When I started towing to the track, my times went down because I didn’t have that fear of needing to drive the car back home in the back of my mind. Happy for you!
I’ve had a 2011 for the past 6 years. Aside from being a gas hog, it’s the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. Runs beautifully, tows like a dream, awesome family and pet hauler. So comfy on long road trips. A champ in the snow. Just the best. Enjoy!
I'm looking at GX460/470 right now, and I'm probably going to stick with Toyota since I'm not a big fan of the barn door. Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure the the Sequoia is more like the larger LX, while the GX is a luxury 4Runner, which puts the Land Cruiser in a odd location in the lineup. Sequoia seems more comparable to the LX in my eyes, but that demands way more of a premium. Solid pickup for a tow pig; the only thing you really need to "modernize" the interior is a headunit that supports Apple Carplay.
yep think you're spot on! the Sequoia and LX share the same engine but pretty sure it's a different chassis. I took a look at those but they're like 25k lol
@@dadhats From watching your video, I think the advantages of the Touareg is the diesel engine for towing. I average 17-19MPG while towing my camaro in an open trailer at 70-75mph. Without the trailer I get 31 highway and 27 in the city average. The downside to the touareg compared to your car is that it does tend to sag a little in the rear with the trailer and the seats don't fold down flat(almost but not really). You have much more room in the inside and more comfort creatures. Touareg is more sporty and economical. Your car is more comfortable and bigger. My touareg doesnt have air suspension. But I got mine with 118k miles for $12k. It's been a great tow vehicle for almost 3 years now. I'm about to cross 160k miles.
@@SpyderRacing wow extremely jealous of that fuel efficiency, I'm expecting 8-10mpg from what I've read 💀 that's pretty solid dude! I never looked at the German stuff just bc they're supposedly a lot less reliable, but sounds like you've been putting it thru it's paces 👌
My dad bought a 2012 Mercedes ML350 3.0 diesel with the intent to tow a small car with it but compared to the “full size” segment even with a 6500 lb rating it’s not great to tow with. I went with a Infiniti qx80 rated at 8500 lbs and with the touring package it has load leveling rear air bags.
So I too am looking for a tow rig to tow my Camaro. REALLY want a sequoia but only 2012ish ones are in my price range. I know they are dead reliable but eventually rust gets the best of everything. If you don’t mind me asking how does the frame look rust wise?
Never mind you addressed it at the end! I think you made a great decision. The rust on the frame doesn’t seem too bad imo. You should get a decent amount of years of service out of this.

nice! that's def something that plagues my mind at tracks that are 4+ hrs away from home
dont forget to make a video of your first reverse tow :)

that's awesome! glad to hear it treated you right 🙌
I had a Sequoia and an open trailer as my first tow rig. You are on the right path.
hell yea glad to hear it 👌
I was looking over the summer for one of these to trailer my brz. Couldn’t find one that wasn’t rusted out in Wisconsin. Ended up with an F150.
I don't blame you at all, it's actually crazy how bad the rust gets on these!
Hi :D love ur videos
That's a really nice truck.
thanks man! rly happy with it 🙌

Good option, I ended up going with a TDI Touareg but this seems like a better option in some aspects.
oooh that's a good pick too. diesel right? I'd be curious to know what u think pros/cons of both are

Moby can stretch out now

I heard they’re releasing a Toyota Sasquatch. It’ll be double the Sequoia in every aspect. But you’ll never find one.
😂😂
post 0 60 times
probably quicker 0-60 than my brz 💀
Towing to the track is sweet. One step closer to making the BRZ full race car 😂
yup! just one less excuse not to do it right? 😅
