Just subscribed, your methods work well for me. One suggestion, that is to provide a more literal English translation. For example, for "Puedes ser como ellos si nunca te rindes," I think it would be very helpful to show how the Spanish is structured and worded with the more literal "You can be as they if never you surrender." You might word it slightly different, but you get what I mean. That is still quite understandable English and not incorrect, and reveals the Spanish structure in a way that is more easily understood. Anyone who has ever read poetry would recognize such structuring and not fault it. No other Spanish teachers do this, and I've experienced over a hundred different teachers and styles. I believe it would help learners more easily transition to "thinking in Spanish."
