- Today I'm going to show you how to make unicorn bath bombs with whipped soap on top. It has 3 parts: cupcake liner/topper, whipped soap, and the bath bomb.
RECIPE: 2 cups baking soda, 1 cup citric acid, 1/2 cup corn starch, 1/4 tsp. SLSa, 15 milliliters fragrance oil, 5 milliliters polysorbate 80, 10 milliliters carrier oil (coconut), 10 milliliters water, & 1 teaspoon mica. *The SLSa- sodium lauryl sulfoacetate is optional; it makes bath bombs less vigorous, last longer, & adds foam/lather.
DIRECTOINS: Sieve dry ingredients together. Mix wet ingredients separately. Add wet ingredients slowly while whisking. Thoroughly mix & knead mixture to ensure ingredients are thoroughly incorporated. Divide the mix into 4; each gets 200 grams of mix and 1/4 teaspoon of color powder and mica. I also added 1 teaspoon SLSa to the yellow mix. {I measured color powder, mica, & SLSa before making batch of bath bomb mix.}
MOLDING:
Use a 3" mold. Fill mold to top, then lightly pack it. Add loose mix on top. Repeat for other side. Smoosh the 2 molds together tightly. Tap with a spoon to release the bomb. Dry them for 24 hours. Then put the bath bombs in the liners.
WHIPPED SOAP
100 grams distilled water, 100 grams grated soap (Olay), 20 grams SLSa, and 10 grams stearic acid. You only need soap and water; everything else is optional. The SLSa adds foam and lather. The stearic acid makes the soap firmer. Mix ingredients together and microwave to dissolve. It thickens quickly. Divide soap and add liquid colorant. Cool below 100 degrees Fahrenheit to add 1% preservative and 5% fragrance (by weight). Add soap to a piping bag. Make sure it is cool enough to pipe firm swirls. After piping soap, add the topper. The soap gets hard after 12 hours. Once the soap is cured, it comes off the bath bomb easily.

I’m not sure if cotton candy eco glitter [CCEG] will be restocked as they've been out for a couple years now. [CCEG] is more like a large flake-mica rather than glitter; it’s very lightweight & delicate. The closest thing to CCEG that I know of are NS's “eco glitters”. They’re named “eco glitter” too but have all the qualities of a large-flake mica. Use them one at a time or as a combo to create a rainbow effect. [CCEG] is more iridescent rather than rainbow, so it’s not the exact same, but they're all gorgeous none the less

Finally making these!!
That’s beautiful. I wish I could do this and sell this. I just had open heart surgery not too long ago
Damn that’s serious! I hope you feel better soon!
So cute!
Oh Dora, 😂 When I think that I have watched ALL of your old videos, another one Pops up! I would love it if there was a playlist of all your videos from the beginning. I would love to see your very first UA-cam tutorials. I need to cross that line but I'm scerrrdd lol I've done live videos before with my eyelash business when I was in a company called Red Aspen I don't know why tutorial videos now would be any different. Lol😂
Great minds think alike I guess because I created one - it has EVERY video that I've ever made. its called "CREATIVE BATH LAB". The older the videos are, the worse they get. My older videos have really bad lighting, sound, video quality, etc. lol But hey, it's there if you want to look! And everyone is scared and nervous when they first start making videos. and yes, they will be bad- but that's normal. It's how you learn!
Hermoso todo lo q haces 👌🏼
Gracias 😊
I love you, I follow you from great Iraq
Omg, Dora I just made unicorn bath bombs the other day. But yours came out so much better!
Hey Dora, love this tutorial and can’t wait to give it a try. I was wondering how would you keep the soap from falling off while gifting these?
I’d say the best way is to make sure your bombs are super hard & the texture isn’t powdery at all (the more powdery= the better chances of the soap coming loose
These are so cute. They'd make nice easter basket gifts for my niece. She loves your bath bombs. 😂
Have you tried cold process soap to make your whipped soap? Also, is your version drying to the skin with that amount of slsa?
I was just going to ask the same question. Knowing what's in commercial soap, I just cannot bring myself to use it.
Hi! I have some bubble bars that completely crumbled when I removed them from a mold. Is there a way to add something and reform them so they aren’t so loose and crumbly?
These are so gorgeous!❤❤
They would of looked super cute if you did the mane with a grass tip! Perfect hair for future reference 😉💜💜
Great tip!
Very nice! Have you ever made CBD isolate bath bombs?
Never. Im embarrassed to say I dont know what that is.
@@CreativeBathLab people use CBD non THC for pain relief. Some use the CBD isolate in lotions as well.
What is Slsa
A powder surfactant
I want to m ow how much time you spend scouring the internet looking for all your cute packaging? lol.
Wonder no more! I didn't waste any time. I stumbled across the liners/toppers on accident when I was looking at unicorn sprinkles and they just popped up. So I thought I'd give them a try!
@@CreativeBathLab oh, I wasn’t implying you waste your time lol. I’ve spent at least half a lifetime looking for containers for products I never even make 😂😂 I have issues…
Not sure why you added a preservative. Bar soap doesn't need a preservative
This is unnecessary criticism. If you watched attentively you’d notice she added water to the mix, hence the necessity of the preservative, at the point it is no longer bar soap.
Thanks boo!
