Hey, really cool vid! As the programmer of this game, I can pretty much confirm everything you said here about the parallels between the two games. FNaF2 is my favorite game in the series and I hold the opinion that its ONLY flaw is the RNG. With that said, FNaF2 heavily inspired things I did in this game. Things like how a lot of FNaF2 characters are dealt with roughly the same way but all have their own twists to make them unique is something that inspired me with the 3 stage call characters, with them each acting differently around the mechanic. Jasper paralleling withered animatronics appearing in front of you, the stage call paralleling the mask, Pasqually paralleling the quick reaction time needed with the withered animatronics, the layout of the custom night screen... the list goes on. Unfortunately, I also paralleled the RNG of the max mode, and that honestly just came from a lack of understanding good game design. I could heave EASILY just coded characters to have less variation in their movement times, but at the time I thought that would be better for the game. Criticisms of CECR's RNG have given me a better understanding of do's and dont's, and I've grown as a dev because of it! My liking towards FNaF2 has died down a little bit since making this game as well (while FNaF2 is still my favorite, I think SL is objectively the best game if we're counting the custom night DLC)
Oh hey, didn't expect you to watch this but I'm glad you did! This is fascinating to hear about as a True Nightmare victor, I always got the feeling that a lot of it was inspired by FNaF 2 and it's cool to hear exactly what you had in mind when designing parts of it. I'd definitely agree that True Nightmare is rather appropriately named, especially when it comes to RNG, haha. Still, it's very fun to play and CECR is probably one of my favorite fangames out of the 60+ that I've played. As I said in the video, you essentially made a better version of FNaF 2 by making the very best of a game that still has a ton of RNG involved. Overall, I'd say you did a pretty great job on this one and if you ever make another FNaF fangame, absolutely let me know because I'd be glad to play it. :)
no, that isnt its only flaw. it has many flaws like no cameras being used, the game builds up no tension, and RNG which I hate (like you said) and alot more

Fnaf 2 is definitely my favorite. I also think that this game is one of the scariest in the series. In my opinion the idea of terrifying player by overwhelming them is extremely good because many horror games has a major flaw is that you can get used to it's horror elements and game becomes not scary at all. But overwhelming the player keeps them in fear that they can make a mistake. This is why I honestly believe that games that allow you to defend yourself with weapons like Silent Hill, Doom 3, S.T.A.L.K.E.R etc. are more scary than many other horror games because you're afraid of making mistakes that will lead to your death, always having a thought in your mind that your finger might slip and you will put your mask too lat or miss your shot and get killed. Also, I think that animatronics design in Fnaf 2 is the scariest. I am not scared of FNAF 4 animatronics because they're product of imagination and they're intended to be scary by nature, because, well, they're nightmares. I love withered animatronics' design and the thought that something like this might exist in real life make them even more terrifying. Also, I heard a lot that "toy animatronics aren't scary at all". And I completely disagree with that opinion. I think that something that looks so innocent, friendly and cute but it's actually a cold-blooded killer is very scary. Especially because the same thing can be said about real people.
I love FNaF 2. That hype of beating Golden Freddy feels so good. The sugar rush to keep you on your toes the entire night whilst multi-tasking makes it even better. Although there are some bugs, and even worse, Toy Bonnie RNG, It has the most intense feeling in the series. Having to be perfect every time can be quite stressful, HOWEVER, it’s still possible. You can’t forget the fact that it has one of the most favorited models in the series, and really increased the amount of SFM animations and fan-games. And it feels so good to clutch up a run. For example; Winding the music box just seconds before it runs out Winning a night WHILST the music box is out Or winning a night as a jumpscare is playing. It’s rare, but it’s still so cool to see.
True. It’s just that the problem is foxy, sometimes the Withered’s Almost barge into the office immediately that You barely Can Flash your light at him, the music box winds down very fast. The Toys take a long time to leave, if The music box goes down while Wearing the mask and one of the toys are still in the vent, it’s either mask or music box first. Game over and it also takes away time of Flashing the light at foxy. Game over.

FNaF FFPS - The salvage scene with Scraptrap and his jumpscare in the office, the tycoon map, the menu screen with the Rockstars FNaF UCN - The main menu and loading the night to be immediately game ended by Nightmarrione I guess I think about the teasers a lot? Its usually visual stuff like character models and ''office'' areas, idk

@@AmbienceOfficial Absolutely wonderful news! I was thinking if you could do a deep gameplay analysis of each one of the games like you did with both FNAF2/the fangame here, but with the whole clickteam main FNAF games, and then comparing them to eachother giving your opinion at the end! You're the best person to make this kind of video for sure. Oh, and another thing that I think could make your videos even better, is the background music (this fits with the aftonbuilt drama video you just released too), I think they should be more calm you know? The BGM you choose for these videos kind of get a little distracting and get the attention a bit away from your explanation, that's really the only complaint I have, cheers man, love your content!
Hate to be negative but Golden Freddy Mode on FNAF 2 Custom Night is so overwhelming! Like you have to wind the music Box, put on the mask, Wind The Music Box, Put on the mask, flash your light at foxy, On and On and On And On. The Animatronics are very active that night, The Withered’s barge into the office almost immediately that if foxy is in the Hallway during that time or when The Toys are At the Vent away to the Office, you won’t have any time to flash the light at him….Game over….and the Music box goes down almost immediately making even more of a problem because if the toys are at the vent way to the office….they take a very long time to leave messing up any time to Wind The Music Box if the alert icon appears so It’s either Music Box first or Mask First. Game over.
I think True Nightmare almost mixes FNaF 2 10/20 with SL 10/20. It's hard to even focus on everything at first but once you get to that point you're like, MAYBE halfway there. Now you need to learn kill timers, combos, and anything that can help you maximize time spent with costume. CEC:R is actually my favorite fan game! I think I actually like it more than any of the official games hehe. Actually scary main game followed by a really good max mode in my opinion.
Maybe im weird but Dormitabis Repastered gives me with the maxmode Sorrow Spring similar wibes as 10/20 and True Nightmare (Dormitabis is mix of FNaF 2 and FNaF 3)
Hmm, fangame reviews would definitely be interesting. These analysis videos kinda are my reviews, I just decided to do FNaF 2 and CECR in this one, lol. Undoubtedly, several of these videos will be a lot like reviews though.
Maybe it'll pop up again on the channel at some point - but until then, I'm just glad I got to include it in an analysis. I wouldn't count out another one involving it someday, though!
Amazing video, also I was doing a revisit to fnaf1 and I tried to afk the whole night 1 since I know that bonnie and chica attacks only when monitor is up and force you out of it,but then I died to foxy at 5am(I have finished fnaf 1 like 5times and that is the first time I actually see foxy at night 1)is that a bug or is foxy actually active at night 1 with a very low AI?I hope you reply
Foxy is active on Night 1 because of how the AI works, technically as active as Chica. The AI levels for Night 1 are 0/0/0/0, but Chica and Foxy both get +1 at 3 and 4 AM. This means that Foxy can activate as early as 3 AM, and if you don't use the cameras much and get unlucky, can kill you. In fact, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy all gain AI during the night, so Freddy is the only one guaranteed to not move on Nights 1 & 2.
@@AmbienceOfficial I always thought that their AI at night 1 is 3/1/0/0 cause bonnie usually moves before chica in almost any night but what you said actually make sense, thanks for the info and keep up the good work!
Hey, I’m struggling with 10/20 on fnaf 2 because of foxy, is it because I’m not flashing him enough? Because I flash 3 to 4 times before flipping up the monitor so u got any solutions for this?
Foxy is notoriously broken and super finnicky. Maybe wind the music box less if you tend to wind a lot, or hold the flashlight on Foxy for 1-1.5 seconds instead of spam flashing him. This is more likely to get him to go back to Parts & Service and buys you some time.
I always thought of fnaf 2 as one of the most overrated fnaf games, and I never really liked it, the gameplay felt so...hollow I guess, you never had time to think or anything, because it could get you killed, so you just did cam, mask, check vents, check hallway, repeat, I am not a big fan of the fact that literally all the animatronics are fooled by the mask but two, I am not a big fan of the fact that you need to stay in cam 11 the whole time to wind the music box, and checking other cams could easily get you killed, I am not a big fan of the horror and jumpscares...it just felt boring and overwhelming, and I really wish Scott had taken more time to make it, because it had a lot of potential
Given how FNAF 2 only took three months...yeah, it's prety safe to say the game was rushed, and you can feel it with it's shallow gameplay, jankymechanics and utterly satanic timic
In regards to 10/20 mode, I find that what gets me killed is I can't keep count of 5 seconds on the mask for balloon boy and toy chica, do you have any good way to count 5 seconds that actually is 5 seconds? I normally end up short or too long with a foxy jumpscare.
Number 1 tip, use a stopwatch. That'll allow you to accurately count time without any possibility for error. If you don't have one available though, you can do a rough equivalent. Start counting by saying "one-thousand-one, one-thousand-two" etc. and that should match it pretty closely.
@@AmbienceOfficial Is there any sign you know of that the run is going to go good or bad? I also do 5 ticks on the music box when foxy is there, 6 ticks when blackout, 7 ticks when someone else is in the hall and 8 ticks when hall is empty. Is that good? It seems to constantly get me to 2 and 3AM, with a few 4AM deaths mostly to The Puppet, and a miniscule amount of Foxy deaths.
Wait here is a question (or a vid) if you know in fnaf 6 you need to salvage if you die and the animatronic gets in do you still get the completion ending?
Thanks! That's more on me than the mic, honestly. I'm still trying to get comfortable with my style for analysis videos since this is only my second one, so I ended up being definitely closer to the mic than I needed to here. That resulted in a weird commentary style where I had to strain my voice to get the volume I wanted and because of how close to the mic I was, it was picking up a lot of breathing and stuff like that. Should be better next time as I keep experimenting.
It will because fnafs AI system is very RNG based if not entirely based on RNG there’s the value of the animatronics and then the randomizer value of animatronics rise every night I can’t remember too well but it is randomly chance based
I’m going to be honest, Fnaf 2 feels really rushed. People talk about Fnaf 2 being their favorite fan game, but I feel a lot of that hype is from people popular in the community talking about how good it is. Fnaf 2 is painfully over rated, it’s a great game, don’t get me wrong, but it does not deserve the hype it gets. The gameplay feels too repetitive and rng based, and not rng based in a good way. Fnaf 1 and 6 do rng well, you can’t keep using the same strategy for most of the time, while Fnaf 2’s rng is just toy Bonnie saying fuck you and staying in a vent for 3 hours.
FNaF 6 doing RNG well is...very debatable lol, but I strongly agree with everything else. FNaF 2 is good, but there's better that get overshadowed because of how overrated FNaF 2 is. There's a lot of bias toward the game and typically criticism is met with "you're just mad because you're stuck on it" despite nearly every other pro I talk to criticizing it heavily, and we've all beaten 10/20 many times. If anything, it seems to be the opposite, it's liked by people who haven't played it long enough to know how flawed it is. Even with new 10/20 strategies like right vent camp (Tactic Crew strat) and Shooter25's cycles, it's still rather luck-based and frustrating to play.
@@AmbienceOfficial Honor to have you respond man! Just wanted to let you know that the UCN guides are great and help a lot, been having trouble getting past 9000 points for a while and the guides are really helping with it
Fascinating! Great video, I've only gotten up to Night 6 in CECR but I have to say that I agree fully with your conclusion. Other than lore, which isn't relevant to this video, I think CECR is pretty much superior to 2 in every way, its really well paced and polished as you said. One thing confused me though, what do you mean by ''wait out timers''? Thanks! EDIT: oh, and for anyone seeing this, I highly recommend watching this immediately after Pastra's video Ambience references. It flows really nicely
Waiting out timers is basically referring to the technique of waiting out the animatronics' kill timers, when you know them, to stall them out. There's two reasons for doing this; the animatronics being stalled appear later, manipulating cycle, or you get more time to do something else; in CECR's case, usually it's stalling Costume more.
I’m still trying to beat the custom nights. I have 3 left New and shiny 10/10 10/20 I’m struggling on new and shiny a lot and I have no idea why. I’ve had one good 5am run but that’s it.
FNAF 2 is basically RNG, it took me a long and ridiculous time just to beat 10/20. if Toy Bonnie wants to screw you… oh boy, he will. also, about chuck and cheese, I haven’t played this fan game so I can’t say much.
also you barely even practise the character for cecr for like a lot of them like the one you have to hold ctrl wont be on night 5 the mice thats gonna appear infront of your gate instead of distance on the gate and the foxy wannabe and the worm doesn't show up in night 5 and i forgot the name because i played litteraly just today also don;t show up at night 6 or nightmare

Should have added a withered foxy jumpscare at the end lmao
Maybe im weird but Dormitabis Repastered gives me with the maxmode Sorrow Spring similar wibes as 10/20 and True Nightmare (Dormitabis is mix of FNaF 2 and FNaF 3)
0:52 ok, that was hilarious 😂
Is CEC: R a better FNaF 2?
"Well yes, but actually no."
me when cecr starts as a parallel to fnaf 1 but then forms its own identity
Ayyy here’s that Chuck e cheese video. And for some reason I’m like really into this fan game.
The new, The Tubbyland archives act 1 also did a good job on the difficulty setting. You should cover that game too.
That game is so hard that I can't past NIGHT 3
@@tiktok-mc2nqthat's called a skill issue, even the max mode can be quite easy, you just gotta learn the mechanics (but laa laa can be annoying)
@@mbutterr this was months ago. I am now able to complete the game and I only have all max so uhhhhhhhhhh
@@tiktok-mc2nq all max can take awhile, but it could be rng based on laa laa and po but if youre planning to beat it then gl unless not
@@mbutterr I managed to get to 5AM after some attempts.
"FNaF 2 is and always will be heavily based on RNG"
Well that aged well
Honestly, I would love more of this, and I would also like stand-alone fan game reviews if that’s ok with you. Hope you get to 20k soon
Hmm, fangame reviews would definitely be interesting. These analysis videos kinda are my reviews, I just decided to do FNaF 2 and CECR in this one, lol. Undoubtedly, several of these videos will be a lot like reviews though.
FNaF 2:
Golden Freddy 10/20
Chaos
Sequel to FNaF
Great video man keep up the good work!!
I'd love more videos of CECR.
Maybe it'll pop up again on the channel at some point - but until then, I'm just glad I got to include it in an analysis. I wouldn't count out another one involving it someday, though!
Excellent video, my guy! Was happy to work on it with ya! ^^ Very interesting points here.
Thanks, your help with the script is greatly appreciated!
Fnaf 2 best ok
Now stop all you mean youtubers saying fnaf games suck cus somepeaple like fnaf
Fnaf 2 is my favorite, but it DOES get overwhelming sometimes!
This video deserves way more views. Like holy shit, this is a good video. Been liking the analysis's. Keep it up!
cecr fr give me panic on night 5 but the jumpscare is more like kids trying to scare me lol
@@AmbienceOfficial I always thought that their AI at night 1 is 3/1/0/0 cause bonnie usually moves before chica in almost any night but what you said actually make sense, thanks for the info and keep up the good work!
as soon as I dont make any noise, sure
THANK YOU FOR MUSIC names!!!!!
@@AmbienceOfficial ok thx
Yeah guys by the way that fan game ambience says isn't good is creepy nights at freddy's 2 I think
You would be correct. CNaF 1 and 2 will probably end up having an entire video analysis dedicated to them sooner or later.
Im starting to see some similarities between CECR(True Nightmare) and DormitabisRemastered(Sorrow Spring)
FNaF 2 first thought: chaos
Edit: oh, you said that 30s later. Lol
Damn bro I never even seen a fan fnaf game so this will be my first time
0:53 Wait, what fangame is this? I've never seen this one before.
@@AmbienceOfficial Alright thank you very much, I'll try that. I beat FNAF 1 4/20 in two or three days, and its taken me over a year for this still...
0:53 what is this game, I'm very intrigued
Creepy Nights at Freddy's 2.
I’ve noticed that every UA-camr who does these type of videos use the same background
This game is easy until the custom night in all honesty (kinda goes for both lol). I remember I fell off of it because the custom night was so brutal
Yeah, Nightmare mode is insane enough, but True Nightmare is just another level of pain.
@@AmbienceOfficial i haven't beaten either nightmare mode, I might give it a shot just for the clout of beating a high level mode loo
For some reason I found Nightmare to be fairly straightforward. The only reason you ever need to leave the cameras is to deal with Jasper or Chuck.
@@PixelKid1865 at the time I left that comment I had a massive skill issue. That has been fixed
I love these video essays, they're so good!
Wait here is a question (or a vid) if you know in fnaf 6 you need to salvage if you die and the animatronic gets in do you still get the completion ending?
You just need all animatronics in by Saturday, doesn't matter how. Failing salvages is fine.
@@AmbienceOfficial ok
As soon as i heard "Remnants of Joy" in the background i cracked a big smile
This is a very cool type of video! I only wish the mic quality was better, as it really stands out in videos like this.
@@AmbienceOfficial Cool! Excited for all your upcoming content.
Ah, a fellow Pastra enjoyer
What was that remake with toy Freddy moving on camera I'm curious
Creepy Nights at Freddy's 2
Who’s more annoying, puppet or costume?
Costume, for sure.
@@AmbienceOfficial And You Say Fnaf 2 Overwhelming, Did You Even Play 10/20 Mode?
Do you think you'll ever do FNaCECR guides?
It will because fnafs AI system is very RNG based if not entirely based on RNG there’s the value of the animatronics and then the randomizer value of animatronics rise every night I can’t remember too well but it is randomly chance based
FNaF 2 is one of my favorite games and was also the second easiest one behind FNaF 3

Cec: R Is Like Fnaf 2 But Harder.
Hmmm very interesting video
Awesome video!
My first thought of fnaf 2 is just rng pain

10/20
I’m struggling on new and shiny a lot and I have no idea why.

I Swear To God, The Whole Fnaf Community Hates Fnaf 2 Now.
