    Today Bear and Lu Ann make a cake from a French recipe that is centuries old. See some tips and tricks and learn the history of Pithiviers Fondant cake.
    Pithiviers Fondant - cake
    1 1/4 cup soft butter
    2 3/4 cup almond flour
    1 1/3 cup sugar
    2/3 cup of flour
    4 eggs
    3 tablespoon rum (we use spiced rum)
    In a large a bowl mash up the soft butter with a fork. Add the almond flour and mix well. Add sugar and mix. Add the flour and mix well.
    Beat in eggs one at a time. Add rum. Place batter in an 8 inch cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes. Let cool for 15 minutes and remove from pan. Once completely cool dust with powdered sugar. Enjoy!
