They all have to be charged and either come with a charger or have a built in one. Having been a Wheelchair Tech for over 40 years, I recommend the a charger you plug your chair into. Much easier to swap out if there's an issue. But if you feel better about always being prepared, than get the onboard charger.

It’s lightweight enough that my friend could carry it up or down stairs when we needed to. (I can walk very short distances) It was comfortable for me to sit in, I would say if you’re super tall it might be a little cramped. I’m 5’1” and the foot rests were the perfect height. This may not be the best one for long term use, you get what you pay for, but for something that fits our budget that gives me accessibility while we deal with my health this was amazing.
Have / had nothing but problems with my chair since new in 2019 , Everything was replace ,controllers ,cables, ECU and still it played up So much so my supplier stopped using the brand Which was a shame as i had tp purchase a new chair for outdoors The X8 mobility Simply put " Perfect " and i can actually go all day without being picked up and towed home ,It wasn't the Permobil chair so much other than it was a problum But more so the company To many people passing the blame and not caring No one and I mean no one would take the problem seriously They just past you from one person to another Just wearing us both down , Big Company's No More ..
only for the rich ppl on dissability will save for life before buying one disabled ppl are ripped off took advantage of the price of things for us is to high to buy there is lots of things to buy to get you up stairs etc but unless you win the lottery you will not so your stuck inside for life
