The main reason Christian were persecuted from what I read was because they would not worship the imperial cult in ancient Rome, which is the worship of the emperor, which goes against Christianity or you’re not supposed to worship a man as a deity
But neither did Jews. Why were they tolerated? Why were Zoroastrians? Christians are persecuted, because they are the only ones who follow God. Satan who runs the world cares nothing about what you worship, as long as it's not The One true God.
Constantine was an opportunist who still engaged in pagan worship despite being a supposed Christianized Roman Emperor. Had he lost while converted or still won the battle with his old pagan beliefs, Christianity would have never gain traction it did in the Roman Empire
That’s a myth, his mother is SAINT HELEN. He favored the Christians heavily by donating more gold to them and having meeting to stop spread of heresy (false teaching). He had to still play ball for his Pagan senator because he was a respectful man. Yet he purposely moved to new capital separate himself into a new area where Christianity can prosper. This opportunity for this opportunist is like saying drinking water is a cheat code. Which is odd to think it’s more for it was habit for a man who clearly with his intentions.
The main reason Christians got persecuted was for the same reason that Judaism was also persecuted by the Romans. The Romans didn’t like suppressing other religions and allowed conquered territories to continue worshipping their gods. Indeed, they often built temples to deities of other religions and even adopted some of the gods into the established Roman pantheon. The caveat, of course, was that the conquered people had to worship Caesar. Since most religions back then were pantheistic, this wasn’t such a huge deal because “hey, what’s one more god?” Judaism and Christianity are monotheistic so they worship one God. So they said “We’re not allowed to.” The Romans said “No, you can still worship your God. We just require you to worship the Emperor.” Jews and Christians said “Thanks, but no thanks.” Well the Romans couldn’t make an exception to this because if they did, the other conquered people would be like “…hey, what about us? We want to worship our gods alone too.” So an example had to be made.
It's not really about the other cultures. It's mostly because religion aids social cohesion. You worshipped the guiding spirit of the emperor in the hopes that the empire would be run properly. If you're not willing to do that then how can it be known you support the empire? And if you're also going around telling people to give up the worship of their Gods and ancestors in favor of the worship of a guy that Rome executed, that's just further treason and putting the empire in danger of angering the Gods.
Actually Jews got an exception for needing to join the imperial cult because it did not fit with their beliefs and it did not matter to the Roman’s that much because Judaism was an ethnic religion. The problem the Roman’s had with Christianity was that it spread
@@beetbeetsaurus facts people are already hating me for praising our Lord and savior by twisting scripture and insulting God but their time will come,no sinner will leave unpunished unless they repent and ask for forgiveness.
Because they take credit for all the best parts of a culture while simultaneously creating all the shittiest parts of a culture that caused it to fall apart
No non of that it is due to them refusing to leave dedication at roman temples and worship their gods which was mandatory for even the Jewish community to leave offerings.
They do kinda deserve credit for a lot of modern society, it's not like ideas like free speech and passivism couldn't exist without Christianity, but it didn't exist until Christianity. A lot of the modern principles we take for granted today were first instituted by Christians. You can hate the mean religious people if you want, but it has been a net benefit for society, that's objectively true.
@redemptionjack4657 but they love to send the poor to do that especially when they profit from it but really the point I made is a problem with basically all cultures nowadays not just the religious ones

Not really. "Cult" just means an organized form of worship. That's exactly what Christianity is. Especially back then when there was only one church. Now, yes, the word has come to mean "dangerous or fringe sect" but technically this also applies to how the Romans viewed Christianity

Sad 😢
This video is really interesting! Thank you for sharing.
why is the God of sumer worshipped today, yet the akkadians kind of took them out, and yet Yahweh was not the God of akkadia.
i assume it's because the sumerians carried anu with them in battle, and akkad carried God that will be universal into battle.
Because they aren't willing to do a token show of sacrifice to the imperial cult as a show of loyalty to the emperor
They were persecuted for the same reasons anyone ever was persecuted: disimilar viewpoints, greed, and control.
To SeeUinHistory:
Please can you do a two or more hour video that is only about The Bacchae and everything that The Bacchae did during the Bacchanal

Parts of culture such as what?.
THE ROMAN EMPIRE WITH HELLENISM PERSECUTED 11 000 000 CHRISTIANS .....
Because only El Shaddai is God, and his son YeHWaH is King
Jesus is King 👑.
Self proclaimed king of the Jews during a minuscule period in antiquity. Not nearly as impressive as some people claim.

Rome is incredibly Christian today so the opposite is true
