bobby alessi oh Lori is my mom's favorite song and mine too. we used to sing this together when we were just hanging out. beautiful song, lyrics and melody. a real classic ☺
bobby alessi ..Believe this or not but I got introduced to your song in Nov 2017 by a lady who was slightly tipsy singing it in a taxi in Dublin Ireland. Had to track it down when I got home to hear what it really sounded like..Have been singing it ever since.. brill..thanx
Tears in my eyes. The chords progression and the vocal harmony of this song are wonderful. This song perfectly translates the atmosphere of these carefree and peaceful times of your life. Once upon a time, paradise was on earth, and in those days the Alessi Brothers were broadcasted on the radio.
The radio back then had a much more variety and better qualty of music , if I may be so bold. This song reminds me of days gone by where we, at home in my childhood years, listened to the radio all day long. Allessi Brothers, 10CC, Eagles, Supertramp, Queen, Dire Straits, the Carpenters and so on...all different kind of music!
I agree 100%. This is in my top 5 favourite tracks of all time and I have a vast collection of different musical genres. So, so beautiful. It brings tears to my eyes too. ❤❤❤
I remember this gorgeous song from 1977 when I was 8 & it seemed hot every day in Britain. You’d hear it blasting out of radios while people watched Wimbledon on their TV’s. A real summer hit & as good now as it was then…..
Loved this song as a 17yr old and after I got Married in 85, two years later our first daughter was born and named after the song. And so another beautiful Lori entered the word. She now has two wonderful children of her own.
Hi Grant, That's wonderful, Now that's what I call keeping our music in your life! I just became a grandparent a month ago. Here's to us & them! cheers, ~bobby
I am 18 years old and recently I discovered this beautiful song, it may not be from my time but I feel that it transmits everything wonderful that music can express. I feel lucky to know this song and be able to enjoy it and I would like more friends to know and value it but for me it is one of the best songs ever made
Used always sing this with my buddy on holiday in 1977 I lost him yesterday I just had to hear this again and remember the beautiful summer we had thank you x
Always been one of my favorite tunes I'm nearly 60 now but back in my teens me and my best friend used to sing this walking round the streets of an evening he died of cancer when we were 24 this song will always make me think of those nights walking round singing this and other tunes but this one this was our go to tune oh and i did the air flute solo :).
Absolutely exquisite composition - and who would have thought of a tribute to George Shearing - and jazz flute solo - in the midst of the rock years of 1976! A melodic masterpiece and thank you the wonderful Alessi brothers!
Aw I was 13 when this song came out, it was a very long hot summer in a small village in Wales and my friend and I would go to the local phone box and dial a disc and listen to this song over and over again! Listening to this song 40 years later, it seems like yesterday! I now live in Los Angeles and I make movies and this song is still awesome, it brings back so many amazing memories. Thank you for keeping the dreams alive :) xx
All for a reason was just simply the BEST. Back in the 70's I listened to All for a Reason every single day, while I was traveling playing Baseball. Thanks for a GREAT song guys.
I heard this in the spring/summer of 1977, while hankering for the last year's glorious summer in England in 76. It captured and gave me the joy of living it all again. I loved it. Hearing it now takes me directly back to that time - instantly, and I'm there. I know music does that to us. But this conjures a special care-free feeling (I was 18, and care-free). I really love this song. Thank you.

Don't see too many live performances as good as that these days that's just about as good as it gets....outstanding gentlemen, great memories from my yesteryear thank you.
This song always takes me back to a lovely warm summer's day in the UK (1977 maybe). For some weird reason I'd always thought the line at 01:19 was 'You danced for hours in your FUs', a brand of blue jeans that were popular at the time ... listening live here I realise I was way off. A really fine song in any case.
I remember this wonderful song way back in 1977 when I was in the Philippines. I was a kid at that time. The Era of Barry Manilow , the Bee Gees , etc . I now live here in Vancouver BC Canada. Thanks for today's modern technology. It revived the good old songs.

Wow ! This is amazing. I can't believe your voice has aged so gracefully. It's even mellower and definitely better than the 1977 version. Truly wonderful.
I am very blessed to have these two close in my life. My dad played the role as their manager and traveled around the world with them for every tour. They are still best friends to this day and think of themselves as brothers. I grew up knowing them as my uncles.
I was 21 when this arrived in Britain, I picked up on it immediately because it was so different to what was going on here. I'm Glad Lori was a real person as this song may not have been written, Thanks Lori !
Stunning vocals for one of my all time favourite songs. Takes me back to the 70's when I met my first love. 35 years later we met again and have been married 6 years. if there was ever the total feel good song then this is it. Next step to see these guys live somewhere in the world when we can all get our lives to something like normal

I just always remembered the chorus (maybe from hearing it on Casey Kasem) and always thought it was a women. Then like 20 years later I’m working in Tokyo and hear it on a CD possibly Tower Records in Shibuya and ask the guy and he said it’s on a lounge compilation and then that’s when I found out it was 2 brothers and a man?? Wow! So I bought the CD and always play it when I have a drink and just want to chill like now. Thanks for the song. Brings back such great memories with all my family members alive and well. Cheers
The Alessio Brothers were in a group called Barnaby Bye, Blond is another beautiful song. I had the music for this song, it's full of jazzy chords, minor 9ths etc.
Bobby Such a popular song in the Philippines growing up. I love your songs I wish I was making love, all for a reason, seabird etc. I was so into soft rock/jazzy type that alessi brothers along with Kenny rankin, Stephen bishop and the great James Taylor were (are) my favorites. Certainly one of the best songs of the seventies, really capturing the spirit of that era. What makes this song great? Very strong and tasteful melody and thoughtful, honest harmonies combined in an undeniable groove with lots of fine pocket. You can identify with the story. It's like floating on water in a warm sea. Two thumbs up, also for the perfect execution of this song by this stellar band, and these timeless voices. Thank you.
What an amazing song. I distinctly remember hearing this on the Top 30 rundown on BBC Radio 1 on a Sunday in 1977. We recorded it off the radio right there (haha... should mention I bought the LP eventually when I got older!) and then and we played that tape for a good decade as there were so many great songs charting in 1977 from the likes of the Stranglers, Carole Bayer Sager (Moving Out), Queen, Dr Hook, Deniece Williams and the like... thanks Bobby for writing this song... I was surprised to learn it was not as much a hit in USA as it was in Europe.

If I’d written this then I wouldn’t have cared if I couldn’t have written another song, it’s a masterpiece. It’s timeless, this song came out when I was 14 and I’ve loved it since.
just heard this song again for the first time since my childhood - and was immediately transported back to my early teen years. Amazing how this beautiful song has stuck in my head since those carefree days. And now, I can't stop listening to it - but am not complaining! This song should be re-released all over again. Everybody should hear this.
Such a wonderful song and it amazes me how my 3 month old son appreciates this song already. He started listening to it when he was still a newborn, it calms him down when he’s fussy, it never fails! It’s officially his fave lullaby. 💙
I heard this song for the first time on the radio in the car a couple of weeks ago and it it’s one of those songs that immediately soaked into my soul, love at first listen. Had to keep repeating “Oh,Lori” over and over in my head in so I could find it when I got home. It’s so mellow, sweet and romantic with a delicate swing, and this is such a wonderful rendition. It can’t be easy to sing but it’s done beautifully here.
Yes, Lori is a real person. We were married and have 2 beautiful children.

If I’d written this then I wouldn’t have cared if I couldn’t have written another song, it’s a masterpiece. It’s timeless, this song came out when I was 14 and I’ve loved it since.
Thank you Philip, much appreciated .

just heard this song again for the first time since my childhood - and was immediately transported back to my early teen years. Amazing how this beautiful song has stuck in my head since those carefree days. And now, I can't stop listening to it - but am not complaining!
This song should be re-released all over again. Everybody should hear this.
Thanks Tommy.
Toujours aussi clair quelle ouverture cela fait du bien merci
Such a wonderful song and it amazes me how my 3 month old son appreciates this song already. He started listening to it when he was still a newborn, it calms him down when he’s fussy, it never fails! It’s officially his fave lullaby. 💙
That's so sweet Monica. Our son and his wife have a 2 month old baby boy. I'll have to share your secret. Thanks!

Thanks Tom!
Reminds of my youth, listening to this soothing evening timeless tune.
