😂😂
At the beginning I wanted to defend Carrie as Charlotte does change the subject onto her news. But man, she really did make her breakup a much bigger thing than her friend's engagement.
Carrie's breakup news completely outshined Charlotte's engagement 😂
samantha - great
miranda - understandable
charlotte - down to earth and sweet
carrie - narcissistic, arrogant and entitled
It is really stunning that they weren’t friends off camera . I always thought Carrie and Sam were besties.
They’re actresses. They get paid to be friends. But they dont get paid to be friends off camera.
Carrie and Sam were besties it's Sarah and Kim that wasn't. They must've really loved the money they were making because they couldn't stand each other at all.
Berger dodged a bullet, Carrie is a mess and the most self centered person on the show.
It’s important to note that these women weren’t enemies, they just weren’t friends
Lol this show makes me laugh. I used to think they were all such great friends but they're all quite catty to each other.
Considering how carrie is like , I would have be scared to even leave a posted . I would just leave.... loving Samantha tho ❤ Samantha was the only reason I would watch the show
0:43 I can't stop watching this part lol
Better than being ghosted 👻
The fact that they didn't even know Charlotte and Harry got back together (let alone got engaged) and Carrie STILL made it about herself immediately
"the motherfucker's concise..." I love Samantha! LOLOLOL!!!
That was funny😂😂
Poor Samantha, she had to listen it longer than other girls))
Those are the episodes I miss watching!!!
“Look how many men have broken up with you and you’re fine” really!!! What a friend
It’s so fun when friends have news! 😂
The older i get the more i realize that this is not a healthy friendship. Its all about Carry and thats it.
Yup
Look at the huge booklet, those days with papers 😂 I’m thankful I can just carry a smartphone now. 😊 I love this series!
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE EPISODES
This was one of my favorite episodes..
they had a great time that night and Miranda finally fit in those jeans! Lol
Carrie made Charlotte’s big news seem so insignificant. 😠
I love the paper covers rock thing 😂😂
I can't see Ron Livingston in anything now without thinking "Dumped Carrie on a post it note". Band of brothers? Yeah, post it note guy. Dinner for schmucks? Yeah, post it note. Boardwalk Empire? Yeah.....Post it dude. There was so many boyfriend characters on that show, but the Berger character really stood out. I often don't remember that this character came out with the "he's just not that into you" epiphany. I just remember post it note 😂
"Paper covers rock." 🤣
Miranda looks great here. Usually they dress her in frumpy stuff
I guess no one caught on that Samantha basically reeled Charlotte in by mentioning her first perfect ring. Samantha never cared for Charlotte’s romanticism and shipping everyone.
I agree. To me Samanthas comment to Charlotte about this ring is malicious. She takes the oppurtunity to remind everyone that it is the second engagement. Why would you tear your friend down like that. Charlotte is clearly sad about the previous marriage failing. By comparing rings it is suggested that the relationships are compareable. Also, Charlotte mentiones that the ring is a replica of a ring Elizabeth Taylor received. She was married 8 times. With Samantha pointing out that this is the second engagement ring immediately after Charlotte mentioning Elizabeth Taylor, it comes across as if Samantha is suggesting that Charlotte is collecting husbands and this won't be her last husband.
Then post-its and phone break-ups were bad. What are we gonna say now, when people ghost each other...
I just watched S6E2 and saw some sneaky foreshadowing about the post-it breakup! While Burger is on the phone to Carrie about he's playing with a post-it that has her name and number on it! It's right after their lousy first time in bed, so it's kinda like a sign things are not going in the right direction. Not sure if it's foreshadowing, but it's something!
We ALL NEED a Samantha in our lives!….. I’m sure Kim Catrall knew they were going to ruin her character like they did every single character in And Just Like That!
In Charlotte's voice: Carrie, I love you but right now is my moment! Why Charlotte wasn't asked how Harry asked to marry her???
Carrie is so self centered pfff
I love Sam’s outfit
Everything is about Carrie afterall.
Jonathan won’t be coming down….ever 😅😅😅
If Carrie didn't revolve her whole life around her little article she'd be a way better friend.
Post it’s were todays text message ppl 😂😂😂
I love Carrie. She’s messy and flawed and real. I see I’m alone here but id always priorities hurtful events over happy ones, no matter how small. If I was in a beaming state I wouldn’t mind one bit turning to a friend who feels down. Not even on my wedding day, 😊
You're not alone! I love Carrie too. Get lots of disapproval for it. I'm probably as selfish tbf but she's fun, witty and interesting. Imo anyway!😅
Yeah I like Carrie too. She’s humanly flawed, which is an outgrowth of her personality. Too many female characters today either aren’t flawed or their flaws feel too contrived or self conscious as if they’re screaming: “look at me, I’m a complex character (for a woman) because I’ve got all of these flaws!”
Carrie is so selfish
Carrie needs shorter hair in the reboot! It looks so good on her
Berger was smart to dump the selfish, immature, narcissistic Carrie.
One of best shows ever. With Seinfeld, Felicity, Friends, and, some others...
LOVE Carrie's haircut. She looks flawless.
Uhg, this was such a good season!
Even better than your first one!!
“Crickets”
I so hope Berger is happy with Nina Katz and they run into Carrie and Aidan in Season 3 of AJLT
Lol
SJP has the Rachel haircut
Samatha does it for me.😂😂😂
This is my favorite one! ❤
Carrie getting just what she deserves 😌
I think charlotte could have waited to talk about harry since carrie was so worked up when she arrived, but after she had already told them about harry, carrie should have waited to talk to her
Carry had no real issue. She wanted to break up with Burger and then Burger brook up with her. Done, easy, next.
