Dude. I live in Switzerland and own an R8 V10. When I took it to the UK people were taking photos and staring etc. When I’m in Switzerland I’m a peasant 😂
Pineapple it depends how much you spec it but it’s hard to buy one new for less than $200k equivalent. The sky is the limit obv. They depreciate like hell for first 2 years then level out.

People usually buy it to show off. It's cheap and looks sick. In Swiss, an R8 makes not that much impact. Neither does it in The Netherlands. It's not styled outrageously like a Lambo...but if you'd wrap the R8... ;)
Clout yes in the UK you can get a V8 for as little as 40k if you want an old one but want to pretend you’re rich. I’m not about being flashy, I just love the car itself and thought why not treat myself. I bought the 1 of 999 Rear Wheel Series special edition so safe to say I won’t be driving it much around Switzerland in the winter! 😂😂😂

@GSS No, Switzerland isn't the best Country in the World, i was surprised that somthing like that was even possible in Switzerland, because nearly everything that makes fun is forbidden. I hope to leave Switzerland in a not too distant future, because it's not a life i want to live any longer. The Citizens here becoming more and more aggressive, because there are to many people in this small country and our politicians are targeting 10 millions+ people... Norway is my choice to go, bigger Country and less people than Switzerland.
@GSS the growing islamisation is also a big problem in Switzerland. In the not too distant future 50% of the citizens will be foreigners. We have te same problem with the socialistic politics... I have nothing agianst foreigners, as long they live within our laws and fit into our culture.

Man how lucky for those people who live up in the valley off in the distance. Like just imagine if you are obviously a car lover you would be able to watch these races go on all day from the comfort of your balcony or something. What tops it off is look at all the beautiful nature all around.
@Deez Nutts Because 8 Concept One's were produced, 1 was destroyed by Richard Hammond while filming, so 7 remain, they were delivered and production of Concept One ended. It raced many hypercars and beat them all, including Veyron and LaFerrari. One Concept One was here at this event, maybe it raced but we just didn't see it. C Two was also at this event but it's still not a production car so it certainly didn't participate in drag races. Deliveries to customers should start in 2021 and they plan to build 150 units

I don't know where did you see that only 'production vehicles' were allowed to race, cause I didn't see that and there were some rare and concept cars out there like the green GFG Style 2030, so I don't know how's that relevant. But not everyone who was at the SOC raced so maybe the person who was there with Concept One just didn't want to or didn't have time, who knows, but I don't see why it couldn't if they wanted to
Your video is wonderful Shmee, the driving in these races is tough to watch though. It feels more of a casual fast drive than real drag racing. Understandably so given the price point of the cars I suppose...
@@pendulum1997 it's easy to talk behind the scenes, these people most likely never launched their cars and pressure is playing a big role also. Even the best of the best make mistakes.
The entire SOC event is VERY poorly organized, been in gstaad and last year andermatt, it's a shitshow. The private areas are usually somewhat nicely organized, drag races were always questionable.. It's more about the company of other fanatics, Florian isn't very keen on organizing the event properly.

@Deez Nutts Because 8 Concept One's were produced, 1 was destroyed by Richard Hammond while filming, so 7 remain, they were delivered and production of Concept One ended. It raced many hypercars and beat them all, including Veyron and LaFerrari. One Concept One was here at this event, maybe it raced but we just didn't see it. C Two was also at this event but it's still not a production car so it certainly didn't participate in drag races. Deliveries to customers should start in 2021 and they plan to build 150 units
@Deez Nutts i didn't see your second follow up so i only responded to 'how so?'. I don't know where did you see that only 'production vehicles' were allowed to race, cause I didn't see that and there were some rare and concept cars out there like the green GFG Style 2030, so I don't know how's that relevant. But not everyone who was at the SOC raced so maybe the person who was there with Concept One just didn't want to or didn't have time, who knows, but I don't see why it couldn't if they wanted to

Your video is wonderful Shmee, the driving in these races is tough to watch though. It feels more of a casual fast drive than real drag racing. Understandably so given the price point of the cars I suppose...

The entire SOC event is VERY poorly organized, been in gstaad and last year andermatt, it's a shitshow.
The private areas are usually somewhat nicely organized, drag races were always questionable..
It's more about the company of other fanatics, Florian isn't very keen on organizing the event properly.

@@ArTiD2 if I was buying a Bugatti wouldn't care if it was slower than a regera, personally the Bugatti is way more classy and I'd imagine myself driving through the street, whereas the regera I can only imagine driving on a track
