Roderick founded the first European settlement in what is now Alberta. Donald has a river in Oregon named after him, and was the Hudson's Bay Company's Chief Factor. Henry founded the first industrial complex in Quebec, part of a 32,000 acre estate. I believe it was my direct ancestor, the Tutor of Kintail, who dealt with the McLeods. From what I have read, he was not a very nice man.
Learned alot of my grandmother's side of the family. Got an ancestral line directly to that castle. Anyone got any recommendations of more information on the McKenzie clan.

I see a lot of ppl here are descendants of Mackenzie’s and/or Scottish descent. My surname is seaforth, father’s family come from Guyana. Been doing a lot of research on my surname and ancestry..it’s been brought to my attention my surname goes back to Scotland amongst others. When it comes to genealogy I keep getting hits on the Mackenzie clan and the Earl of Seaforth. Due to migration and European colonization I’m aware Scotland had its own involvement in the Caribbean & Guyana. I often wonder if somewhere down the line of my lineage there’s Scottish roots or..? (Anyone who’s Scottish pls feel free to reply. Respectful comments only)
