@@randomletters2948 I’m a small channel just getting started, so this means a LOT to me. Thank you so much!! I’ve got an update video in the works once the tires and brake components come in!
@@randomletters2948 Appreciate the kind words! I've seen a huge amount of unexpected growth over the past week, I can't wait to share more updates with y'all!
Good ear, but no cracked manifold. It has an unplugged opening where the EGR was, so that’s what you’re hearing. Basically, I self induced an exhaust leak as a consequence of deleting all the emissions junk. After I tap and plug, that she should sound silk smooth!
Oh the memories. I had a Ford 1975 long bed, 3 on the tree, no radio, no a/c, no power nothin. Wasn’t much between the radiator and tailgate latch I didn’t repair or replace except the engine. In 2001 I told my wife I wasn’t going to sped another dime on that old truck, so in 2002 I bought a new standard cab, short bed, 4X4 Ford. I ran that truck 15 years and had 252000 miles on it in 2017 when I replaced it. After all these years, I still miss that old 75. Not sure you could kill that old 300 with a stick of dynamite.
Thanks for the story! They were definitely unkillable, sounds like you had a great truck! Every time I stumble across an old beauty rotting away in the woods that needs saved, I’m always super excited when I pop the hood and there’s a 300 six in there. Once I see that, I KNOW I can bring it back to life, and with minimal work. Fantastic engines!
I would suggest you pour some fuel down into the fuel pump to lube the diaphragm as soon as possible, to give it time to soften the diaphragm before you turn the engine over. Pumping on the dry diaphragm with the engine is usually what ruptures them. Also, Trufuel 2-stroke works great as a top end prelube and helps lube up the carb also when you’re trying to see if it’ll fire.
To pre-lube, I spray in healthy amounts of SeaFoam Deep Creep. The stuff works miracles. I’ve pulled vehicles out of the woods that had engines completely locked up, as in a 3 foot breaker bar wouldn’t budge the crank. Took the spark plugs out, and sprayed healthy amounts of Deep Creep in, and then let it sit for several hours, came back and the crank pulley turned by hand! I’m typically not a believer in the promises of a lot of products, so many things fall short of their claims, but Deep Creep has performed the impossible for me multiple times on multiple vehicles now, it’s an astounding penetrant and lubricant.
@@randomletters2948 most auto parts stores in my area have it, as well as Rural King. If all else fails, Amazon has it it’ll just be more expensive. I can’t recommend it enough, I’ve used every popular penetrating lube known to man and usually wound up disappointed, but Deep Creep has straight up unseized fully locked up engines for me which is mind blowing. If you are curious, Project Farm here on UA-cam did a penetrating lube showdown video and Deep Creep blew everyone else out of the water (which is how I found it!)
Oh absolutely, there is ZERO comparison with a modern engine bay. You can’t fit a deck of playing cards under the hood of a modern truck, meanwhile I can pack a sleeping bag and a tent under the hood of an old Inline 6 truck!
Thank you for the kind words brother! Update video in the works now, I bought a same-era F250 recently so I can compare the frame thickness, brakes, leaf springs, axles, etc to help get to the bottom of what makes a F130 an F130 and not a F250 despite the similarities. I also bought tires so should have a video of putting it back on the road coming soon as well!
Hi Friend, Your vids are awesome! This is Alloyworks! We specialize in the production of automotive radiators, heat exchangers, and cooling system components. We're wondering if we could collaborate. Would you like to put our products to the test and review them on your channel?
Not all Ford spark plugs are hard to get out, but I have worked on several cars, remembering pintos being the worst ones that I had to use break over bars to get the spark plugs out !
I've worked on a LOT of junk, but man these spark plugs shocked the hell out of me. I've never had as much trouble as I did with these. I'm wondering if someone left the hood up for a few years and water settled on top of the plugs and caused the block and plug threads to corrode together. Thankfully, none of the block threads stripped out, and she runs, so once I get some tires and un-freeze the calipers I'll have an update video of her moving around the yard under her own power!
Keep at makeing videos like your content and you're pulling pretty good views too I think if you keep it up you'll be as big as vice grip garage or junkyard digs one day

They were back out 5 minutes after I stopped recording the video with pre-gapped Iridium plugs in their place. Chill my man, I know what I’m doing 🙂

A friend had a 68 Fairlane with 289 that burned to much oil he put used oil in it , 4 it's to ab9ut 100 miles
Wonder if the oil was coming from the top end (bad valve seals) or the bottom end (bad piston rings or worn out cylinder walls).
Try some heat.
My gosh put new Motorcraft plugs in it. And those old plugs need to be gapped. Fail shade tree test 👎
