- See Notes below. Archival video of John's first tv special with guests George Gobel, David Carradine, Lily Tomlin, and James Whitmore (as Will Rogers), along with original band members and Liberty, as well as Bill and Taffy Danoff. Filled with funny skits, musical performances, and a strong environmental message.

SME (Sony Music Entertainment) blocks all use of video and audio on the first song, "A Song's Best Friend", it's actually Rocky Mountain High, along with Country Roads and Sunshine. Starwood in Aspen is muted.
BUT, that doesn't prevent you from enjoying the show's content, while admiring John's dancing and storytelling abilities and comedic timing.

An old recording, but beautiful. The world is a lesser place without John Denver.
Always loved John. Was devastated when he died. Such a great talent and we were blessed to see him in concert many times. Listened to his music constantly. May the Lord keep you in peace, John❤️🙏🏻✝️
Amen!!!
Oh how I miss this guy. What a genius, no one else comes close.
John Was And Is One Of The Greatest Voice's Ever My Mom Is One Of His Biggest Fan's And So Am I John Rest In Peace ✌️✌️
My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of John Denver
I love him so much and will never forget him. He’s always been my number one favorite singer.
R.l.P, I will always love you.❤, Kim R. Mackey, FAR OUT,😊
John Denver claimed the mid-cities of Dallas-Fort Worth as his "hometown." He used to come back to Arlington, Texas once a year to play golf with a few of his old high school friends. That's pretty cool staying in touch for so long with a few old high school nobody buddies.
Growing up in Colorado in the '70's John Denver was our state mascot. What a beautiful soul and a unrivaled songwriter and singer. We miss you, John.
I grew up in Colorado Springs, and I agree. John Denver made us all proud to be Coloradans.
Such an ambitious man, with so much talent. Gone too soon. Miss his music and enthusiasm concerning the world issues…. ❤️💕❤️💕
I love that story about Sandy Barnes! I can't keep from laughing every time I hear it. 😂
John was such a great story teller, helping me picture that time in his life. Wow, I sure do miss him being here, but so glad we have UA-cam to listen to his music and stories that keep those memories & great music& life slive. ❤️🎶🎸🥰✈️🌹🦋🐴💐
Rest in peace John you have been such a blessing to us all God bless everyone
Another gem in the hundreds of John Denver videos. Comments by Bob Hope, Johnny Carson, John’s dad, with David Carradine and Lily Tomlin.
That was George Goebel sp
Well this was fun to watch 🥰
Miss him !
❤❤❤ ALWAYS LOVED, ALWAYS MISSED.....😇🙂😘💔💔😢😢
The Best and very missed ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️✝️
Just golden. Thanks for posting.
Lily was so cute and only one alive left of this show. RIP David Carradine, autoerotic asphyxiation wasn't worth it. He was a great actor. John had great comedy chops. Too bad he took that experimental flight.
The eagle was beautiful 😍!
I can’t wait to watch this!🙏❤️🕊
I think they should have elaborated more on the buddist monk costume scene. Could of been really funny.
Hawk and the Eagle song is one of my very favorites.
11:55 One of the first songs I learned to play on guitar.
❤
There will be no one like him. But I wonder why Starwood in Aspen was cut off at the end

So, John was lured to Hollywood to do a few of these specials thanks to ABC.
Yes, Thank Goodness, we can remember this special moment.
Before you comment : Read the description!!!
I doubt he's resting. Too much to be done for the Planet.
RIP is a falsehood.
It wasn't fun to watch including his music of course and his little giggle is far out.
Got that wrong sorry, it WAS fun to watch.
I just love his laugh! Makes me smile every time. 😊
❤I love John Denver !😀😀❤️❤️❤️
