It severely hurts their ability to help patients AND prevents students from entering residency. It’s total artificial scarcity because hospitals want to pay the fewest amount of salaries possible. If Biden only wants milquetoast around-the-edges reforms, he could reduce the hours cap on residents to 40 and forgive federal student loan debt for doctors. But democrats won’t even do the tiny reforms. So go big. Make all public medical school free. Nationalize hospitals. Go big.
