He lived about a 15 minute drive from where the funeral was in Downey...So ironic and sad. I literally cried when she died and decided to take a city bus to the funeral...A lot of fans and celebrities were there...The ceremony was very touching..I will never forget it. I still have the program they handed us from that day , Febuary 8th , 1983

The show/entertainment business is very destructive mentally and physically. They say Karen always thought she was to big physically; she just wouldn't eat her brother said years later. The pressure is so huge. Recordings, appearances, contract obligations etc, etc, etc. I don't know how ANY can handle it. Many can"t sadly. Great singer, not the greatest, but great.

Just think: The songs that Karen were referring to were only about 10 or 15 years old at the time of making this record.
I think there was a '50s doo wop revival in the early '70s, so this makes sense!
