first time i saw em live it was in a rug shop and they couldnt get a rug big enough for zach, it was an amazing situation. absolute mad lads.

Their technique and speed is out of our era.They came from a distant future to play in 2000's decade, they really looks like two time travellers is, hallucinant . Now in 2024 still nobody play like this .
I've been a musician and sound engenieer long time ,I heard ,work and respect a lot of musicians and genres during my career , and honestly ,I think hella is the most important and impressive band musicians since Nirvana dissapear . I really love that people don't notice that, not being mainstream make Hella a hidden gem, that only a few ones can easily recognize and enjoy.

Ah, yes. The Zach HIll signature series "stack of random shit found in the alley behind the bar" sounds beautiful. Very affordable as well.
Fucking incredible! I was able to catch them on this tour in a Chicago bowling alley. Tim Kinsella opened, & I was able to buy the Falam Dynasty EP on vinyl like a week or 2 before it's "official" release... Best part: During the last song half of Zach's ride caved in from him hitting so hard, didn't even stop the song, he stood up & hit the other side of the cymbal with the bottom of his sticks so it'd be evenly "caved in" all around like a china cymbal...
How was tim kinsella? Was it just a solo set

@@B4NDllKOOT_ Great record, did you know that darn near everything on it that isn't drums was programmed using 1 of the first ever computer music interfaces? I believe it was made for Tandy/Atari computers & came on one of those antiquated large floppy disks...

Let's be honest guys, Hella, especially early Hella, is the by far the best thing Zach has done, particularly drumming-wise.The drumming is so melodic here, he's literally playing guitar on the drums.He said it himself, his only drumming inspiration is Jimi Hendrix.
Not saying Death Grips and all side-projects are bad, not at all, some are awesome.
It's just that Hella were so incredibly groundbreaking.
This is absolute gold, thanks a lot!

I think "Full Moon" has some very cool stuff in it.
Maybe it's just that i prefer Math-rock/core.
@@alaskatoburningmen4549 he drums like this when playing with death grips live. its not as mathy because death grips isnt math rock but if you google their live videos you'll see that for some songs he plays like this. look up Guillotine live for a good example.
