I'm 73 years old and have been singing (classical) all my life. People sometimes ask why I still take a weekly voice lesson "at my age". I ask them "Why do you think I'm still sounding good in my 70s?"
Before reading your comments i think i am too late in my 23 as i see people sing in their 9-10-15 but you are inspirational ✨, i will start in new year let's build a new hobby 🎶
Ive been singing for 4 1/2 months! On the 21st of May will be a 5 month marker. It was a New Years resolution and I have progressed very far with your videos and when I sing and know I’m doing something wrong I tell my self what I was doing wrong. Dedication is key 🔑
Several years ago I decided my best option to learn Hangul (Korean) was to sing with Korean singers since there was no one in my area to help me learn the pronunciation. Since then, I have recorded probably 1000 songs or more and made videos with them to upload on my UA-cam channel so that I could compare my improvements as time goes by. I hardly ever sang before because, to be honest, I thought I was tone deaf. An internet test told me I wasn't but I'm still not a good singer, but I have learned to easily sing in the Korean language which is one of the most difficult languages for English speakers. I started using this method when I was 72 in 2016. I still learn and record at least one song a day. It only takes an hour or two now to learn the song and make the video to upload to UA-cam.
@@calebvalentinegonzales2986 Do you want to learn Hangul? This would work with learning any language. If you want to learn Hangul, I can give you some Korean singers that has very pure, distinctive enunciation of their lyrics which is what you want to start out with.
Yay. I’m 50 and I’m trying not to sound as bad. Never sung around people, but I’m getting better in my guitar playing and some vocals would REALLY. Thanks for the video
I'm with you I'm 60 and I started 1 year ago trying to learn guitar and sing all this in preparation for retirement to have something to keep my wheels rolling But is not been easy too much info in UA-cam that who should I really follow plus I'm the kind of person who learn from being closed to others since nobody tells me that I need to do it other way I do it my way which it is probably the wrong way but guitar lessons and vocal couch are expensive Good lack
I just turned 40 and I used to play guitar and sing (not very well) all the time years ago. It would be great to give a them both a good go and for real this time 😊
Thank you so much Freya. It's true that when we're younger, we learn faster, but whet we get older we learn more consciously ! I'd love to have my today brain and awareness in my twenties ;)
I'm 75 years old. I've always been a terrible singer yet I love it. I got kicked out of a choir when I was a pre-teen because I was so bad. Later in life, I don't care anymore. I just sing when the mood strikes me - It makes people laugh and it makes me laugh. It gives me joy, but I've gotta admit I'm terrible.
"singing good" like many things in life is kind of a convention or democratic social decision about what is good and what not. Should not be like this. If it makes you happy sing as often as you desire and as loud as you can without hurting your vocal cords ;)
i've tried to learn singing from all the yt videos i could find. Also I've learned my voice isn't just "bad" naturally, it's because i have vocal nodes. My situation is that I can't sing high or vocal fry or sing silently. That said, I learned how to do natural vibrato, although it's more difficult in my case, jaw/tongue positions and improved pitch. I can say singing is really really hard and needs dedication. It's actually physically hard (abdominal breathing).
Thank you Freya, I sing professionally but recently have been working on classical and opera songs. I will start lessons next week and have already been warming up with your videos. I sing with you every day! :-) I am 58 and this was just what I needed today!
Oh thank you Feya, that's exactly what I longed to hear. I feel motivated again. Started to train my voice at the beginning this year, then I discovered you, felt motivated to go on, but always struggled with my thoughts about my age. Until today! So I stay tuned with another tip from you, always telling myself "This is me"! Maybe I'll find the courage to visit your live training next year? :) Hoffentlich ;)
I started at 38, just after having my last baby. I'm better but so frustrated with the muscle memory of glitching changing from head to chest or vice versa. I'll overcome it, one day. Oh, but the hardest part? Remembering the lyrics! LOL
I put everything in life down to like learning to drive a car when your able to , you learn the basics and build on it till you got it , then you keep on going , if you stop for a while you will lose what you learned and go backwards and start again , this happens in many things in life , even in singing or playing an instrument, had a guitar for years , back at the start , don’t ask me why . Lol.👍
This is quite possibly be the most excellent video you have EVER presented. You have always been excellent ,but this video really describes the connection. No MATTER WHAT AGE! This video clarifies intentional discovery with one's own anatomy.
I am almost 32 and now I teach myself harder vocal like screaming and singing with grit. For me screaming is a bit easier than singing with grit. That's kind of weird. I think the word screaming is a bit wrong, screaming is not really louder than normal singing, it's just perfect coordination and resonance.
I started taking voice lessons 2 years and 5 months ago when I was 52 with a one year break in between because of a fractured right foot. Thus far breath management has been my achilles. But progress is being made.
Great video! subbed. I always wanted to learn to sing. I think I can but I'll need some guidance....that's why I'm here. I'm a guitar player and almost 50 ugh. I always thought you had to be born with it, to an extent.
67 years old and started singing 18 months ago Mastering space, support and breathing very difficult. With on line learning and lots of repetitions, better now.
Im hitting 40, I'm a guitar player. I never wanted to sing, never tried. I've been regretting that decision lately. People ask me to sing when I play. Then I end up ruining the song with my cat wallowing!
Hi, in 2015 I was paralyzed and since then I have really been focusing on art and my music as I couldn’t any longer do my former career. I’m 47, decent musician but never sang before. How can I spent a few sessions with you to see if this is something I want to really try. Mostly I’m shy, and afraid my weak voice will never be worthy of singing. Serious inquiry of you are available and interested. Thank you. Mike
Wicked. I'm just getting nowhere fast with it. I'd really love to solving to my wife one day but I suck so badly. Iv always wanted to learn but always fevered being seen a certain way.
Learning from UA-cam videos is possible, but the results could be better and much faster with a good teacher who gives you immediate feedback. UA-cam videos don't give any feedback. And listening to records to you give you some feedback, but not never as much as from a good teacher.

This video appealed to me because I'm 23. Apparently I'm still young though 😂
poelimanjo same hahah I feel so old to still be learning how to sing
let's learn together, haha
You are very young! I'm 34 this week and only just starting to learn to sing now. You'll be great ! Practice everyday 😁💜

Im 27 and I think anyone starting singing after a child is too old to be a popular singer but never too old to have fun

That's a very good idea. I should do that to practice my French and Spanish. Thank you for telling me another way to do that!
If you have a good sense of pitch, you're already off to a great start. You can become a great singer, good thing you're on Freya's channel.

There is singing and singing. It depends as well what you want to sing.

You can change old habits right? Depends on what motivation is. I think older people know the work it takes to change. And older know to not give up.
