Hey there! Publishers of DEATHSPRINT 66 here. We just wanted to come back to this video and say a big thank you! The team at Sumo Newcastle (and The Bachman Media Network) loved this video so much that we've given you a "Community Hero" award banner in-game! We hope you enjoy it. See you on the track.
I'd suggest covering the indie FPS game Friends vs Friends, it has a lot of the positives you mentioned in this video, such as no microtransactions, earning cosmetics through challenges, no battlepass, and consistent updates. The console release should be within the next month, and it has a very unique gameplay loop. If you do check it out, I'll let you know it was made by 10 people as their first fps.
@@yktrent2429 i was actually put off fvf with the style and design when i first came across it. plus the images making it look a lot more like a card game so i never really knew what it actually was until fragpunk started popping up. fragpunk def looks a little more my thing tho.
@@Sinsanatis Fragpunk is objectively a different gameplay loop though, and it will most likely flop due to the over saturation of 6v6 (or 5v5) hero shooters as of the moment. It is essentially just valorant with cards from Friends vs Friends. if FVF had marketing, I feel it would be a bigger game

Reminds me of a phone game back in the mid/ late 2000's, a game called, Runner 626. It was a java game, back when Sony Ericsson phones were the hot stuff. This just feels like the 3d version but added new stuff for multiplayer, as originally, it was single player game. Nice to see the concept taken and given another chance.
Highly recommend as a solo gamer with ADHD. Satisfies everything I need a game too satisfy. When you nail a flawless run; nothing else like it! Even with lack of players; it’s fun! I recommend the Episodes first though!
Really wish this game was getting the attention it deserves. I'm sure the absolutely tiny player base on Steam is deterring a lot of people from even trying the game.

Problem is that a buy2play game being released in the current time means far less people are willing to even try it. Especially considering how saturated the free2play market is. That sadly kills most games by rather unknown studios before they even release :/

Very cool! This is almost literally a complete spiritual successor to the PSX classic Running High. I was wondering when a newer developer would capitalize on this. 😊
The game looks great! I've seen older games with a similar game play. The closest to me in design is a game called Running High, but I think this takes that design and improves upon it which is great!
would be cool to do a giveaway seeing as you are so fond of the game and they gave you a free copy - that supports the team and generates clicks on your content? The game isn't my style but I I love that they are going old school - no micro transactions, no battlepass. just a solid game, thats rad.
I’m a beginner game dev and am currently studying for my masters in game dev and we have to make a game in this semester. I am actually working on creating a movement game, not quite sure the specific genre but this looks fire, I may try to do a racing game
I remember having an idea about a running racing game with modnation racing's item quirks, open parkour-ish track desings akin to sonic riders mixed with fall guys kind of obstacles, and you could beat your opponents out of the way with each wacky character having their own way of doing it ! This game seems pretty close to what i had in mind in some forms !
I think there is a way to blend these types of games with the free to play meta. The game gets more attention for being free, but if you enjoy it you unlock the full experience.

This really reminds me of that one hoverboard race mini-game from the old Ratchet & Clank PS2 game. I do enjoy the aesthetics of this, but I feel like it suffers from the "UE5 lighting syndrome" that a lot of games have these days. It just makes the lighting and shadows look super splotchy and flickery. But I get it, UE5 is the most user-friendly engine out there, so it makes sense for indie devs to use it.
There are a couple movement based mmos from the mid 2000s that played very similar to this. S4 League, StreetGears and I think the last one was Free trick (Its a parkour based racing mmo).
I love the look of the game and that it's kind of like Mario Kart with the power ups. I hope this does well as this is the kind of game we want more of. I'll buy it to supprot the devs for sure
You compare this game to Split Second, I compare it to Blur. For me in Split Second, past all the different paths and story finished, there's not much replayability. Blur was a Mario Kart on steroids at that time, especially online.
Looks pretty cool BUT I think they should've had the guy on Roller Skates instead of Running, then call it Death Skater (or Skating) simply because it would be more fitting for how fast you end-up going imo !! Still, it looks different and worth a go. Thanks for the video.
I havent been into racing games in ages, but this looks incredible. Such a cool idea, that i foresee will be copied and added upon for many years to come
Microtransactions for indie devs can be neccesary. That’s why servers get shut down, because they are losing too much money and not bringing in enough money. There are two sides to microtrasactions (I’m talking abt indie games mainly)
I like the game but I already seen a discussion on steam with people thinking it was going to be free and that's why there aren't many players yet. Could be true but I bought it. I do wonder if it was free and had microtransactions how many more people would be on the game though and what would it become. Sucks to say. I hope it does well because I find it enjoyable.
