I went in for a shave in Kolkata India. Another barber experience in India but this time really in the streets with the fresh air! The video looks more like I am suffering the whole time but it was a funny indian shaving experience. I was really surprised by the price at the end so I gave him a little extra for his honesty.

It's highly dangerous to shave there. They use common shaving brush n fatkiri so infections can spread easily from one person to another. Highly unhygienic

When I was in Kolkata 10 years ago for a wedding, I had a really wrinkled tie and I am an American. Guy across street iron my tie for 5 rupee, I gave him 50 rupees. He kissed the money with happiness.

Yes. Like 8am, I was waiting for him to finish preheating the hot coal to heat up the old vintage iron during the morning and he scrubbed the iron on sand to remove soot. I was worried about getting my tie soiled up but it came out squeaky clean!

yep it is beneath "status" of many Indians especially with a bit of money in the pocket to help out their fellow Indians. Indians complain about discrimination elsewhere but are the biggest hypocrites when it comes to their own country. I KNOW from experience. Especially today the literal fat cats are too busy amassing money. If 10% Indians share their wealth - they can improve 50% of their fellow Indians' lives. The US and India are SO similar gives me the shivers! Of course the Americans won't agree but in reality capitalism had begun in India well before it came to the West.
