With these you have to make sure that you dont have any airleaks in the manifolding and gaskets, vacuum anywhere from 21 to 23 inch mercury at idle, the 2F was notorious for leaks and therefore burning valves, the 3F not so much because it has extra bolts on the manifold/head but still make sure. Also valve clearence needs to be right, never too tight, too loose and they will wreck tappets. Other than that they are unkillable. Have got one for 25 years thats done over 700.000km runs like new. Oil and filter changes every 5000 and the thing will outlive you.
Good job dude But with 2f and 3f Valves needs more rounds than once of its adjustments The camshaft mounts still not well placed and not enough screwed while reinstalling it Install that using piece of wood and hammer first to adjust it again. Warm up the engine then re adjust it again after it gets barely cooled a little to touch Then your engine will be so fine
Good work guys, love the 3F

Love your work!!
Enjoyed bro. Good shit. Unlucky with the new donk. But it all turned out chippa.
notorious for burning valves. Check valve clearances and also make sure you not running too lean
Good job dude

Yea man got it sorted after running it for abit letting them Seattle in
Mate good job, just wondering though: you never worry about fackin dust and shit when you work on a motor in an open shed like that
An old engine like this is all good man just give everything a wipe
Newer engines should definitely be dust free
Stuff rebuilding that piece of shit engine, it's piss weak.
