The Rev will be proud of his brothers for choosing this BEAST as his drummer. Brooks is a machine of inspiration, he is absolutely creative and the only one who remembered some fills from Jimmy on the last album.
I love the fact he has his "main" hi-hats on the right side, and these little "stacker" hats on the left which plays the main groove you hear. Very creative usage of sounds
God Damn! im so inlove with this guy 🔥he's such a beast and aside from his AMAZING drumming, he's also a very creative musician, and a good-looking guy too on top of all that godly talent, what a cutie lol. he's just the best fit for the band, and I'm just so glad he's their drummer now ❤️ pls don't ever leave, my guy! I watch this clip a lot btw 🤣 tnx!
I’m not just saying this because they’re my favorite band, but brooks is insane! So smooth, precise, and seemingly effortless! That’s a pretty decent pace with a lot of different sounds going on and he makes them seamless! I was a HUGE jimmy the rev fan not only was he an incredible one of a kind drummer he was a really cool dude! I have been listening to them for a long ass time and I grew up not far from them. I’ve gotten to meet the guys multiple times during the party days when they weren’t as well known. Every one of them was super down to earth and just cool dudes. I’m surprised they aren’t bigger than they are! Every single person in this band is talented as fuck!
Has been the best addition to the band. He's whacky and creative like Rev, but not trying to replicate him like Portnoy did on Nightmare. Love the punk flare and the precision 🔥
@@Vorticy135 Copying is the wrong term, they wanted Mike to play the drum parts exactly how Rev wrote them. Though he had some creative freedom on some parts of course.
@@lepsa8323 Exactly, Jimmy recorded all the parts on an electronic kit for the demos, but without fills. They told Mike play everything Jimmy wrote exactly as he wrote it, but improvise the fills since he didn't write any
there are people that are good at something that it left me in awe, and there are people that makes my monkey brain freaks out not sure if they're even human. Brook is the latter.
Jimmy will always be my number one but holy shit… this is an absolute masterpiece. Thank you so much for doing an incredible job with this band. You are killing it
I don't know if anyone noticed, but there's a clamp holding his hi-hat closed, so he can play double-kick and still have this short staccato-esque sound. That's genius!
@@n.j.crawler Yes, however most of drummers would use this special hi-hat drop clutch or whatever it is for the same purpose or an electronic backing track instead, Brooks however is not afraid to use something less conventional and still play 100% live
Someone help me out. Look at his ride cymbal, it’s different. It appears to be a 20 inch Istanbul Xist. But I thought he only used zildjian cymbals. Look, it says Istanbul and had a triangle on the top. I thought it was an A custom at first.
He’s so technical but he’s play style os utterly boring to watch at a live event. Not much of a performance, feels like he’s playing to a studio even live
I love watching him play. He's in the zone and I love it. I'd rather hear amazing technical drumming than watch some doofus play to the crowd and sound terrible.
Dude his timing and his precision is INSANE
Legend says that he’s actually an AI robot.
@@st.boanergesthey actually used Brooks to fine tune the AI to make sure they can keep time well enough.
Ikr! Sounds easy but fucking hard when you actually attempt lol
you guys do know he uses a clicktrack right?

He's the most relaxed and cleanest drummer ive ever seen
2.) Tomas Haake
Mike Mangini
Brooks and syn look so relaxed and calm playing this shit at the highest level like they could do it in there sleep.. brooks is a drum machine
this new a7x fase has such a good energy
Brooks is pure, not a huge ego and insanely talented. Great combo.

He's so damn good.
I heard the atomic clocks actually run on Wackerman time
That's good
So dope. It's a sick guitar solo overtop a sick drum solo, perfectly working with each other.
This song is my favorite of the new album he kills it on everything he plays! Love his style #Brooks
He's literally a drum machine
Brooks doesn’t play to a metronome, it plays to him
They use him to calibrate all metronomes
@@maxronaldo00 that’s a good one😂
😅
Brooks going to A7X was a great move.
Love this dude!!
Effing sick timing and precision!!
A7X FoREVer!!!!
I watched this show at this venue. It was in Cincinnati
Awesome guy. He was a regular at the restaurant I use to work at in Huntington Beach. We always gave him appetizers on the house.
0:28 was so awesome love the beat
Best drummer hands down
PLEASE MORE OF THIS VIDEOS!
Great drummer since the Infectious Groove 2nd album ! 30 years ago !!!
Smooth operator!
Such a sick beast! The precision and chop is sooo gangstah
drum sound ao beautiful groove
I knew something cute so small sounding was made in to the album. It was actually 2 splash as hi hats. ooohh. 😮
Dude thats insane, not one beat missed.. he is so underrated and is the best take up for Jimmy.. thanks for uploading this vid man..
Not gonna say replacement
The kia forum, it was my first time watching them live and it was they’re first time playing at that place
I just love to watch and listen to this guy.

There’s so much bass in this video, my car is vibrating mad on the solo section.
Fuego! Wish I could’ve been there
Definitely the cleanest drummer I’ve ever seen in my life! He’s just incredible and a simply genius choice of drummer for A7X 🙌🏻
Has been the best addition to the band. He's whacky and creative like Rev, but not trying to replicate him like Portnoy did on Nightmare. Love the punk flare and the precision 🔥
Nightmare was written before the Rev died. So it makes sense why he coped him
@@Vorticy135 Copying is the wrong term, they wanted Mike to play the drum parts exactly how Rev wrote them. Though he had some creative freedom on some parts of course.
Portnoy was told to play most of what Rev already wrote. And he would have been the new drummer but he was too good 😂
They wanted to have a drummer with "less history" back then, that's why it did not work out with Portnoy and they added Ilejay instead

Is the china on the right of the ride stacked? It seems to have really short sustain.
people were bitching about how it would be impossible to play live and that it would have been special effects... yall were emberassing
How he played it is like telling us that hes been drumming all his life without actually saying it.
Brooks possessed by Jimmy ❤
A7X 🎶👍👍👍
So does he change his main hats to those small dry ones just for Nobody? I can't imagine him using those for the whole show
brooks technicality is beyond my brains comprehension
Is there a full drum cam video of the entire show or something like that?
this is unreal. watched some covers of this song and they cant come close to this.
He is clean and solid like no other. Insane.
is he using a 12 hihat? well, he is not using a dw snare also.
I was wondering how he got that tight of a sound out of his hit. he has a clamp on it. lol
